Longevity: Comprehending the Heart Method

Song Changsheng’s explanation convinced the elders. The Elder Council finally agreed to cultivate a batch of Foreign Cultivators, and the Immortal Ascension Conference would be held jointly with the clan’s own event, with Foreign Affairs Elder Song Luyun personally taking charge.

After settling the matter, Song Changsheng turned to Song Luzhou and said, ”Fifth Uncle, are the materials for the Foundation Establishment Pills ready?”

”The three main ingredients grown by the clan have all matured and gone to seed under Qingxi’s meticulous care. I’ve set aside the seeds. A while ago, I refined a batch of Foundation Establishment Pills, yielding six pills.

As you instructed before you left, we compensated the Liuyun Sect with two pills and the Wang Clan with one. Including the one left over from last time, we have four pills remaining in total.

Furthermore, after taking inventory, we discovered the Demon Pill of a Great Demon and a perfectly preserved Dragon Blood Ginseng in the Lieyang Sect’s Treasure Vault.

We just need to gather all the supplementary herbs, and I’ll be able to refine two more batches of Foundation Establishment Pills.

Additionally, in their medicinal garden, there were three fruit-bearing Star Tempering Fruit Trees, four flowering Foundation Establishment Fruit Trees, and three immature Dragon Blood Ginsengs.

All these Spirit Medicines have now been transplanted to our clan’s Medicinal Garden. We just need to wait a few more decades before they can be used.”

Speaking of this, Song Luzhou couldn’t suppress the joy on his face.

Although the Song Clan had a 500-year foundation, due to bad luck and some accidents, they had found it difficult to refine Foundation Establishment Pills independently. It was only in the last few decades that they had finally gathered the three main ingredients.

But these three main ingredients have an extremely long growth cycle, often taking two or three hundred years. Even cultivating them regardless of cost would take over a century for them to mature. It was simply not enough, leading to a long period of scarcity.

The spoils from the Lieyang Sect this time have greatly shortened this period of scarcity, which is of immense significance to the Song Clan.

”The seven-hundred-year Lieyang Sect... its foundation was truly nothing to scoff at,” Song Luyun sighed softly.

In the Lieyang Sect’s history, spanning more than seven hundred years, a total of six Purple Mansion Cultivators had appeared, and the number of Foundation Establishment Cultivators was consistently maintained at over twenty.

This was all thanks to the vast foundation accumulated for the Lieyang Sect by its first-generation ancestor.

If it weren’t for He Tai’s ambition to annex Ling Province, which led to the constant depletion of the Lieyang Sect’s foundation, they would not have ended up in their current state.

”Since we’re on the topic, Mother, please report the spoils of war from this battle to the elders.”

”Alright.”

Xia Yunxue nodded, took out a small booklet, and said, ”From this battle, we seized a total of two Magical Treasures, four Tier Three items, twelve Spiritual Artifacts, 130,000 Spirit Stones, three Tier Three Red Peaches, and six stalks of Bone Healing Grass...

From the ruins of the Scripture Pavilion, we salvaged two Tier Three Heart Methods: the Red Torrent Golden Flame Scripture and the Thousand Mountains and Ten Thousand Spirits Scripture. We also recovered the Little Divine Techniques: Celestial Yang Finger, Star-Picking Hand, and Mountain Shattering Finger.

There are also over three hundred other Cultivation Technique Manuals of Tier Three or lower, which are currently being sorted and cataloged.”

Xia Yunxue read on for nearly half an ancient hour before she finished listing the spoils from the battle.

If Wang Yuesong hadn’t squandered and destroyed so many treasures, this list would have been even longer. After all, a seven-hundred-year foundation was not to be underestimated.

It was clear that for a long time to come, the Song Clan would not have to worry about resources. After all, their recent gains had been substantial.

The faces of the Song Clan elders were all beaming with smiles. The clan was rich now, which meant their own stipends could be raised.

And Song Changsheng did not disappoint them. With a grand wave of his hand, he announced magnanimously, ”After the meeting, any Elder who does not yet have a Spiritual Artifact may go to the Clan Treasure Vault and select one appropriate for their Cultivation.

Elders who already possess a Spiritual Artifact may receive a bottle of Tier Two Top Grade Essence Enhancing Pills to aid their cultivation.

As for clan members below Foundation Establishment, Pills and Magical Artifacts will be distributed according to their Cultivation. Everyone gets a share!”

The hall immediately erupted in thunderous applause. Only Song Luzhou’s face grew darker and darker, because this single act would cost at least several hundred thousand Spirit Stones.

Although he felt that Song Changsheng was a spendthrift, he didn’t say anything.

For one, he was no longer in charge of the clan’s finances.

Secondly, they had just gone through several major battles, and it was time to let the clan members celebrate. He couldn’t bring himself to be a wet blanket at a time like this.

Moreover, what relieved Song Luzhou was that Song Changsheng hadn’t mentioned raising stipends—that would have been the real expense.

”Clan Leader, it’s time we finalized the plans for the Purple Mansion Grand Ceremony. We’ll need you to decide which influences to invite,” Song Luyun said, standing up.

”Let’s keep the Purple Mansion Grand Ceremony simple. We’ll set it for one month from now. Besides the major Foundation Establishment Influences in Ling Province and Yang Province, send invitations to the Golden Crow Sect, the Celestial Vein Sect, the Celestial Sword Sect, Hundred Herbs Hall, the Demon Suppression Hall, and the Huansha Sect.

As for our subordinate influences, just send a messenger to inform them. For the rest, I’ll have to trouble you to make the trips personally, Aunt.”

”What about Luoxia City...”

”I will personally pay a visit to my Teacher.”

”Understood.” Song Luyun nodded, her mind already calculating who to send to deliver the invitations.

”Does anyone else have clan affairs to bring to the council?” Song Changsheng asked, looking around.

”I have one more matter to raise.”

Song Luzhou took a palm-sized Jade Token from his robes and presented it to Song Changsheng. ”During this time, the clan has acquired a large number of Foundation Establishment Pills. The previously selected Foundation Establishment Seeds have either perished or already broken through to Foundation Establishment.

With the great war just concluded, most of our clan members have seen significant progress in their cultivation. I’ve compiled the numbers: there are a total of twenty-one clan members who meet the criteria to be Foundation Establishment Seeds. Of those, twelve are between the ages of eighteen and forty, and have reached the stage of Qi Refining Great Perfection.”
