Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 1145: Chapter 1145: Love at First Sight (Part 2)

Chuzheng’s ’unreasonable and inappropriate’ request was ruthlessly rejected by the nurse.

Although patients have the right to choose their medical treatment, it must be for justified reasons. If anyone could change at will, how could the hospital continue to operate?

Chuzheng returned to the ward, fuming, and found the original owner’s phone, ready to order a five-star meal delivery.

-

As Chuzheng was waiting for lunch, the door of the ward was pushed open, with Mu Keke and Han Jing entering one after the other.

”Xiao Chu, why did you change wards?” Han Jing rushed over to the ward, his face filled with tension and worry, embodying the perfect boyfriend to the extreme, ”If I hadn’t asked the nurse, I wouldn’t have known you were here—it scared me.”

Mu Keke followed behind, her expression stiffened at seeing Han Jing that way, then she smiled and approached, speaking softly, ”Yeah, Xiao Chu, why did you suddenly change wards? This ward must cost a lot of money, right? Aunt and Uncle work so hard outside. Wasn’t the previous ward good enough?”

Mu Keke’s words insinuated that Chuzheng was being unreasonable and wasting money.

The original owner’s parents were quite wealthy. Considering their financial situation, if she really wanted to stay in a VIP ward, the original owner’s parents would agree.

But to earn money, they practically couldn’t stay by the original owner’s side, which is probably the trade-off of gains and losses...

Chuzheng subtly scrutinized Mu Keke for a few moments.

Though they were distant relatives, who knows how distant they actually were.

Mu Keke stopped studying after middle school and worked outside. Somehow, she got in touch with the original owner’s parents, who happened to be looking for someone to care for the original owner, and thus Mu Keke was appointed.

In terms of looks, Mu Keke was sweet and had a gentle appearance, and she looked quite nice when smiling.

Her clothes were all the original owner’s. Due to their different heights, the clothes probably didn’t fit her well, so they looked a bit odd.

The original owner’s clothes were bought by her parents, not exactly big brands, but were still light luxury items from niche brands.

Mu Keke wanted to wear them, and since the original owner didn’t go out much, she wouldn’t wear that many either, so she let Mu Keke take them.

As a result, there were fewer and fewer clothes in her wardrobe.

Hearing Mu Keke’s words, Han Jing frowned slightly, a hint of dissatisfaction in his tone, ”Xiao Chu, your illness already costs a lot of money. Let’s not be willful and change back to the previous ward, okay?”

Chuzheng felt bewildered. She was spending her own money, yet why was he dissatisfied?

So she retorted coldly, ”Did I spend your family’s money?”

”Xiao Chu?”

Han Jing was somewhat dumbfounded by Chuzheng’s attitude.

She was fine before. How did she suddenly become like this?!

”Xiao Chu, are you unhappy?” Han Jing didn’t get angry. Instead, he gently asked, ”Who upset you?”

Mu Keke seized the moment to shoulder the blame, ”Xiao Chu, I didn’t mean anything, just feeling sorry for Uncle and Aunt. Don’t be mad, if you want to stay here, just stay. Your happiness is what matters most; don’t get upset, it’s not good for your health.”

Chuzheng pondered whether she should learn some moves from a malicious supporting female role now.

Before she could speak, Han Jing spoke first to console Chuzheng, ”Alright, alright, don’t be angry anymore. I misspoke earlier. Your health is what matters most, it’s quiet here, staying here is good.”

Chuzheng looked at him without saying a word.

Her icy-cold eyes were completely different from Han Jing’s impression, making him a bit uneasy.

”Xiao Chu, what’s wrong?” Han Jing suppressed that strange feeling, looking at her worriedly, ”Are you feeling unwell somewhere? I’ll call a doctor to check on you.”

Chuzheng’s cherry-colored lips slightly parted, ”Seeing you makes me unwell.”

Han Jing: ”...”

Han Jing took a deep breath, ”Me? Did I do something wrong?”

”You don’t know?”

”Know what?” Han Jing was completely confused, then turned sincere, ”Xiao Chu, if I did something wrong, tell me, I’ll change, okay?”

Han Jing was cautiously coaxing Chuzheng.

Chuzheng kept a stern face, ignoring him.

A trace of jealousy flickered in Mu Keke’s lowered eyes, and she pinched her palm hard, interrupting the two, ”Xiao Chu, don’t be mad, I made some soup for you to try.”

”I’ll do it.” Han Jing went over to help.

Chuzheng’s unabashed gaze fell on them, Han Jing didn’t dare to get too close to Mu Keke and quickly brought the soup over.

Knock knock—

The door of the ward was knocked, Han Jing glanced, and Mu Keke immediately went to open it.

Standing outside was an employee from a certain five-star hotel, ”Excuse me, is Miss Mi here?”

”Uh... yes, is there something you need?” Mu Keke, looking at the employee’s attire, was full of confusion.

”We’re here to deliver Miss Mi’s meal.” The other person smiled and gestured to the exquisite box in hand.

It resembled the kind of food box carried in palaces, square and beautifully crafted.

Mu Keke looked back puzzled, ”Xiao Chu, did you order takeout?” After asking, she was suspicious. This delivery didn’t seem right. Who uses such exquisite boxes for takeout?

Chuzheng ignored her, addressing the person outside, ”Come in.”

The employee entered from the outside and placed the box on the nursing table, opening each layer and taking out the contents.

The box had several layers, each with exquisite and beautiful food, with an enticing aroma.

After arranging them, the employee slightly bowed, ”Enjoy your meal.”

Once the employee left, Mu Keke and Han Jing looked at each other silently.

Mu Keke tentatively asked, ”Xiao Chu, do you not like what I made?”

Chuzheng, already picking up her chopsticks to eat, said, ”If you’ve got nothing else, please leave.”

”Xiao Chu?”

Chuzheng raised her eyes, and Mu Keke suddenly felt a chill down her spine, feeling as if her limbs were frozen in place.

”Leave.”

Mu Keke: ”...”

Mu Keke’s eyes slightly reddened, as if she had suffered a great grievance.

”Xiao Chu, what are you doing? Keke makes delicious dishes for you every day, and yet you’re being harsh...”

Chuzheng interrupted Han Jing, ”Including you, leave.”

Mu Keke turned and ran out first, with Han Jing looking at the door. After a moment, he too seemed angry and followed her out.

Chuzheng exhaled deeply, slowly finishing her lunch.

-

Mu Keke stood in a deserted corner of the hospital, checking something on her phone, while Han Jing looked around before walking over to her.

Mu Keke saw him approaching, her eyes reddening further, and she sniffed.

Han Jing patted her head, ”There, there, she’s just in a bad mood, don’t take it personally.”

Mu Keke was very unhappy, ”I serve her diligently every day, and now she’s giving me attitude.”

”She’s a patient,” Han Jing comforted Mu Keke, ”don’t be upset, look, our Keke has turned ugly with this little face.”

”You...” Mu Keke glared angrily at Han Jing, ”When are you planning to break up with her?”

Han Jing frowned, took Mu Keke’s hand, and softly consoled, ”With her like this now, how dare I bring it up? What if something happens? How could I live with myself?”

”But...”
