Master Of None

Walker saw that there were seemingly fifty of the Dark wing race flying about now. They were not as large as a regular angel would grow to be and seemed naturally smaller which might allow them to flit about the more dangerous areas of the dark elemental planes. This also made sense since they seemed to remain within the darker shadows and melding with them whenever they needed to.

There was not a little bit at all of space mana within their actions. It appeared that they were not using space to be able to meld with darkness or shadows at all. Instead, it was similar to Onyx to a degree and it was innate. The only reason Onyx had changed was his exposure to space mana around Walker at all times.

”I need all of you to focus on me.” Walker stomped his foot and a massive earth dome sprouted, shocking the black wing race members and keeping the focus on the first who had spoken with him.

”All of you have come to Genesis. While your sage, the true dark sage, has allowed this, it is clear that you do not know the rules and regulations of Genesis and the world.” He took a deep breath and could feel all the attention on himself now. He was the outlier. The one standing out and the one that was making the most difference to them. They had been too focused on the world and now there was only one thing to focus on.

Midnight and Onyx were different too, but Walker was demanding attention. ”The world has a mix of every mana, just like the boundaries you may have studied and learned about due to your curiosity, this is more dangerous to you. You are of only dark mana and may have higher resistance to other manas, but have any of you been around all manas mixing at once?”

”It’s like chaotic manas! The world is all chaotic manas!” one of the dark with race shouted out in shock before they all started to repeat this as if it was possible.

”That is not the case whatsoever. The world is balanced and the manas mix peacefully in the flow of nature. That is why the bridges to the elemental planes had bonded properly and allowed for manas to flow back and forth. Our world’s manas are not as pure and not as potent. Meaning that there is a clear cut difference. The dark mana from your elemental plane is purer and dense which is why it is able to allow growth very differently for all races that live there. Some beings of each elemental plane would perish just coming to the world.” Cоntеnt sоurсеd frоm МV4LЕМРYR – Мy Virtuаl Librаry Еmpirе.

This didn’t seem to calm the energy. Instead it appeared to make them all even more worried. ”I will give you all resistance buffs to help you. Your natural resistances are somewhat impressive compared to the race that appeared here from the light elemental plane. They can not easily leave the light territory without risk.” Letting them know other elemental planes were sending over visitors was a main point Walker wanted to use.

Simply put, if the elemental planes had races coming to the world to visit, then they needed to know of the risks and that there were races from all through the entirety of the elemental planes. Therefore, peace would be enforced just as strongly, if not more strongly, than if they were in their own homes. It was a way to ensure safety and peace continues.

”While you are here I will expect respect and peace to all unite races of Genesis. I also expect you to learn how our societies work since they are developing and growing. You will need money to purchase things, be able to share knowledge of what you need to live, and also to share knowledge in trade with us. Otherwise, you will have guards and escorts to help you while you are here.”

”The angel race lives primarily on the Sigil continent. They have floating cities and also many villages. There are also many members living within Genesis along with several of their representatives. Right now many of the race’s representatives for every race are occupied and their proxies are standing ready to handle the meetings and communications. I believe we can introduce you to some of the angels with dark affinity. They are much like you.”

Walker considered the fact that the dark wing race appeared to also absorb dark mana with their wings causing them to be very focused on the mana within an environment. If the dark wing race was in an area devoid of dark mana, they may be at risk. So far though, it seemed that their bodies could store a significant amount of dense and pure dark mana to sustain themselves. Something that the angel race of the world could not do since it would harm their bodies.

”I am very interested in the books and magic related books you have brought. Herbal studies are very good too. Even more, the knowledge you may have written down about monsters, other races, and really everything you may have. We can share a lot and so can you. So, what would you like to learn first as your main goal?”

This was the same as opening a floodgate. Every single one of the dark wing race tried to speak before a severe pulse of dark mana radiated from the one who came to Walker first. The mana was suffocating but completely under his control. This dark wing race member was the strongest out of all who had come and was keeping everyone else in line.

”Thank you for the introduction and the rules. We will accept escorts and guards. We do not know of this plane as you do. I will maintain more control of my flock.” The way that the leading dark wing race member spoke had changed greatly.

It seemed that using the dark mana within them allowed for their more prominent and active aspects of personality to appear. This meant that what he was seeing was their relaxed and unfocused aspects of personality. Something different than the other races within Genesis right now. Emotions were not tied to mana as much as it seemed that the dark wing race had.

”We would like to meet the angel race of your world. Having them so varied would be educational since we have records of the day we first arrived within the dark elemental plane and began exploring.”

This was even more shocking since this meant that the dark wing race had been nomadic and travelling but constantly researching enough to the point that they maintained some if not all knowledge of their race within the dark elemental plane.

”You mean that you and your race have recorded everything since the day you entered the dark elemental plane? Does that mean you understand the changes your race underwent over many years?” seeing that Walker was the curious one now, the dark wing race members seemed to be relaxing again. Their mentality that he was somewhat like them seemed to spread fast.

”Yes! Our ancestors loved seeing the changes. We wrote it all down. The shadows protected our books. Save them even when we die. Our shadows are all united!” The switch back to a more energetic and seemingly positive attitude while the dark mana retracted was staggering. But it told Walker a lot.

The shadows of the entirety of the dark wing race were connected. Menaign that they could share knowledge, items, and whatever else using their shadows. It was similar to Onyx but way closer to space magic than what walker expected.

”Then we will have a lot more questions for you than what I expected. We have struggled due to not being able to get back some ancient history of our races within Genesis. The races that visit us from other elemental planes also struggle and wish to find the origins of their races or their skills here. You are the first race that could have the most detailed records of how your race grew. How your race survived within the dark elemental plane safely while adapting to it. You could help many races learn of how they changed.”

This was an honest and clear statement from Walker. He understood the value this knowledge would come with.

”That means we can learn more from you then. Show us everything after we need angels of all types!”

That was that, the deal was simple and clear. The dark wing race was ready and willing to share as much as possible. As long as they were fed new knowledge so that they could continue to travel and learn. So that they could see even more than they had already.
