Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Chapter 832 - 343: Level 4 [Fish Pond]; Level 2 [Ant Nest] (10,000-word Special)

But since Old Demon Ji didn’t say anything, he didn’t ask.

So, Ji Yuan started searching from this place, moving eastward, meticulously searching, using his divine sense while also performing spells to aid in the search.

After all, his agreed-upon communication methods with Du Wanyi were more than just one.

He continued eastward until he encountered the first island, where Ji Yuan abruptly entered, closely followed by Liu Yuan, and beneath a huge rock on the shore, they found a turtle shell engraved with symbols.

Ji Yuan quickly deciphered it.

Finally, he received the first message left by Du Wanyi.

”Fourth brother, I found a place to stay in Yunkong City, just settling down temporarily.”

”Remember, absolutely never tell anyone that your name is Ji Yuan, or great disaster will befall you!

Also, this Jiyuan Continent speaks a dialect, learn it from someone before speaking, do not use our Cangluo Continent’s language to speak, it will easily cause trouble.”

After Ji Yuan finished reading the contents of the letter, Liu Yuan immediately said:

”Seems like she also heard about Old Demon Ji, which is why she hurried to leave you a letter.”

”Yes.”

Ji Yuan put away the turtle shell, and his divine sense continued searching on this island.

Liu Yuan continued, ”Yunkong City is right by the Clear Stream River, should we go there now or?”

”We should search all the way back; surely there are other letters left.”

”Okay.”

They continued east, and half a month later, Ji Yuan found the second message on a reef island.

The content was very brief, merely saying still in Yunkong City, safe.

Ji Yuan continued eastward.

This time, it took much longer, a whole month passed before he found Du Wanyi’s turtle shell on an unnamed small island.

The content was substantial.

Already somewhat worried, Ji Yuan became even more concerned upon seeing this turtle shell.

”Fourth brother, why haven’t you come yet? We agreed on at most a year, but now it’s over two years, are you okay?

I recently noticed a strange person always following me; wherever I hide, they appear around me. They even pass through my arrays effortlessly, and I don’t know their cultivation level. I’m very worried... why haven’t you come?”

”That strange person is an old hag, dressed very raggedly, like a beggar, with disheveled hair that looks as if it’s never washed, filled with mud, long fingernails curling inward on all ten fingers, the whole person gives me the feeling of a... ghost.”

Ji Yuan looked at the deciphered letter, and his hand trembled.

Liu Yuan comforted, ”It’s okay, fortunate people have celestial protection; let’s quickly go back and take a look.”

”Yes.”

Ji Yuan stored the turtle shell and the two continued east, reaching the West Coast of the Jiyuan Continent, where they found Du Wanyi’s message again.

”Fourth brother, that strange person is still following me, appearing more frequently now. I don’t dare go out to sea, only dare to leave messages here.

I don’t dare stay in Yunkong City, planning to move to West Border City, heard it’s safer there... She, she’s here, right in front of me.”

The text vanished here.

Ji Yuan seemed to feel Du Wanyi’s fear at that time because he too instinctively raised his head.

But what he saw... was only Liu Yuan.

”This is indeed a bit creepy.”

Liu Yuan too was frowning.

Why does this mysterious person hauntingly pursue Du Wanyi and not others? Is there something special about her?

Ji Yuan stored this last piece of turtle shell, took a deep breath.

”Judging from the remaining aura on the turtle shell, this piece should have been left a year ago. Let’s go investigate Yunkong City and see if we can find any clues; if not, we’ll head back to West Border City. Perhaps the second sister is already there.”

”Okay.”

Liu Yuan nodded promptly, ”I happen to know a friend in West Border City, specializing in tracking clues; we’ll just ask him then.”

”Yes.”

Then the two transformed into escape light and headed straight to Yunkong City by Clear Stream River.

With Liu Yuan, a Core Formation Cultivator, leading the way, gathering news was fairly convenient.

But despite Ji Yuan’s inquiries, no one had heard of any bizarre old hag following anyone.

Ji Yuan searched both inside and outside of Yunkong City with Du Wanyi’s communication talisman, but received no response.

He even released his mid-stage Core Formation divine sense in the end, yet found nothing.

Not only was Du Wanyi’s person absent, but even her traces were undetectable.

She seemed... non-existent.

This feeling made Ji Yuan very uneasy.

If Du Wanyi had mentioned encountering some force causing trouble, it’d be fine, at least there’d be leads.

But she spoke of a sudden appearance of a strange person, as if they kidnapped her; this matter is... too absurd.

”Yunkong City is basically like this, no news, how about we first scout West Border City, she might be over there.”

Liu Yuan comforted.

”Alright.”

Ji Yuan, though downcast, wasn’t disoriented.

Furthermore, even if Du Wanyi was captured by that strange person, Ji Yuan thought the possibility of life-threatening danger was low.

If that person really had such intentions, why wait so long?

They would have acted during their first encounter.

Moreover, Yunkong City has no info on that strange person, which indicates that the person isn’t some demon cultivator capturing people for demon skills.

There must be another reason for targeting Du Wanyi specifically.
