Chapter 595: Chapter 268: Feng Yichen—Situ the Demon

I saw Feng Yichen standing at the forefront of the Flying Boat, first saluting Ran Kui, ”I am Feng Yichen, the Island Master of Yellow Maple Island. Greetings, Brother Wu Dao.”

Situ Feng, also known as the Island Master of Yellow Maple.

”So it is Brother Yellow Maple, I didn’t expect you to be executing a task here. You’ve worked hard.” Ran Kui had an appropriate smile on his face.

Feng Yichen also cooperated by spreading his hands, ”There’s nothing I can do, they need people at Shang Mountain, and the sect also needs someone to manage things. To tell Brother the truth, I’ve been busy for several years now... Brother Ji at the back is a close friend of mine, he knows me well.”

”Oh?”

Ran Kui turned to look at his junior brother.

Ji Yuan seemed to take a step forward from the Wind Willow Flying Boat, but his figure didn’t seem to move much. He bowed to Feng Yichen with a smile, ”It’s been a long time, Brother Feng. You still have the same elegance as before.”

”Brother Ji, you’re too kind.”

Feng Yichen also smiled and then looked at Li Yuan, the Sect Leader of Black Dragon Island, who was behind. He saw Li Yuan frowning slightly, ”May I ask if you all are here regarding the disappearance of the cultivator?”

Ji Yuan said nothing, nor did Ran Kui.

Only Li Yuan was smiling but found it difficult to speak.

He also knew that even among fellow members of the Water Dragon Sect, some secrets need to be kept hidden, just like executing tasks, which must be kept confidential.

Seeing this, Feng Yichen gave an awkward smile, ”It’s like this, I’ve been here a few days and accidentally discovered something. I was just about to inform you, Brother.”

”What did Brother Yellow Maple discover?”

Li Yuan hurriedly asked upon hearing this.

Feng Yichen looked at him, finally settling his gaze on Ran Kui before he spoke, ”There’s a Demon Beast lurking in the dark, a Three-eyed Dark Beast, walking in shadows and killing without a trace. Please be careful, brothers. I have tasks to attend to, so I will take my leave.”

After saying this, Feng Yichen clasped his fists towards everyone, then urged his Flying Boat to turn around and left.

”Three-eyed Dark Beast, how can it be such a creature?!”

Li Yuan turned pale with fear.

After all, if it truly were this creature, it wouldn’t matter if it was him; even if the sect’s ancestor came out, they wouldn’t be able to withstand it!

...a Three-eyed Dark Beast, does this place truly have such a thing?

Ji Yuan had once used this creature when advancing in level. Thoughts flashed through his mind rapidly, and then he glanced at the departing Flying Boat. He suddenly unleashed his Divine Sense, comparable to a Golden Core, and pursued the figure of Feng Yichen. Then he sent a message via Telepathy:

”Daoist Situ, are your words to be taken seriously?”

Originally driving the Flying Boat elegantly away, Feng Yichen froze when he heard this question; his originally relaxed expression instantly stiffening, but quickly reverted to natural.

”Oh? Which brother may this be? I didn’t expect our Water Dragon Sect to be so lively, with everyone crowding over here.”

Feng Yichen slowed down the speed of the Flying Boat and spoke within his own sea of consciousness.

Ji Yuan, not knowing who else in the Shang Court was present, could only speak the truth.

”I’m with Manor Master Mei.”

”Red Thunder True Person? White Crane Daoist, or... Daisy, it should not be Daisy. Are you White Crane Daoist or Red Thunder Daoist?”

Feng Yichen inquired further.

Ji Yuan silently noted down the names of these three people, then unhurriedly said, ”A name is just a code, Daoist Situ, let’s talk about it. Is there really a Three-eyed Dark Beast here?”

”The rest of the matters can be discussed back at the sect.”

”No, it’s fake, I was just spouting nonsense to scare a group of children. How could there be a Three-eyed Dark Beast here, haha, just kidding.”

Feng Yichen let out a hearty laugh.

Once he finished speaking, Ji Yuan’s figure had already left the furthest range that his Divine Sense could probe.

With no further Telepathy, Feng Yichen heaved a sigh of relief. He glanced back at the departing figures of Ji Yuan and the others, smiling inwardly.

Three-eyed Dark Beast?

Does it exist?

Perhaps, unsure if that old fellow still has any.

To him, why should I, Situ Feng, tell you the truth? Have you forgotten that back in the Shang Court days, everyone used to call me... Situ the Demon!

’Interesting, staying here might offer quite a spectacle, unfortunately, there are more important matters to attend to, so I’ll have to miss this show.’

”...”

”What Feng Yichen says is not trustworthy, mixed with truths and lies.”

Ji Yuan first sent a message to his senior brother and senior sister, saying this, then after some consideration, he said again:

”He had long been taken over by the Nascent Soul Monster of the Shang Court. His appearance here likely indicates a major issue at this location. I think the matter is probably not simple.”

”What? He was possessed by someone from the Shang Court?!”

Ran Kui was the first to react, then hurriedly sent a message, ”Junior brother, are you sure? If so, we must quickly inform the Master and the Sect Leader Martial Uncle!”

”No need, they already know, and it seems they intentionally allowed the people of Shang Court to remain within our sect.”

Ji Yuan had already learned this from Hua Yaoyue and confirmed it with Kong Xifeng.

”But why is this?”

Phoenix Peach asked with curiosity.

”Don’t know, but what I do know is that what Feng Yichen says is unreliable, perhaps there isn’t a Three-eyed Dark Beast, but there’s definitely something fishy here.”

Ji Yuan confidently stated.

People from the Shang Court are just no good.

”So, by junior brother’s suggestion, shall we first return to the sect and inform the Master and Sect Leader?”

”...If it were up to me, I would indeed do so.”

Ji Yuan hesitated for a moment but still expressed his thoughts.

Serving the sect is one thing, but risking one’s life for it... that’s another.

”Let’s see how it goes, after all, I’ve already formed the Core, and even if the sect dispatches other Golden Core Cultivators, it might not be better than having me.”
