Looking Forward to Another World

”Decided at birth...?”

Yuji muttered, looking stunned.

Just then, Riezel spoke up at just the right moment, slightly correcting Satoru’s explanation.

”Rather than jujutsu itself, shouldn’t we say that a cursed technique, the most common form of jujutsu used by jujutsu sorcerers, is what you’re most likely born with?”

Riezel’s explanation earned Satoru’s approval.

”Yep, more than eighty percent of jujutsu sorcerers in jujutsu society are born with what we call an innate cursed technique, or just an innate technique for short, which is engraved into their bodies from birth. Unless something unusual happens, it can generally only be used by them or by descendants who inherit their bloodline.”

”Jujutsu sorcerers who are born with an innate technique only need to inject their own cursed energy into the technique within their bodies to activate it.”

”Because of this ridiculous setup, jujutsu sorcerer clans with long histories of inheritance usually hold extremely high status and influence within jujutsu society, and this is especially true for the three strongest elite jujutsu sorcerer clans, collectively known as the Big Three Clans.”

”Not only do these three clans possess innate techniques passed down from generation to generation, but they also have more than one.”

”Of course, not every descendant can inherit the innate technique of their predecessors. Some people are born into famous jujutsu sorcerer clans yet have no technique within their bodies, and they might not even have the talent to become jujutsu sorcerers.”

”Even if they do have one, they might inherit a different technique from the one that’s been passed down within their clan.”

As Satoru explained, there was surprisingly little of his usual carefree attitude on his face. Instead, he seemed faintly disgusted.

It was obvious that he personally had little interest in these so-called jujutsu sorcerer clans.

Seeing that, Riezel felt almost embarrassed about exposing his hypocrisy.

After all, Satoru’s own clan was one of the three strongest elite jujutsu sorcerer clans he had just mentioned: the Gojo Clan.

Whether it was the Six Eyes or his innate technique, Satoru had inherited them from the Gojo Clan.

”Anyway, that’s an innate technique, a cursed technique that most jujutsu sorcerers are born with.”

As if to change his mood, Satoru raised one finger.

”Just like I said, learning jujutsu is both pretty simple and pretty damn hard.”

”If you have an innate technique, then all you gotta do is learn how to refine cursed energy. Once you learn how to pour cursed energy into the technique within your body, you’ll naturally be able to use jujutsu.”

”If you don’t have an innate technique, then you can only learn basic barrier techniques, use shikigami, or reinforce your body with cursed energy.”

Hearing that, Riezel had not yet reacted when Yuji raised his hand first.

”Come to think of it, Fushiguro also mentioned something about an innate domain at the Juvenile Detention Center. What’s that?”

Yuji’s words also reminded Riezel of the domain created by the special grade cursed spirit that had absorbed Sukuna’s finger.

”Well, it’s a domain constructed within a certain area by using a massive amount of cursed energy and applying an innate technique to it.”

Satoru waved his hand as he spoke.

”But the subject of innate domains is still too advanced for you guys.”

”Besides, the innate domain constructed by that special grade cursed spirit at the Juvenile Detention Center was only an incomplete form without a technique applied to it. Otherwise, the moment you stepped into that domain, you might’ve already died.”

”We’ll put that subject aside for now. If we get a chance in the future, we’ll talk about it then. For now, let’s get back to jujutsu.”

”Let me give you the conclusion first.”

Satoru pointed at Riezel and Yuji.

”Neither Riezel nor Yuji has an innate technique.”

”So, strictly speaking, neither of you can learn jujutsu that relies on an innate technique.”

In other words, neither Riezel nor Yuji had any talent for innate techniques.

”No way!”

Yuji was genuinely dumbfounded, to the point that he practically turned gray with despair.

Riezel, however, had already guessed that this would be the result, so he remained completely calm.

An innate technique was a technique engraved within one’s body from birth.

Riezel was not even a person from this world, nor was he a lifeform born in this world, so how could he possibly possess an innate technique?

With the Six Eyes, Satoru had seen that neither Riezel nor Yuji possessed an innate technique, yet he merely smiled without making much of it.

”Relax, there are plenty of jujutsu sorcerers in jujutsu society who don’t have innate techniques, and some of them are pretty damn impressive, too.”

”Yuji, your physical ability and hand-to-hand combat skills are already freakishly good. Even I have to admit you’re strong. As long as you learn how to refine cursed energy and use it to reinforce yourself, ordinary jujutsu sorcerers won’t stand a chance against you.”

”Riezel is even more obvious. You’re already ridiculously strong as you are, and you’ve gotten extremely good at refining and using cursed energy. In my opinion, there probably aren’t even five people in the entire jujutsu society who could actually go up against you.”

Right after saying that, Satoru’s smile deepened.

’Being your opponent would be one thing, but whether they could actually gain the upper hand against this special grade curse user is another matter.’

He silently thought that to himself before speaking to the two students in front of him.

”Yuji, your top priority right now is to learn how to refine cursed energy, and then learn how to use cursed energy in combat—that’s what I’ll be teaching you from now on.”

”Once you’ve reached a certain level of proficiency, I’ll have you accompany some seniors on a few missions. That way, you’ll definitely be able to develop your own fighting style quickly.”

”As for Riezel, you can learn barrier techniques, learn how to create and control shikigami, and even learn alternative applications of cursed energy. That way, you can still learn some forms of jujutsu that don’t require an innate technique.”

”Well, those are basically the things you two will be working on from now on. If you have any questions, you can ask them now.”

As soon as Satoru finished speaking, two hands rose in front of him.

Yes, two.

Aside from Yuji, Riezel had also raised his hand.

”Hmm... Yuji, you go first!”

Satoru decided to deal with the question of the one who looked easier to handle first.

”Teacher! Fushiguro and Kugisaki both have their own techniques, right?”

Yuji’s question was pretty simple as he spoke loudly.

’As expected, he’s easier to deal with...’

Satoru nodded in satisfaction.

”Just like me, Megumi comes from one of the Big Three Clans. He inherited the Zenin Clan’s innate technique, which has been passed down through generations. It lets him create and control ten powerful special shikigami by using shadows as a medium. It’s called the Ten Shadows Technique.”

”As for Nobara, she uses the innate technique her grandmother taught her, fighting by combining cursed energy with cursed tools like a hammer, nails, and a straw doll. She also has abilities that can damage souls and launch long-range attacks. It’s called the Straw Doll Technique.”

”Both of those are pretty damn good forms of jujutsu, but as long as you learn how to refine cursed energy and use it in combat, you should be able to become stronger than them, right?”

It should be noted that Yuji’s physical ability and hand-to-hand combat were so extraordinary that they were practically inhuman. With the reinforcement provided by cursed energy, he had every opportunity to become a superhuman specializing in hand-to-hand combat.

Riezel glanced at the energetic pink-haired boy beside him without saying anything.

At that moment, however, Yuji asked the question that interested them the most.

”Now that I think about it, Teacher, what’s your cursed technique?”

Yuji’s question made Satoru raise an eyebrow.

”Wanna know?”

Satoru grinned.

”Uh-huh!”

Yuji nodded repeatedly.

What cursed technique did the strongest jujutsu sorcerer of the modern era use?

Who wouldn’t want to know?

Riezel already knew the answer, but he still became extremely attentive to the question.

If he remembered correctly, Satoru’s cursed technique was absurdly overpowered.

”Well then... it’s time for Teacher Gojo’s demonstration!”

Satoru called out theatrically before extending one hand toward Yuji.

”Come on, Yuji. Punch my hand.”

Yuji immediately widened his eyes.

”Re-Really?”

”Really, really.”

”I’ve got a lot of strength, you know?”

”It’s fine, it’s fine. Go ahead.”

”Uhh... I’m gonna hit you, okay?”

”Go ahead.”

Encouraged by Satoru, Yuji still seemed somewhat hesitant, but he eventually assumed a fighting stance.

Satoru merely continued smiling, showing no concern whatsoever about being punched by someone with extraordinary physical abilities.

As the two faced each other and entered a standoff, Riezel not only activated Transparent World, causing a transparent gleam to appear in his eyes, but faint magic circles resembling shattered glass also suddenly appeared around his body.

He was silently activating Lost Truth with Silent Magic.

”HAAHH!”

Yuji suddenly threw a punch, accompanied by a powerful gust of wind, and struck toward Satoru’s outstretched palm.

If that punch landed on an ordinary person’s body, a fracture would have been the mildest possible outcome. Yet when the punch approached Satoru’s palm, both Riezel and Yuji keenly noticed something.

Surprisingly, the closer the punch got to Satoru’s palm, the slower its speed became.

In the end, Yuji’s fist actually stopped a short distance from Satoru’s palm. No matter how much force he applied, he could not advance even an inch.

”W-What’s this?”

Yuji was shocked.

A look of intense interest also appeared in Riezel’s eyes.

”Pretty amazing, right?”

Satoru continued smiling as he slowly explained.

”This is one of the innate techniques that’s been passed down through generations of the Gojo Clan. It’s an ultimate ability that can only be mastered by someone with eyes like mine. Even if someone else inherits this technique, they still can’t use it.”

”The essence of this technique is the convergence of an infinite series, which is basically ’infinity’ itself.”

”It can mess with matter at the atomic level and control space. The basic idea is to bring the fantastical concept of the Achilles paradox, caused by dividing infinity, into reality, making the controlled space continuously shrink or expand without end.”

Under those circumstances, the distance between Satoru and Yuji appeared to be very short, but in reality, it was infinitely far away, preventing Yuji from ever reaching Satoru.

”This technique has several applications.”

”Under normal circumstances, once the technique is activated, the speed of anything approaching the user gets slower and slower until it eventually comes to a complete stop, leaving the user in a state where they can’t be touched.”

”If the technique is activated through lapse, which strengthens the power of infinity, then the negative infinity of attraction can be used to create an absorption effect that acts on any point.”

”If the technique is activated through reversal, it creates a point that releases an enormous repulsive force. Its maximum output can also reach positive infinity.”

”Simply put, the former is kinda like a miniature black hole, while the latter is kinda like a miniature supernova. Both are manifestations of using infinity to control space.”

As he finished explaining, Satoru deactivated his cursed technique, allowing Yuji’s fist to touch his palm.

By then, however, Yuji’s fist had already lost all its strength.

Needless to say, this was the ultimate technique passed down through generations of the Gojo Clan, a cursed technique that only Satoru, who possessed the Six Eyes and could manipulate cursed energy with extreme precision, was capable of using.

”Limitless.”

Satoru’s voice clearly reached the ears of Riezel and Yuji.

”That’s the name of my innate technique.”

One should know that the Six Eyes were a special gift that appeared only once every several hundred years. A jujutsu sorcerer who possessed them could manipulate cursed energy with such incredible precision that even the most ordinary technique could be turned into something extraordinary.

Because of that unparalleled precision, even the weakest cursed technique could be brought to a level far beyond what it should normally be capable of.

Yet when it came to Limitless, the Six Eyes were not merely an advantage—they were a prerequisite for using the technique at all.

In other words, the precious Six Eyes were not the technique itself, but merely the most basic requirement for using Limitless.

It was easy to imagine just how powerful the technique was.

It could create an inviolable space that enemies could never touch.

It could produce negative infinity of attraction, almost like a miniature black hole.

It could produce positive infinity of repulsion, almost like a miniature supernova.

Interference with and control over space at the atomic level—an ability like that was almost ’invincible’ even in Riezel’s eyes.

And that was also why Satoru was the strongest jujutsu sorcerer of the modern era.

A jujutsu sorcerer who possessed the Six Eyes and could use Limitless seemed to have been born for the sole purpose of becoming the strongest.

If Riezel remembered correctly, when Satoru was born, curses throughout the world had explosively increased in number because of his influence.

From the very moment he was born, he had already begun affecting this world.

Even though they had yet to fight, Riezel had an almost instinctive certainty about one thing: Satoru was definitely the strongest person he had ever encountered. Even the One-Eyed Black Dragon from the world of DanMachi would not be his match.

”...”

Riezel ultimately lowered his head slightly, breaking his gaze from Satoru.

He couldn’t help it.

If he kept watching, he was afraid the corners of his mouth would start rising uncontrollably, and the fighting intent in his eyes would become impossible to suppress.

Truth be told, the excitement boiling inside him almost drove Riezel to challenge Satoru on the spot. Ever since he had reached Level 8 and acquired combat power comparable to Level 9, Riezel had not encountered a single opponent who could force him to fight at full strength.

As for that black dragon, it did not count as an opponent since, in his eyes, it was merely a target that had to be slain.

But Satoru was different.

’He can definitely make me go all out, right?’

Riezel had that feeling, but sadly, now was not the time.

’Limitless...’

He touched his eyes before suddenly asking Satoru a question—a question he had raised his hand to ask, and one of the main reasons he had followed Satoru to Tokyo Jujutsu High.

”Can you teach me how to use that technique properly?”

As soon as those words were spoken, Yuji was one thing, but Satoru was completely stunned.

”Teach you how to use that technique properly? You mean my innate technique, Limitless?”

Even Satoru was confused at this point.

How was he supposed to teach Riezel that?

”I don’t really mind, but Riezel, this isn’t something you can learn just by being taught.” Satoru shrugged. ”Putting aside the fact that Limitless is an innate technique passed down exclusively within the Gojo Clan, making it an inherited technique, there’s also a requirement for using it. Even if someone possesses the technique, they can’t use it without the Six Eyes.”

Riezel, however, disagreed with Satoru’s statement.

”Not necessarily,” Riezel said calmly. ”I mean, the basic requirement for using Limitless isn’t the Six Eyes, but precise cursed energy manipulation, right?”

What he wanted to get across was simple.

”In other words, as long as someone can achieve insanely precise cursed energy manipulation, they should be able to use Limitless even without the Six Eyes.”

Yes, the reason the Six Eyes were necessary was simply because those who possessed them were naturally capable of extremely meticulous cursed energy manipulation.

If that was the case, then the Six Eyes itself was not actually indispensable. As long as someone could train their cursed energy manipulation to a level comparable to that of a Six Eyes user, they should theoretically be able to use Limitless.

”Besides, your Limitless...”

Riezel paused for a moment before suddenly smiling.

”I can already use it.”
