Martial God Asura

Chapter 6663: Forbidden Skill

“I understand that grandfather has his difficulties, but we’re doing this for his and the Ling Clan’s sake. I don’t want to see grandfather or our clansmen dying in Chu Feng’s hands. It might seem like Chu Feng is being extreme here, but he’s not at fault. None of us can find any reason to tell him to stop. Grandfather... is just too stubborn. His old age must be hindering his judgment. Not only does he refuse to listen to me, but he even struck me!”

Ling Sheng’er slowly grew more agitated as she spoke, to the point where she began roaring.

“He’s becoming an old fool,” Ling Mo’er agreed.

“Who’s an old fool?” a voice suddenly echoed from behind.

The trio tensed up. They quickly turned around. Unbeknownst to them, the Ling Clan’s Clan Chief was standing on their boat.

“Grandfather, h-how...”

Ling Sheng’er and Ling Mo’er were nervous. Shuang Yu put up her guard. It wouldn’t be surprising for the Ling Clan’s Clan Chief to make a move on them, considering where his allegiance lay.

“Old fool? Is that how you talk about me in private?” The Ling Clan’s Clan Chief stared at Ling Sheng’er and Ling Mo’er.

“Of course not. We were just grumbling in a fit of anger,” the two sisters tried to explain.

The Ling Clan’s Clan Chief didn’t believe them. He rolled his eyes before asking, “Are you certain that Chu Feng will take you in?”

“He will,” the two sisters replied in unison.

But Shuang Yu didn’t speak a word. She remembered what she had done to Chu Feng back then, so she wasn’t sure if he would be willing to take her in.

Shoosh!

An ancient communication talisman paper fell into Ling Sheng’er’s hand.

“If Chu Feng takes you in, tell him that our Ling Clan is willing to help him. As a show of sincerity, we will do any one thing he asks of us, as long as it doesn’t involve killing members or destroying the property of the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. Use this communication talisman paper to relay the message to me,” the Ling Clan’s Clan Chief said.

Ling Sheng’er and Ling Mo’er were overjoyed to hear that. “Grandfather... do you mean it? You have thought things through?”

“Of course. Or would you only believe me if I announce to the entire world that our Ling Clan is going to betray Jie Tianran to side with Chu Feng?” the Ling Clan’s Clan Chief asked.

“Of course not. I’m just curious to know what made you change your mind, grandfather,” Ling Sheng’er asked with a grin.

The Ling Clan’s Clan Chief considered telling them what he had just seen, but he decided against it. The nature of this matter would change if he spoke the truth. It would seem like the Ling Clan was seeking refuge out of fear of Jie Tianran, rather than them believing that what Chu Feng had done was right.

So, he said, “I have thought things through. Your words make sense. However, I should clarify that I’m only turning my back on Jie Tianran; I am still a member of the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. Tell Chu Feng that I’ll help him, but I hope that he won’t go after other members of the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. He should go after the true culprit, Jie Tianran.”

“Jie Tianran isn’t the only one involved in Lord Nianqing’s death. There’s nothing wrong with what young master Chu Feng is doing. Far too many people in the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion deserve death. Can you say that you won’t do the same if you were in his position?” Shuang Yu asked.

“At least ask him to spare the members of our Ling Clan,” the Ling Clan’s Clan Chief said.

“Grandfather, I’ll relay your words to Chu Feng. I think he’ll compromise if you’re earnest about wanting to help him. I’ll inform you if he agrees,” Ling Sheng’er was so happy that she did a little joyful dance.

“This communication talisman paper can only be used once. We can’t use it on something so trivial.” The Ling Clan’s Clan Chief hesitated briefly before proposing, “Why don’t I follow you? You try inviting him out for a face-to-face talk with me.”

“Won’t that be too dangerous?” Ling Mo’er was worried about her grandfather’s safety.

The Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect was the Chu Clan Alliance’s turf. So far, the Chu Clan Alliance had already slain six members of the Saint-tier elders. While her grandfather was ranked higher than the Saint-tier elders, he wasn’t stronger than them.

Her grandfather wouldn’t be able to escape if Chu Feng decided to take his life.

“It’s fine. I know Chu Feng. He’ll accept grandfather if grandfather is sincere about wanting to join him,” Ling Sheng’er said.

She had a deeper understanding of Chu Feng compared to Ling Mo’er and Shuang Yu.

“I’m not looking to join Chu Feng. I want to join forces with him to deal with Jie Tianran,” the Ling Clan’s Clan Chief emphasized.

“I understand, grandfather.” Ling Sheng’er stepped forward, grabbed her grandfather’s arm, and sat him down. “Let’s look for Chu Feng together.”

“All right.”

The Ling Clan’s Clan Chief nodded. He took out a talisman paper and fused it into the boat, greatly increasing its speed. He noticed that his palm print was still on Ling Sheng’er’s happy face, and his heart suddenly felt heavy.

His obstinacy had nearly brought harm upon the entire Ling Clan. Ling Sheng’er was not wrong when she said that he was an old fool.

Weng!

Ling Sheng’er suddenly felt the pain on her cheek vanish. Her grandfather had constructed a recovery formation on his palm and was treating her.

“Does it still hurt?” the Ling Clan’s Clan Chief asked.

“It hurts, but it’s nothing. I’m delighted to see that you have come around,” Ling Sheng’er said with a grin.

“You lass.”

The Ling Clan’s Clan Chief smiled at his adorable granddaughter. His heart, which had felt nervous for the longest time, suddenly felt at ease. Perhaps, from the very start, he had already known that siding with Chu Feng was the right option here.

...

Jie Tianran didn’t return to the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. Instead, he made his way to an Upper Realm in the Totem Galaxy.

This Upper Realm had no potent resources, so there were no formidable powers stationed here. However, it boasted a huge land mass and population.

A massive formation quietly enveloped the entire realm. Jie Tianran stood at the center of the formation with his scroll, which had shrunk to its original size. The scroll was unfurled, and one could see the wailing souls in it.

These were the eighty million elite world spiritists from the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. They were still alive despite having undergone refinement, writhing inside the scroll from sheer pain, despite having lost their consciousness.

Jie Tianran took out a sixty-centimeter-tall straw doll. It was plastered with many talisman papers, but the talisman papers on its back were blank.

He took out a special brush and wrote five words on the talisman paper—’Chu Heavenly Clan’s Chu Feng’.

Next, he took out a jade bottle containing Chu Feng’s aura. He formed a hand seal and infused the aura into the straw man. The straw man began moving as if coming to life.

Its facial features were crude, but if one took a closer look, it bore some resemblance to Chu Feng.
