Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 1305: Chapter 1305: Real and Fake Daughters (Part 11)

Teacher Guo, as the class teacher, had often tried to educate her, but it had little effect.

And recently, regarding the matter with Du Xia, Teacher Guo, as the class teacher, was also keenly aware. Mr. and Mrs. Du specifically sought him out for a long chat, asking him to pay more attention.

Now this matter...

Teacher Guo: ”Du Xia, explain properly, what’s going on.”

Du Xia: ”I don’t know, I didn’t post this, how am I supposed to know what’s going on.”

Facing the stares of so many people, Du Xia’s panic grew like wild grass, she could only raise her voice to cover it up.

The discipline director spoke earnestly to Du Xia: ”Student Du Xia, defaming others is illegal, do you know that?”

Du Xia felt a jolt in her heart, but still braced herself to say: ”I... I really don’t know who posted it.”

Du Xia wouldn’t admit it until facing the consequence, she insisted it wasn’t her who posted it.

If Chuzheng really had stolen twenty thousand, Du Xia might have admitted it confidently.

The key point is that Chuzheng didn’t take that twenty thousand.

It was her own fabrication.

”Student Du Xia, could you please show us your phone?”

In front of the uniformed people from the relevant departments, Du Xia’s demeanor was weak, she told a transparent lie: ”I didn’t bring it...”

Soon after saying this, the familiar ringtone erupted by her ear, sending a chill down Du Xia’s spine as she hastily went to cover it.

Chuzheng helpfully shook her phone: ”You’re welcome.”

Du Xia: ”...”

Du Xia glared hatefully at Chuzheng and reluctantly took out her phone, handing it over with reluctance.

The forum login was under Du Xia’s main account, but there were also login records for a secondary account.

”Student Du Xia, is this account yours?”

Du Xia glanced at the phone with a bit of a bewildered expression.

She remembered...

She had clearly deleted the record of the secondary account.

Why was it still on the phone?

Was she mistaken?

Could it be that she hadn’t deleted it?

In the past, there had been cases where deleted accounts suddenly reappeared inexplicably.

Du Xia felt panicked internally, her mind racing.

In a flash of inspiration, her eyes lit up, she had a plan.

”No, it’s not mine, it’s Qi Mei’s. She borrowed my phone to log in before.”

Qi Mei was Du Xia’s little follower, and she placed the blame on her.

Then she could claim Qi Mei had misheard, or was just standing up for her...

Du Xia had already thought of how to cover this up.

Besides, she wasn’t afraid of them asking Qi Mei, as she could give a hint to Qi Mei when she came.

However, what Du Xia hadn’t anticipated was that Qi Mei didn’t come to school today and could only be reached by phone.

”...”

Without being face to face, and not being able to use her phone, how could she signal to Qi Mei, her lie would be exposed as soon as they asked.

The discipline director’s tone was stern: ”Student Du Xia, please tell the truth.”

Teacher Guo: ”Wait a minute, this post mentions... twenty thousand, shouldn’t we clarify this matter first?”

”This matter can be quickly confirmed with Mr. Du and Mrs. Du.”

It was Chuzheng who spoke.

Teacher Guo looked toward Chuzheng, this girl had been calm from the start, and even now when mentioning the parents who had raised her for over a decade, she distantly referred to them as Mr. Du and Mrs. Du...

-

The relevant departments quickly confirmed with Mr. and Mrs. Du that there was no such thing.

However, they sensed that something had happened with their newly-found daughter and hurriedly rushed to the school.

There was nowhere for Du Xia to run, the evidence on the phone still remained.

Mr. and Mrs. Du denied the matter of the twenty thousand, which verified that Du Xia was fabricating stories.

She was the one who posted the message, defaming Chuzheng.

Du Xia clenched her fist, her nails digging into her palm, but she couldn’t feel the pain.

All she felt inside was a burning anger.

She was the one who took away her things first.

After all these years, what kind of life had she lived? What kind of life was she living now?

With the situation clear, the discipline director asked the person involved: ”Student Yan Chuzheng, how do you want to resolve this issue?”

Looking at it broadly, this was quite serious.

But to make a big deal small or make a small deal of it wasn’t as severe.

It largely depended on how Chuzheng wanted to resolve it.

Chuzheng calmly stated the outcome she wanted: ”Delete the post, publish a clarification post, and, in front of the entire school, clarify and apologize to me.”

Du Xia’s pupils constricted slightly as she blurted out: ”You want me to apologize to you?”

Chuzheng blinked: ”Or do you want to settle it legally? Don’t worry, I can afford a lawyer.”

Du Xia: ”...”

”An apology to the whole school isn’t necessary, is it?” Teacher Guo thought of Mr. and Mrs. Du, and spoke up for Du Xia: ”Settling it privately is enough, there’s no need to make it such a big deal.”

Chuzheng gave Teacher Guo a cold look: ”Teacher Guo, this post can be seen by the whole school. Director, is my request too much?”

Since the whole school saw it, what’s wrong with clarifying and apologizing in front of the whole school?

There’s no problem at all!

Otherwise, what if someone else said I stole twenty thousand?!

”... It’s not excessive.” The discipline director said with a stern face: ”Defaming a classmate with such atrocious behavior, this time, Du Xia will be given a disciplinary warning!”

Teacher Guo: ”...”

Du Xia: ”...”

”Delete the post! At the meeting next Monday, Du Xia will apologize to Yan Chuzheng.” The discipline director finally decided.

”Since you’ve reached an agreement, we’ll take our leave now.”

The discipline director quickly stood up and escorted the two officers out. After they left, the discipline director turned around and walked back, hands clasped behind him.

Teacher Guo attempted to negotiate further: ”Director, about this matter...”

”Alright, this is settled as it is.” The discipline director impatiently waved his hand, indicating they could leave.

Students these days are getting harder to manage.

With things like this happening, if they don’t receive a proper lesson, who knows if they’ll slander others for murder and arson in the future?!

Chuzheng quickly slipped away.

”Yan Chuzheng, you stand right there.”

”...”

-

Chuzheng returned to the classroom in a somewhat unpleasant mood, and He Shan immediately rushed over: ”Xiao Chu, are you okay?”

The news that people from the relevant departments came to the school had spread everywhere.

Everyone said it was about the forum post, and that Chuzheng was going to be taken away and so on.

He Shan had been worried, but seeing Chuzheng come back unscathed, she felt a wave of relief.

Chuzheng sat back in her seat, and the surrounding curious gazes fell on her, ears perked up to catch the first-hand gossip.

The protagonist of the gossip looked indifferent: ”It’s nothing.”

”Are you really okay?”

”Do I look like something’s wrong?”

He Shan: ”...”

He Shan scratched her ears and cheeks, wanting to know what had really happened.

But Chuzheng put up a cold front that no one should bother her with, and He Shan couldn’t bring herself to ask, feeling that her desk-mate seemed a bit scary.

It must be because of the change in identity...

He Shan thought of this, and couldn’t help but show a bit of sympathy in her eyes.

If one day she were suddenly told that she wasn’t her parents’ biological child, she definitely wouldn’t be able to accept it.

She needed to care more about Xiao Chu in the future!

As Chuzheng neatly wrote the words ’self-reflection’ on a paper, she noticed He Shan’s strange gaze and turned slightly to the side: ”Why are you looking at me like that?”
