Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 1711: Chapter 1711: Born on the Margins (25)

Now buying clothes is a piece of cake for Chuzheng; she can settle it in no time.

Sang Yu was a bit shocked: ”You want to shoot with this many outfits?”

When would they finish shooting? One day wouldn’t be enough at all.

”No.” Chuzheng just picked one outfit to change into, and asked the shop to send the rest to her home: ”Just shooting the one.”

Shooting so many would be crazy?

Sang Yu took a slight breath: ”Then why buy so many?”

”Is there a problem?” You think I want to buy them? Not like I wasn’t forced.

”No...” It’s her money, what opinions could he have?

Sang Yu paused: ”Actually, you’d probably look better in that red dress.”

Her skin is so good; red would really bring out her aura.

Chuzheng: ”...”

The one she’s wearing doesn’t look good?

Chuzheng glanced in the mirror, feeling good about herself, mostly because she’s good-looking.

”Try that one on, I’ll take you somewhere.” Sang Yu suggested.

”...”

Chuzheng rarely wore long dresses because she found them restrictive and worried about accidental exposures in a scuffle.

But since the Good Person Card asked, how could she refuse?

-

Shopping and the road took some time, and they arrived around noon.

Sang Yu wasn’t in a rush; he first took Chuzheng to lunch, then led her to the shooting spot after.

The architecture here was indeed perfect for photography, with great lighting and plenty of people shooting here too.

For Chuzheng, the hassle of photoshoots was pure torture, constantly changing poses and outfits.

Sometimes she’d pose forever, and the photos still wouldn’t turn out well.

Chuzheng felt it was just torment.

And the one tormenting her was her Good Person Card.

She endured!

A girl can’t admit defeat.

Sang Yu showed Chuzheng the camera: ”It’ll look great here at night; do you want to shoot night scenes?”

Night scenes...

Chuzheng quickly nodded: ”Sure.”

There were still several hours before the night, so Sang Yu took Chuzheng for a walk around, snapping a few street photos of her along the way.

”Have you ever thought about holding your own photography exhibition?”

The man, looking down at the photos, paused slightly, and after a while, said, ”Little student, what do you think a photography exhibition is?”

Do you think you can just hold one whenever you want?

For Chuzheng, if you have the money, you can have one, so it really is about wanting it.

”Do you want to?”

Sang Yu put down the camera, gazed at the setting sun on the horizon: ”No photographer doesn’t want to hold their own photography exhibition, but very few actually reach that point.”

Most people are just regular folks who know how to handle a camera.

Sang Yu felt a sudden warmth on the back of his hand and looked down at the hand holding his, following the fair wrist upward.

Reflecting in her pupils, the girl slowly opened her mouth: ”As long as you want it, it will happen.”

As long as you want it...

Sang Yu felt a fiery heat on the back of his hand, that warmth running through his bloodstream, making his heart flutter uncontrollably.

In that instant, it was as if a certain door deep in his heart had been opened, something awakening inside.

Sang Yu froze for a few seconds, wanting to pull back his hand.

The hand holding him pressed lightly, not letting him withdraw.

Sang Yu didn’t dare meet her eyes again, looking towards the distant sunset, with vibrant colors reflected in his eyes.

-

Sang Yu remained stiff until night fell, palms slightly sweaty.

”Let’s go.” Sang Yu’s voice was slightly hoarse, eyes fixed on the vegetation on the ground, not daring to look at Chuzheng: ”It’s almost time.”

Chuzheng stood up but didn’t let go, even clutching his palm more brazenly.

”Chuzheng...”

Sang Yu called her softly.

”Hmm?” Chuzheng tilted her head to look at him: ”Aren’t we going?”

Sang Yu looked at her holding his hand: ”Can you let go of me?”

”You didn’t struggle earlier, been holding hands this long, does it matter letting go now?” Chuzheng reasoned confidently: ”Let’s go.”

Sang Yu: ”...”

Though it seemed unreasonable, there was no retort.

By then, there was no one around, just the wind’s sound, and no lights, yet the sky above was exceptionally beautiful.

This was a night scene unseen in the city.

A dark blue sky adorned with scattered, radiant stars.

As Sang Yu started working, Chuzheng finally let go.

Sang Yu tested a few shots, and once satisfied, told Chuzheng to prepare.

”Walk over from there, don’t look at the camera.” Sang Yu pointed into the distance, directing Chuzheng.

Chuzheng stood where Sang Yu designated and walked as he instructed.

Through the lens, Sang Yu saw Chuzheng adorned in starlight, making his heart race.

He exhaled gently, refocusing.

As he was momentarily distracted, she somehow looked his way, meeting his eyes through the lens.

Her gaze seemed to pierce the camera, seeing into his eyes and soul...

Sang Yu forgot to react until she walked towards him in the frame.

”Don’t...”

Sang Yu pulled away from the camera, wanting to stop her, but she was already before him, his voice stuck in his throat.

Her face enlarged in his view, and Sang Yu felt a warmth on his lips.

Sang Yu’s mind exploded, a brilliant signal breaking through the haze.

-

Sang Yu returned to his studio, sitting in a daze, head filled with images from before.

Irritated, he got up, went to the restroom to shower and change, then sat before his computer.

The camera photos were all uploaded, and Sang Yu clicked on one.

In the photo, the girl in a long red dress stood with the wind lifting her skirt’s corner, her profile perfect, chin raised slightly, exuding arrogance and self-confidence like a queen overlooking the world.

Five minutes later, Sang Yu left the computer, heading to the bathroom, the water running immediately after.

After emerging, he closed his laptop, sat by the bay window on the second floor, gazing at the street outside lost in thought.

Bzzzz—

[Transfer] Please confirm receipt of payment

Sang Yu looked at the name for a long while, fingers hovering, before finally touching the screen after a minute.

[Sang Yu: ?]

[More Cuteness: Payment.]

[Sang Yu: Not necessary.]

Sang Yu didn’t take Chuzheng’s money. Looking at the input field, he opened the keyboard, wanting to send something yet unsure what.

After a while, he simply exited to the homepage, tossing the phone onto the bed.

Sang Yu irritably picked up a cigarette from beside him, ready to light it, but contemplating something, ended up just holding it.

Sang Yu didn’t accept the money, but the next day, upon opening his door, he found a box.

Inside was a stack of cash, along with a note and breakfast.

Sang Yu: ”...”

Her heart is really that big? Throwing so much money at his door?

Sang Yu counted the money; it was double what she’d offered yesterday.

If he didn’t take it, she’d double it?
