Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 1811: Chapter 1811: Rising Star (13)

Chuzheng and Gu Yu left, and Madam Qin couldn’t very well chase after them.

”What did she say?”

Father Qin came over from the other side, frowning as he asked Madam Qin.

Madam Qin shook her head. ”She said she didn’t fool the Gu Family... That should be true. Where would she get that kind of money?”

Father Qin pondered for a moment. ”Could it be Gu Yu who bought it for her?”

Madam Qin thought for a bit, then said, ”Just now she went over to Gu Yu on her own... They looked closer than before. It’s possible.”

Chuzheng couldn’t afford it, but Gu Yu definitely could.

Father Qin and Madam Qin automatically pinned this on Gu Yu, thinking he’d paid for it to please Old Madam Gu, then had Chuzheng deliver it.

-

Near the end of the birthday banquet, someone noticed Qiao Wei was missing.

Nobody could get through to her phone, Qiao Wei’s car was still in the garage, and no one had seen her leave. Old Madam Gu hurriedly sent people to look for her.

Fortunately, a lot of guests had already left by then, so it didn’t cause too big a scene.

They spent over an hour searching before finally finding her in a storage room.

Gu Yu gave Chuzheng a meaningful look; she calmly watched as they carried Qiao Wei out and sent her to the hospital.

Old Madam Gu’s face was grim as she ordered people to find out who did it.

But even after Qiao Wei woke up, she couldn’t say anything clear. Instead, someone said they’d last seen Qiao Wei leaving with a servant.

But now that servant was nowhere to be found in the villa. Some people said he’d left very early on.

With so much time having passed, who knew where that servant had run off to.

-

Because of what happened to Qiao Wei, Old Madam Gu was in a foul mood. Not until the hospital called back saying it was nothing serious did she finally relax.

If something had really happened in the Gu Family’s home, the Gu Family would have to bear responsibility too.

”You must find that servant!!” Bold as brass—daring to make trouble in the Gu Family’s house.

The Butler by her side said, ”Miss Qiao Wei’s side said she had a small argument with that servant, and he lost his temper and tied her up there.”

Old Madam Gu: ”That Qiao Wei girl said that?”

”Yes, Miss Qiao Wei said to just let this matter go.”

Of course Qiao Wei didn’t dare pursue it. If they really dragged that servant back, wouldn’t what she did be exposed too?

And besides...

She felt this matter absolutely had something to do with Chuzheng.

Old Madam Gu pondered for a moment. ”Send someone to bring some things over to that girl Qiao Wei. If she has any requests, tell her to speak freely.”

”Yes, ma’am.”

Old Madam Gu added, ”We still have to investigate that servant.”

The Butler agreed at once and went to make arrangements.

Once this was handled, the old house quieted down, leaving only servants cleaning up the aftermath.

Chuzheng and Gu Yu were called into the study by Old Madam Gu for a talk.

Most of it was lecturing Gu Yu about being immature and telling him to take good care of Chuzheng and so on.

Old ladies, after all, just keep saying the same things over and over.

Gu Yu listened until he was nodding off, propping his head up with one hand, his body turned slightly toward Old Madam Gu.

Gu Yu’s head was suddenly smacked by something, and a throw pillow landed by his feet.

”You brat, I’m talking to you and you’re nodding off!!” Old Madam Gu cursed angrily, then turned and spoke gently to Chuzheng, ”You two must be tired today. Your room is already prepared, hurry and go rest.”

Chuzheng didn’t get any chance to refuse; Old Madam Gu had already arranged everything for the rest of the night down to the last detail.

After finishing, Old Madam Gu immediately turned to bellow at Gu Yu again. ”You brat, take good care of the young lady, you hear me!”

Gu Yu: ”...”

Am I really your biological grandson?

Gu Yu glanced at Chuzheng, growing even more wary that this woman was up to something.

”Got it, Grandma.”

Only then did Old Madam Gu let them go. ”Alright, alright, go rest now.”

-

Chuzheng thought ”preparing a room” meant preparing two rooms. She didn’t expect Old Madam Gu to be this ruthless and only arrange one room.

Chuzheng: ”...”

I don’t really mind.

Even though the Bastard hadn’t issued a mission yet, she could be sure this was her Good Person Card.

Gu Yu’s face went dark on the spot. ”I’ll go sleep in a guest room.”

He pushed his wheelchair toward the door. As soon as he opened it, he saw the old house’s Butler standing outside with a kindly smile. ”Young Master, do you need something?”

”I’m going to sleep in a guest room.”

The Butler: ”Young Master, all the guest rooms are full.”

Gu Yu: ”???”

Full of what, ghosts?

Aside from those relatives, who else was staying here? And the rooms on this floor wouldn’t be casually given to outsiders. How could they be full! Are we housing ghosts now?!

”There are quite a few guests staying over tonight. And the old madam said, you and Miss Qin are husband and wife from now on. It’s no big deal to start cultivating some feelings early. We old folks understand young people.”

Gu Yu: ”...”

Cultivate what feelings!

Understand what?

You’re an old lady, why are you so trendy!!

The Butler blocked the doorway, not letting Gu Yu out.

Whenever things got tense he’d invoke Old Madam Gu, leaving Gu Yu completely helpless. In the end, he could only back his wheelchair into the room.

”Mr. Gu, are you afraid I’ll do something to you?”

”Heh.”

Gu Yu gave a cold laugh. Him, afraid?

”Looks like Miss Qin has amnesia. You’ve forgotten everything you said before. Don’t you feel your face stinging?”

What had she said before?

That just breathing the same air in the same Space as him made her sick.

”...”

What the original host said has nothing to do with me!

I’m not her!!

The original host is such a pig!!

Chuzheng remained expressionless. ”I was young and foolish before. Mr. Gu, don’t hold it against me.”

Gu Yu: ”...”

Gu Yu couldn’t be bothered to argue with her.

This woman was clearly determined not to acknowledge any of her past behavior.

-

This should be Gu Yu’s room. There were quite a few of his personal things, and lots of posters from when he acted in dramas.

The room was quite big, but there was only one bed.

Both Chuzheng and Gu Yu stared at that bed. Relying on fully functional limbs, Chuzheng sat on it first, before Gu Yu could move.

”I’m the guest, I get the bed.”

Gu Yu: ”...”

Gu Yu held himself back. ”There should be blankets in the wardrobe. Take them out and make me a bed on the floor.”

”You can...” Forget it, I’ll go.

Chuzheng took out a blanket and spread it on the floor.

Gu Yu braced his hands on the armrests, and before he could exert strength, Chuzheng had already come over and pushed him to the side of the bed.

”Isn’t Miss Qin going to sleep on the bed?”

”...”

Chuzheng said nothing, just helped Gu Yu up and onto the bed, then brought water for him to wash his face and hands, and finally to wash his feet.

Gu Yu frowned. ”Why are you trying so hard to curry favor with me?”

”Curry favor?” Chuzheng was baffled.

Would I need to curry favor with you?

If I want to be good to you, I’ll just be good to you!

”Isn’t that it?” Gu Yu suddenly looked enlightened. ”You’re not trying to get me to help you get into a drama, are you?”

Gu Yu curled his lips in mockery. ”To get close to the man you’re pining after, you’re really willing to bend and stretch.”

Chuzheng mulled it over for a moment, decided he kind of had a point, and nodded. ”Mm.”

Isn’t that bending and stretching? Look how good I am to you. I’m such a good person, you’d better cherish me.

Gu Yu: ”...”

Gu Yu refused to let Chuzheng wash his feet.

She’d strong-armed him into letting her wash his face and hands earlier; before he could react, she’d already finished.

Now Chuzheng was grabbing his leg to wash his feet. This was going too far!

Chuzheng asked skeptically, ”You can manage on your own?”

”I’m not washing!” he shouted furiously.
