Chapter 1698: Chapter 1698: Born in Solitude (12)

Chuzheng sat down, and Sang Yu didn’t speak either, keeping his head lowered as he looked at the things he shot this morning.

Chuzheng looked over at the sports field, probably because she was sitting here, some students glanced over in this direction.

Sang Yu turned off the equipment, glanced at her: ”Do you know me?”

”No, I don’t.” Chuzheng paused, then earnestly said: ”But we can get to know each other, I’m Chuzheng.”

Sang Yu was slightly taken aback, his gaze circling her face, replying slowly: ”You know my name.”

Chuzheng: ”Hmm.”

Sang Yu wasn’t surprised that Chuzheng knew his name.

All the teachers knew his name, and they could find out just by asking.

Those students who came over earlier also knew his name.

What puzzled him was that every time he saw her... he always felt something strange.

Sang Yu couldn’t describe that feeling.

Sang Yu thought for a moment: ”Are you also in the second year?”

”No, I’m in the third year.”

Third year...

”You...”

”Chuzheng.” Bai Dongai came running over, his jacket taken off and tied around his waist, the boy exuded vigor and vitality: ”Been looking all over for you, why did you run off so fast.”

He had just turned away for a moment, and his deskmate, who had been talking to him earlier, was gone.

Isn’t that frustrating?

Seeing Bai Dongai coming over, Sang Yu had already lowered his head.

”Anything up?” Couldn’t her deskmate give her a bit of private space?

”Can’t I look for you even if there’s nothing?” Bai Dongai’s eyes fell on Sang Yu with a hint of wariness: ”What if you get tricked by someone?”

Chuzheng was perplexed: ”Who dares to trick me?”

Bai Dongai didn’t notice Chuzheng’s wording: ”Who knows, you’re so easy to trick, one trick and you’re caught.”

Chuzheng: ”...”

How could she be easy to trick?

Bai Dongai found a place to sit, curiously speaking to Sang Yu: ”Photographer brother, how much can you earn a month doing this job?”

Sang Yu felt that the boy in front of him harbored animosity toward him.

That animosity wasn’t obvious, but he could feel it.

Sang Yu caught a glimpse of Chuzheng, calmly answering: ”No earnings.”

Bai Dongai pressed: ”Why do it if it doesn’t earn you anything?”

Sang Yu: ”It’s a hobby.”

Bai Dongai raised an eyebrow: ”Oh, that’s your side job then? What’s your primary occupation?”

Sang Yu chose not to answer, as it was his private matter, and there was no need to share it with a kid.

Besides, the kid wasn’t very friendly toward him.

Chuzheng was the first to get up and leave, Bai Dongai waved at Sang Yu before following Chuzheng away.

It was only after the two walked a distance away that Sang Yu lifted his head to look in that direction.

The young boy and girl walked one behind the other on the sports field, golden sunlight cast upon them, forming a light glow of halo; his professional instinct told him this was an excellent picture, yet he had no desire to capture it.

”Brother, can I rest here for a bit?”

Sang Yu’s thoughts were interrupted by someone.

A girl stood before him, face slightly flushed, looking at him nervously and apprehensively.

Sang Yu placed the things on the ground back to the side, refusing the girl with his actions.

-

Chuzheng walked out of the sports field; when there were fewer people around, she turned: ”What were you doing just now?”

”Nothing really.” Bai Dongai shrugged: ”I just asked a few questions, what’s making you so anxious?”

Bai Dongai squinted: ”Could it be that you really like him?”

Ever since coming back from winter vacation, Bai Dongai hadn’t seen her be so attentive to anyone, even taking the initiative to talk.

This photographer was the first...

”It’s my business.” Doesn’t like the Good Person Card, who else would she like?

”...”

Bai Dongai’s expression was odd, and after a while, he stiffly said: ”I fear you might get tricked, that guy is just pretty, what else does he have?”

”He’s the one I’ve been looking for.”

”?”

Who are you looking for?

Didn’t you say you didn’t know him before?

Bai Dongai was completely puzzled, and Chuzheng didn’t plan to explain; after talking with Bai Dongai, she directly returned to the sports field.

Just in time for the break to end, the teacher had everyone gather to continue shooting.

The afternoon shoot went better than the morning, ending ahead of schedule.

But Chuzheng and Bai Dongai still needed to take solo shots, so had to remain; other students could leave early, or stay to watch, but couldn’t disrupt the shoot.

Sang Yu was looking at the sky.

There was still an hour till evening, Sang Yu wasn’t in a hurry to shoot, and he headed to the side with his camera.

Bai Dongai was deep in thought, standing there without much movement.

Chuzheng leaned against the side of the sports field, gazing indifferently into the distance.

Sang Yu’s lens captured the girl, suddenly unable to look away.

”What’s happening over there! No fighting allowed!” The teacher’s scolding snapped Sang Yu out of it, and he abruptly moved the lens away.

Amidst the rising hubbub of teachers and students arguing, Sang Yu stood there, the surroundings blurring and revolving, his mind focused on that moment when he moved the lens away, and the girl’s eyes looked back.

Clear and bright, calm like a mirror.

Sang Yu exhaled heavily, without looking toward Chuzheng again, he directly walked to the other side.

-

Chuzheng and Bai Dongai only needed a few promotional photos, with no special demands, wait till the light was right, Sang Yu quickly finished shooting.

Sang Yu packed up and left, while the teacher caught students for a talk.

By the time the shoot ended, Chuzheng could no longer see Sang Yu.

On the way back, Bai Dongai seemed to have something to say but hesitated, his gaze at Chuzheng resembling the sense of duty towards a clueless deskmate.

Chuzheng: ”...”

”If you have something to say, just say it.” Chuzheng couldn’t take Bai Dongai’s gaze, making her feel uneasy.

Like making a decisive resolution, Bai Dongai, earnestly and with serious intent said: ”Bro, you’re not young anymore, having someone you like is normal, but I hope you can keep your eyes open.”

Chuzheng: ”...” What nonsense is he spouting.

Bai Dongai seemingly feared Chuzheng being deceived, acting like an old father now, only lacking a head shake.

-

On the other side, Sang Yu returned to his place, poured a glass of water and drank, then opened the computer, importing everything shot today onto it.

He clicked open the photos, directly skipping other people, flipping to Chuzheng’s picture.

Wearing school uniform, standing in a corner of the sports field, with brilliant evening clouds behind her, her head turned to face the lens, her gaze seeming to see through the screen, noticing the person seated at the computer behind it.

This photo was taken by Sang Yu unexpectedly.

When she looked over, his hand slightly trembled, causing a bit of an issue with the picture.

This photo didn’t meet the school’s requirements, yet Sang Yu opened the editing software, starting with this one.

After editing, the girl in the photo seemed even more beautiful.

He leaned back slightly, supporting his chin with one hand, staring at the girl on the screen.

He had shot many beautiful portraits, but this was the first, causing a heart-thudding sensation upon seeing her.

After a while, Sang Yu pressed the mouse, saved the picture, and began editing other photos.
