Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 14: Chapter 13 The Final Battle_1

”Hand it over to you?”

Immediately, several skeptical looks fell on the young man in black.

”Who are you?”

They didn’t remember there being such an individual in the Underground Martial Arena.

”I am a disciple of Divine Intent Sect, my name is Feng Chong.” The young man in black introduced himself. He knew that his identity could not be concealed in front of these Black Market figures, so he might as well say it outright.

”A disciple of Divine Intent Sect, so you and Ling Chen come from the same sect. We can’t allow you to fight Ling Chen then; who’s to say you won’t intentionally lose?”

”Don’t worry, I have a grudge against Ling Chen. I came here to settle the score with him. I hope you seniors can give me this chance.”

Feng Chong was sent by Yun Tianhe to deal with Ling Chen. The martial arts platform was obviously the best place to do this. After all, it was normal for someone to die on this platform; it was the perfect place to kill Ling Chen.

”In addition, I won’t take any of your commission. How about that? This is a win-win situation.”

The people of the Black Market only cared about their interests. Feng Chong did not believe that these people would not be moved by this offer.

”Fine, you can participate in this final match.”

Before the several deacons could speak, the leader of the Black Market had already made the call. ”I want to ask one more question: are you intending to take Ling Chen’s life on the platform?”

Hearing this, Feng Chong’s expression changed slightly. After hesitating for a moment, he nodded. ”Yes.” Then he asked somewhat tentatively, ”You won’t try to stop me, will you?”

”Why should I stop you?”

A smirk appeared at the corner of the Black Market leader’s mouth. ”If you can kill Ling Chen, that’s big news. It will only make my Underground Martial Arena more notorious. I have no reason to stop you, as long as you’re capable.”

”That’s good.”

Feng Chong finally breathed a sigh of relief, and then a confident expression quickly appeared on his face. ”Don’t worry, I am not comparable to those ordinary fighters. Today will be this guy’s death anniversary.”

With that, Feng Chong turned and leaped onto the platform.

”It’s you? Junior Brother Feng Chong.”

Seeing Feng Chong step onto the platform, Ling Chen’s expression changed slightly, then a mocking smile appeared on his face.

”Shut up! How dare you call me Junior Brother!”

Feng Chong’s face darkened, and he shouted angrily.

”Hehe, but didn’t you insist I call you that? Junior Brother Feng Chong.”

Ling Chen’s mouth curled up in amusement; there was a reason for his calling him so. Previously, Feng Chong was his close friend, but after Ling Chen experienced an accident, Feng Chong immediately changed allegiance and joined Yun Tianhe.

Feng Chong was naturally much older than Ling Chen, but he insisted on Ling Chen calling him Junior Brother, saying that in the sect, seniority was based on strength, with the stronger being the elder. Hence, Ling Chen naturally called him Junior Brother.

”You bastard, I will make sure you can never utter those three words again!”

Channeling his True Qi, Feng Chong’s white clothes fluttered without wind, and a cold wave of True Qi radiated from his body. With a stomp of his foot, he launched himself like a drifting wild goose, unleashing countless palm strikes toward Ling Chen.

”Snow Covers Rivers and Mountains!”

Feng Chong’s prowess was incomparable to Cao Meng’s. This Drifting Snow Palm Technique was a low-ranked Earth grade palm technique, its power much greater than the Fierce Tiger Fist.

CHISSH! CHISSH! CHISSH!

The air was instantly sliced open, white palm strikes appearing layer upon layer, as far as the eye could see.

”Break!”

Ling Chen met the attacks without backing down, his sword techniques emerging in rapid succession—like a hundred arrows released at once, like a torrential river—aggressively colliding with the countless palm strikes.

In an instant, the sound of air exploding echoed repeatedly, creating a turbulent wind in the center of the arena powerful enough to blow away a fierce tiger.

Feng Chong’s face changed. ”How is this possible? With your strength, you shouldn’t be able to break my palm strikes.”

”There are more things you couldn’t have anticipated than just this.”

Ling Chen sneered. ”Did Yun Tianhe send you to take my life? It seems he’s scared; he can’t even wait a month.”

”Scared?”

Feng Chong laughed contemptuously. ”Scared? For Senior Brother Yun Tianhe to kill you is as easy as flipping his hand. He had me act just to prevent any unexpected delays. Ling Chen, the Divine Intent Sect can no longer tolerate your presence, so just die!”

”Heartbreaking Strike!”

His attack pattern shifting, Feng Chong’s clothes fluttered as he flew forward. During his flight, his right hand, five fingers spread like an iron hook, was about to grab Ling Chen’s shoulder.

At that moment, Ling Chen felt as if he were being targeted by a bird of prey. I can’t let him lock onto me, he thought. Otherwise, even if I’m not injured, I’ll be controlled.

SWISH!

Ling Chen’s body floated backward, leaving a faint afterimage where he had stood.

Feng Chong tore through the afterimage with one claw strike. When he looked up, a single point suddenly appeared before his eyes.

It was a point of Sword Light!

Damn!

The Sword Light had barely appeared when, in a blink, it was right before Feng Chong.

Damn it!

He didn’t expect his opponent to still have the strength to counterattack! And this strike... there’s nowhere to hide, nowhere to dodge! It was clearly a move that had been brewing for a long time, just waiting for this very opportunity!

”Get lost!”

Feng Chong roared angrily, his right hand shooting out. His two fingers made a pinching motion in the Void, intending to block Ling Chen’s attack and snap Ling Chen’s sword blade.

Of course, Ling Chen would not be fooled by such a minor tactic. The Long Sword’s trajectory was erratic, like flowers in a mirror or the moon in water. Illusory sword light spread out as it struck multiple times.

PCHI!

The Sword Light, like a Spirit Snake, grazed Feng Chong’s palm, leaving a bloody mark.

A drop of fresh blood dripped from the tip of Ling Chen’s sword.

”Feng Chong is injured!”

On the viewing stand, a Deacon exclaimed in surprise.

How is this possible? How can this kid be so difficult to deal with?

Feng Chong’s heart sank. Ling Chen was much more difficult to deal with than he had expected. This guy’s growth rate is simply terrifying!

I refuse to believe I can’t handle you!

Suppressing the killing intent in his heart, Feng Chong knew that if he couldn’t kill Ling Chen on this platform, he wouldn’t have another chance later. Moreover, killing Ling Chen here could make him famous throughout the land and earn him the glorious reputation of having slain the Martial World’s number one genius.

But I can’t rush now. With my strength, as long as I remain calm, Ling Chen is definitely not my match.

Taking a step forward, Feng Chong unleashed the subsequent three stances of the Drifting Snow Palm Technique, launching a fierce assault on Ling Chen.

The Palm Power was like a snowstorm, each wave stronger than the last, constantly pressuring Ling Chen.

At this moment, Feng Chong seemed to have changed tactics. He was no longer taking reckless risks but fighting cautiously and steadily, trying to wear Ling Chen down.

”Feng Chong is quite smart. He knows where his advantage lies and has changed his tactics. If he can maintain this, he might really be able to kill Ling Chen.”

The leader of the Black Market was still stroking his chin, a look of keen interest on his face.

”Ling Chen is a disciple of the Divine Intent Sect. If he dies in our Underground Martial Arena, will it cause any problems?” a Deacon asked with some concern.

”No, it won’t. If Ling Tianyu were still alive, we might need to consider preserving Ling Chen’s life. But at present, Ling Chen is merely an ordinary disciple in the Divine Intent Sect; they probably wouldn’t care too much about his life or death.”

”Life and death are irrelevant here; that’s the rule of our Underground Martial Arena. If you lack strength and die, you have no one to blame but yourself.”

The deacons discussed amongst themselves.

”Enough, no more debate. I’m merely saying it’s a possibility,” the Black Market leader said, waving his hand. ”I think it’s not entirely impossible that this kid, Ling Chen, is deliberately feigning weakness.”

”Feigning weakness? Leader, aren’t you overestimating Ling Chen?”

The Deacon next to him shook his head. After all, Ling Chen had already fought ten matches in a row. With his Sixth Layer Realm Martial Arts Cultivation, his True Qi was severely depleted. It was normal for him to be struggling now; there surely wouldn’t be any problem.

At this point, the two on the martial arts platform had exchanged more than thirty moves. Suddenly, Ling Chen’s swordsmanship slowed for a split second, exposing a lethal flaw.

Now’s the time!

A glint of delight flashed in Feng Chong’s eyes. ”Die!”

Seizing the opportunity, Feng Chong took the initiative, launching an attack with a palm strike aimed at Ling Chen’s throat.

Just as his palm was about to reach Ling Chen, a sly smile suddenly appeared at the corner of Ling Chen’s mouth.

Not good!

Feng Chong’s heart cried out in alarm. I’ve been tricked!

However, by the time he realized it, it was already too late. Ling Chen suddenly changed his move; a powerful Sword Energy, contained within a dragon’s roar, abruptly erupted.

”White Dragon Passing the Gap!”

The sword light was like a shuttle, like a white steed flashing past a crack, swift to the extreme as it blazed by.
