Make the Immortal Sect Great Again

Brahma Nation, Eight Treasure Table.

Inside the Ancient Chan Forest Monastery, Baohu sat at the head seat. The three Brahma Cultivators—Zhongjian, Nurong, and Suoze—stood in attendance beside her. Today, however, there was one more monk present.

Tall and robust, with a rugged appearance, it was none other than Wu Chi, who had finally escaped the torment of the fire seed. Yet he looked like a completely different person. His every word and action was timid and cautious, entirely lacking the imposing aura he had possessed when he first initiated the sword contention.

”Everyone, there is no need to worry.”

Surveying the low morale of the crowd below from the master seat, Baohu smiled faintly. ”The superiors have spoken. The situation will soon change.”

”The upcoming sword contention will be what we are best at.”

Hearing this, Zhongjian and the others finally looked up in confusion. ”What we’re best at? Senior Sister, you know as well as we do that we aren’t good at sword contentions.”

Historically, the Brahma Nation had always lost more than they won in these sword contentions.

While they had won before, their victories were always minor. Whenever they lost, however, it was generally a crushing defeat. There was no way to call them ’good’ at it.

”This time is different,”Baohu explained. ”As far as I know, Arhat Shengle has already settled the grand scheme with the True Person of the Immortal Gate. The upcoming sword contentions have all been predetermined.”

”What!?”

At these words, the group of Brahma Cultivators, who had just been dejected and hanging their heads, immediately straightened their backs. Their eyes lit up, their spirits returning in an instant.

”Senior Sister, do you mean we won’t need to risk our lives in the upcoming sword contentions? Since the superiors have already predetermined the outcome, we just need to follow the script?”

In a flash, the morale of the Brahma Cultivators soared!

No wonder she said the upcoming sword contention was what they were best at. It turned out it wasn’t a sword contention at all, but a performance! In that case, she was absolutely right—they were experts at this!

Historically, when Brahma Cultivators fought, victory and defeat were never decided by the battle itself. Long before the fight even began, the outcome had already been settled off the battlefield. After all, cultivation was never just about fighting and killing; it was about human feelings and worldly wisdom. Since everyone had worked so hard to reach their current level, why fight to the bitter end?

They weren’t like those barbarians from the Immortal Gate.

Every single one of them was either fighting to the death or plotting underhanded tricks, entirely lacking the demeanor of civilized people. The Brahma Nation had always looked down on them for this.

”Not just that,”

Baohu chuckled. ”We suffered losses in the last two battles. This time, the superiors have reached an agreement, so it’s our Brahma Nation’s turn to win a round back.”

”Really?”

At her words, the crowd was roused with excitement!

”Of course it’s true.” Baohu nodded. ”This time, the Immortal Gate will send out eight inner sect disciples at the Tribulation Transcending Third Layer, led by that Dousheng.”

”These eight Tribulation Transcending Third Layer inner sect disciples are being served up for us to kill. As for Dousheng, there’s no need to pay him any mind when the time comes. Just let him escape.”

After Baohu finished speaking, the previously excited Zhongjian and the others suddenly sobered up. ”Eight at the Tribulation Transcending Third Layer... Even if they are only inner sect disciples, their Realm is right there. They won’t be easy to deal with. Not to mention, Dousheng will still be there. Senior Sister Baohu, you’ll need to step in personally to handle him, right?”

”Correct.” Baohu gave a slight nod.

Zhongjian, Nurong, Suoze, and Wu Chi looked at each other in dismay. ”So the four of us are supposed to deal with those eight at the Tribulation Transcending Third Layer together?”

That didn’t seem right.

Four against eight. What if the other side suddenly went crazy?

It felt far too risky.

Seeing the newly raised morale immediately begin to plummet, Baohu nearly laughed out of anger. The opponents weren’t even True Transmissions of the Immortal Gate, yet they were actually cowering in fear?

’These bullying, cowardly worms!’

Fortunately, the superiors also knew the nature of those beneath them and had made arrangements in advance.

”Rest assured,”

Baohu said softly. ”I have already contacted the superiors to send two more junior brothers from the Arhat Seats. Like Junior Brother Zhongjian, they will come to assist us.”

”Just in case, I even requested a Spiritual Treasure deployment for them.”

Two from the Arhat Seats? And a Spiritual Treasure?

At her words, everyone’s morale immediately began to rise again.

Right at this moment, footsteps suddenly echoed from outside the Chan Forest, followed by a bright burst of laughter. ”Senior Sister Baohu, you think a bit too highly of us.”

Looking back, they saw a bare-chested monk holding an Alms Bowl stride into the hall. Behind him followed a tall monk wielding a Zen staff.

”This poor monk is Jingshan, cultivating under Tuobo Luohan.”

”This poor monk is Xuxing, cultivating under Arhat Bahai.”

The two monks first bowed to Baohu in the master seat, then turned to glance at Zhongjian, and only then introduced themselves to Wu Chi and the others.

From top to bottom, the hierarchy was distinct.

Wu Chi and the others didn’t care much about this. After all, even though disciples under a Wisdom King were the most numerous, they had always been at the absolute bottom of the Brahma Nation’s hierarchy of contempt.

The problem was Zhongjian.

The three of them couldn’t help but shoot a glance at this disciple cultivating under Arhat Shengle. Why did it feel like, even though they were all under the Arhat Seats, they were completely different?

”What are you looking at!”

Zhongjian naturally felt their gazes and immediately glared back. What was wrong with being under the Arhat Seats? There were differences even among the Arhat Seats, alright?

He was a secretary, not a direct disciple.

To put it bluntly, his position under the Arhat Seats just meant he was an assistant to the Arhat. The two who had just appeared, however, were the ones the Arhats actually poured effort into cultivating.

Couldn’t they see that those two could even request a Spiritual Treasure?!

”In addition to them, there is also a junior brother from under a Wisdom King.”

In the master seat, Baohu spoke again. Soon after, another streak of light sped over and landed, revealing a monk with red lips and white teeth stepping out from it.

”This young monk is Jinchi. Greetings, senior brothers.”

Rustle!

In an instant, whether it was Zhongjian or the newly arrived Jingshan and Xuxing, they all stepped back in unison, looks of disgust appearing on their faces.

From under the Great Golden Wheel Wisdom King...

Even among the Wisdom King factions, the disciples of the Great Golden Wheel Wisdom King were the most bothersome. It couldn’t be helped; their entire way of doing things was just too repulsive.

Wu Chi and the others, on the contrary, became enthusiastic at the sight of him.

”You are Jin Hai’s junior brother?”

”Exactly.”

At the mention of Jin Hai, Jinchi couldn’t help but wipe the dung beads from the corners of his eyes. ”Senior Brother Jin Hai died so suddenly,” he said sadly. ”I was also extremely shocked and heartbroken.”

Hearing this, Suoze empathized with him and offered a reminder: ”Don’t just wipe your tears. Suppress your smile, and force down the corners of your mouth.”

Jinchi hurriedly reined in his expression.

In the master seat, Baohu finally couldn’t watch any longer and spoke up again. ”With the help of you junior brothers, there shouldn’t be any suspense left in this sword contention.”

”What Senior Sister says is entirely correct.”

Jingshan nodded in agreement. ”Since the superiors have already made all the arrangements, we shouldn’t delay. Shall we head straight for Jingyuan Pass and get this over with?”

”No rush,”

Baohu shook her head. ”The superiors want the other side to charge out on their own. Then, we will trap them on the grasslands and slaughter them all in one fell swoop.”

”The script is already written. We just need to handle this calmly and easily. Everyone will get credit, which will also add points to our future Buddhist examinations.”

”Hahaha, absolutely, absolutely!”

For a time, the hosts and guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves in absolute harmony. The atmosphere inside the ancient temple grew incredibly lively as they waited for the unfortunate fools in the script to run out and throw their lives away.

As for Baohu, she was also quite excited.

However, she didn’t care about earning extra points for the Buddhist examination. As a disciple under a Bodhisattva, she was virtually guaranteed to pass it anyway; extra points meant nothing. What she truly valued was the reward she would receive from slaughtering the cultivators under Dousheng and damaging the Great Rebellion imagery on his body.

’Thinking back to the past, the Great Rebellion shattered the thirty-two marks.’

’If not for that ancient event, which made the cultivation of the thirty-two marks increasingly difficult, how could the superiors have pooled their strength to establish the Wisdom King orthodox lineage and lower the difficulty of cultivation?’

Wisdom King disciples didn’t cultivate the thirty-two marks.

As long as they made a great vow and passed the Buddhist examination, they could advance to Ascetic Monks. In the future, they even had the hope of entering the body of a Wisdom King to wield even higher levels of mighty power.

But at the end of the day, all of that was hollow.

A Brahma Cultivator who didn’t practice the thirty-two marks would only ever be a Wisdom King in this life. They would always be a head lower than Arhats, and they would never have any hope of advancing to Bodhisattva.

It wasn’t any different from the Corpse Dissolution Immortals of the Immortal Gate.

’After this is over, I will use Brahma arts to defeat the Great Rebellion and damage its imagery, then convert that into my own meritorious deeds. My Deep Blue Eyes Phase should be able to reach perfection.’

...

Jingyuan Pass.

Using the profound guidance of Land-Walking, Wang Ping led the eight inner sect disciples straight to the exterior of the pass fortress. However, he didn’t rush to enter the pass; instead, he stopped nearby.

’If nothing unexpected happens, the Brahma Nation is already prepared.’

’This time, the Immortal Gate and the Brahma Nation have joined forces to screw me over. With the superiors watching from above, no matter what I do, it’s impossible to hide from their line of sight.’

From the very beginning, this was never a fair contest.

The enemy had full vision of the map, and his own side was entirely composed of traitors. The outcome wouldn’t be surprising—just as they expected, the entire team would be wiped out by the Brahma Nation.

He wouldn’t be able to cultivate the Great Abundance Scripture like this.

’Fortunately, it’s the Brahma Nation receiving the benefits this time. Although the True Person was forced to agree to this, he definitely wouldn’t take the initiative to help provide them with intelligence.’

In other words:

’There is a high probability that only the True Person knows certain things, while the Brahma Nation’s Arhats might not be aware... The True Person might even intentionally conceal them on my behalf.’

For example, his clone.

The next second, in the Great Shun Capital beside the Ever-Suppressing Six Harmonies Cauldron, Wang Ping’s true body suddenly opened his eyes. Then, with a flicker, he vanished from where he stood.

He didn’t know what the Brahma Nation had prepared, nor did he know the True Person’s actual attitude toward this.

But he knew one thing:

’I am going to unleash a massacre!’
