Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Chapter 426: Chapter 214: [Spiritual Energy Cannon] → [Falling Star Cannon]_2

”No need, no need, I’m just curious.”

Ji Yuan quickly said.

Even if each cost 800 Mid-grade Spirit Stones, five pieces would add up to 4,000 Mid-grade Spirit Stones... Ji Yuan didn’t expect this to be the most valuable thing for upgrading the Spiritual Energy Cannon.

The most important part was that Hua Yaoyue gave it to him without the slightest hesitation because he needed it.

’Master’s kindness, it’s quite heavy.’

Ji Yuan silently noted this matter and then returned to Wuyou Island.

Recently, Dong Qian, for some unknown reason, had gone on a trip.

Ji Yuan asked if she needed help, but she said she didn’t and didn’t mention where she was going, just that it would take some time.

Since she didn’t want to say, Ji Yuan didn’t feel it was right to press further.

And not long after she left, Du Wanyi also took on the sect’s missions and left.

The resources needed for cultivation are vast, and staying at home yields nothing. It’s better to take sect missions to earn Spirit Stones and look for other opportunities to strengthen oneself.

Times have changed.

If it were before, they could naturally cultivate slowly and gradually build their strength, but now, with the battle between good and evil approaching, they must try every possible means to quickly enhance their power.

Ji Yuan reckoned that Dong Qian’s reason for going out was mostly likely the same.

Otherwise, with her cautious nature, she would surely hide in the sect and focus on alchemy, so why would she go out to take risks?

And this added some pressure to Ji Yuan, making it seem necessary to quickly condense the sword embryo.

Reaching the highest point of Wuyou Island, Ji Yuan then took out the Spiritual Energy Cannon.

Without activating it, it still appeared as a stone sculpture.

Ji Yuan’s right hand brushed over it, and suddenly a large pile of items appeared on the ground.

A hill of Mid-grade Spirit Stones, five Spirit Stones emitting white light.

pounds of starlit black mineral.

Plus one water-blue Tier Three Demon Pill.

After placing everything properly, Ji Yuan glanced at the interface.

(Not Fulfilled) had changed to (Fulfilled).

Since that’s the case... let’s upgrade then.

As he willed it, all the Immortal Materials on the ground transformed into beams of light and were absorbed into the Spiritual Energy Cannon.

Then the Spiritual Energy Cannon began to change.

The base spread out in all directions, and its entire size was increasing.

Even though no one was carving it, the array patterns on the silver rings extended outward on their own.

Compared to before, they became more complex and mysterious.

Even Ji Yuan, a genuine Tier Two Array Master, was a bit puzzled... if he could transcribe these array patterns and give them to his second senior brother, it might be of help to him.

Next were the gradually enlarging silver rings.

The existing silver rings grew larger, with new silver rings slowly appearing in the space left in between.

Array patterns also adorned them.

This transformation lasted for half a cup of tea, and finally, the brand new Spiritual Energy Cannon appeared before Ji Yuan’s eyes.

He looked up to see that the size of the Level 2 Spiritual Energy Cannon was twice as large as the Level 1.

The energy-storing silver rings increased from five to ten.

Ji Yuan pointed with his right hand, and the Spiritual Qi from his body entered the brand new Spiritual Energy Cannon, allowing him to understand its specific effects.

The attack remained divided into three tiers.

Only now, the first tier equated to a full-powered strike at the early stage of the Golden Core, with each activation costing 900 Mid-grade Spirit Stones.

The second tier equated to a full-powered strike at the mid-stage of the Golden Core, with each activation costing 3,000 Mid-grade Spirit Stones.

The third tier was equivalent to the peak of the Golden Core, with each activation... damn it, costing 100 Upper-grade Spirit Stones?

Damn, doesn’t that mean it costs 10,000 Mid-grade Spirit Stones?

Is the peak of the Golden Core this valuable?

But after thinking about it, after the peak of the Golden Core comes the Nascent Soul, and a Nascent Soul elder could govern an Immortal Sect like Shang Dong. Calculating this way, the peak of the Golden Core is indeed valuable.

In the Water Dragon Sect, other than the Nascent Soul elder, the next tier consists of the Great Elder and the third elder at the late stage of the Golden Core.

Doesn’t that mean my Spiritual Energy Cannon is now stronger than the Great Elder’s?!

It’s just that activating it with full power costs 10,000 Mid-grade Spirit Stones, and Ji Yuan estimated that with his wealth... he’d have to sell all he had to barely employ it once.

Moreover, the attack does indeed have the ability to lock onto a target.

Once locked on by the Spiritual Energy Cannon, as long as the target is within its attack range, it’s essentially guaranteed to hit.

The only concern is that once the target is locked, they will undoubtedly try to destroy it before the Spiritual Energy Cannon can hit them.

Therefore, when to use it remains a situational decision.

It’s just...

’I really damn want to fire a shell just to see.’

The idea is tempting, but Ji Yuan ultimately abandoned it.

Firstly, the aftermath of activation is too grand. Even if he were to activate it on Mist Island, it might still draw the Golden Core Zhenren from Water Dragon Island to investigate.

Secondly, it’s too costly... each shot is 900 stones, Ji Yuan really can’t afford it.

After putting away the Spiritual Energy Cannon, Ji Yuan looked at the interface again.

He intended to see what the Spirit Effect of a Level 3 Spiritual Energy Cannon was, but upon looking at it, he found that the Spiritual Energy Cannon... was missing.

Instead, appearing before him was something called the Meteor Cannon.

Meteor Cannon: Level 3 (Not Upgradable)

Spirit Effect: Bright Sun Gathers, Meteor Descends. Capable of slaying a mid-stage Nascent Soul Cultivator at maximum.

Upgrade Conditions: 20,000 Mid-grade Spirit Stones; Tier Three Array Master; Tier Three Artifact Refiner; 2 Energy Stones; 10 pounds of Bright Sun Meteorite Rock; 1 Tier Four Demon Pill. (Not Fulfilled)
