Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 893: Chapter 893: Phoenix Dominates the Rivers and Mountains (35)

Most of the people in the court knelt down.

This left the remaining people passive and awkward.

Prime Minister Lin looked at Ning Yao, wanting to ask what to do next.

However, Ning Yao’s mind was also in chaos, unsure of any solutions at the moment.

The second batch to compromise belonged to the Empress’s faction, probably intending to compromise first and plan later.

In the grand hall, only Prime Minister Lin and Ning Yao stood.

In the end, pressured, this group unwillingly acknowledged Chuzheng as the Empress.

Upon leaving the Golden Luan Hall, Ning Yao’s face could no longer remain composed, appearing rather gloomy.

”Your Highness.” Prime Minister Lin caught up with her, lowering his voice, ”Today’s events are strange.”

Ning Yao, of course, was aware.

”Prime Minister Lin, do you think Ning Chuzheng is staging a coup?”

”It’s hard to say. Her Majesty did seem unwell today, but she didn’t say much...”

Prime Minister Lin was unsure.

Ning Yao: ”Did you see those Imperial Guard Army troops?”

Prime Minister Lin nodded: ”It seems they obey the Grand Imperial Princess.”

The Imperial Guard Army should obey Her Majesty...

Could it really be Her Majesty’s will?

After all, Her Majesty indeed doted on this Grand Imperial Princess a lot.

”It’s not just the Imperial Guard Army, there are also a large number of ministers.” Ning Yao gritted her teeth, ”When I invited them before, they were so reluctant. It turns out they were originally Ning Chuzheng’s people.”

”Could it be that the Grand Imperial Princess was biding her time?”

Biding her time?

No!

Ning Yao felt that she had changed into someone else.

Ning Yao contemplated for a moment, ”I’m going to see my mother, the Empress.”

-

Ning Yao wanted to see the Empress, but the Empress didn’t want to see anyone.

The Empress’s chamber wasn’t guarded, making it unclear to Ning Yao whether the Empress was acting under duress or voluntarily.

Ning Yao refused to leave, and the Empress spoke to her through the door.

”Mother, why did you suddenly abdicate?”

”Didn’t I say, I’m tired and want to rest? Your Imperial Sister has grown up, and I am at ease handing it over to her.” The Empress’s tone was full of impatience.

”Mother, my Imperial Sister she...”

”Enough from you, support your Imperial Sister well in the future, now leave.”

The Empress stopped listening to Ning Yao and even sent her lady-in-waiting to escort her out.

Ning Yao anxiously returned to her palace.

Just as she entered, the Imperial Guard Army surrounded the palace.

Feeling displeased, Ning Yao stormed out: ”What are you doing?”

”By order of the New Emperor, we request Your Highness the Third Princess to come with us.” The Imperial Guard Army remained respectful.

”Invite me? Why surround this place?”

”This is the order of the New Emperor.” The Imperial Guard Army replied formally.

Arrogance just after ascending the throne!

Ning Yao: ”What if I refuse to go today?”

Imperial Guard Army: ”It’s considered defying an imperial order, and you will be killed without mercy.”

Ning Yao: ”!!”

She is a princess!

How could they just say kill and kill!

-

Ning Yao followed the Imperial Guard Army but realized the route was not right.

”Where are we going?”

Imperial Guard Army: ”You will know when you arrive, Your Highness.”

Ning Yao felt a surge of panic in her heart: ”Where are you taking me?”

Ning Yao attempted to escape but was blocked by the Imperial Guard Army.

How could she, alone, overpower so many guards? The sheer number would exhaust her.

The Imperial Guard Army pressed Ning Yao forward.

Until Ning Yao saw the gates of the Heavenly Prison.

”...”

Ning Yao never imagined that Chuzheng could do such a thing.

She is a princess, even if Chuzheng wanted to deal with her, she wouldn’t do it in such an overt manner.

Therefore, she wasn’t afraid before.

But...

She was actually locked up in the Heavenly Prison!!

Is she not afraid of being impeached?

Is she not afraid that future generations will say she murdered her siblings?

Ning Yao was pushed into a cell.

The cell door made of stone was closed from the outside.

Ning Yao rushed over, but could only look out from the rectangular hole carved in the stone door.

”I want to see Ning Chuzheng.”

”I am a princess, she can’t do this!!”

”Come back!!”

-

The news of Chuzheng imprisoning Ning Yao spread rapidly without concealment.

Prime Minister Lin immediately led ministers to see Chuzheng.

Chuzheng had them stopped outside the hall.

Commander Qu also jumped anxiously at this moment: ”Your Highness, the Third Princess hasn’t committed any crime, arbitrarily imprisoning her is ill-considered, isn’t it?”

”In what way is it ill-considered?”

She became the Empress precisely to deal with Ning Yao.

If she didn’t seize the opportunity now...

Should she wait for Ning Yao to regroup and cause trouble again?

Am I foolish!

Commander Qu: ”Even if you want to weaken her power, Your Highness, there are better ways!”

This is just too damn crude!

”Then what should I do?”

Should I dig a pit for you, you dig another for me, and this power struggle ends up a thirty-episode drama?

I don’t have the time for that.

Quick and decisive is better.

If I could take charge directly, what do I need you all for?

It’s all that Bastard’s fault!

Commander Qu, being a military general leading the Imperial Guard Army, couldn’t understand why he had to play the role of a strategist as well!!

Taking several deep breaths: ”You haven’t even officially ascended the throne and are already causing such an incident. Look at those ministers outside...”

Chuzheng glanced at the hall doors — couldn’t see anything.

Sighing, she propped her chin in thought for a while: ”I think...”

Commander Qu felt that Chuzheng would come up with a crooked idea.

Indeed, the next second, he heard Chuzheng speak slowly and steadily: ”It’s better to lock them all up.”

”...” What the heck!! ”Your Highness, if you imprison them all, how will the court function afterward?” Reduced to a sole Empress?

”Some people want to become officials.” Chuzheng wore a serious expression, ”New Empress, new atmosphere. Go and capture them.”

”I...”

Where the heck am I going!!

You’re simply messing around!!

Commander Qu was almost exploding with anger.

Commander Qu began shouting uncontrollably: ”What exactly do you intend to do!”

Chuzheng replied seriously: ”I want to get rid of her.”

”Who?”

”Ning Yao.”

”...”

Commander Qu decided to die.

-

Chuzheng imprisoned Ning Yao, and a group of ministers surrounded the Golden Luan Hall, suing for Ning Yao’s release.

Not only Prime Minister Lin and others were there, but also people from Chuzheng’s side.

Imprisoning Ning Yao at this time was surely creating trouble for herself?

The dragon throne hadn’t even warmed for long!!

But Chuzheng completely ignored this.

Wen Wu, having just learned his daughter had inherited the throne and not yet digested this news, rushed over after hearing about Chuzheng imprisoning Ning Yao to persuade her.

Ning Yao is her sister. No matter what, she cannot be imprisoned so indiscriminately.

If she acts like this, how would ministers and commoners perceive her in the future, and how would history record her?

Chuzheng: ”...”

I really hadn’t thought that far.

Once I get rid of Ning Yao, I’ll leave.

Who wants to be the Empress!

With Ning Yao’s faction unable to sit still, starting to plan a rescue, Minister Yang brought people from the Dali Temple to accuse Ning Yao.

”Look, now I have a reason to keep her detained.”

Chuzheng justified confidently with Commander Qu.

Commander Qu scoffed.

This Minister Yang and the Dali Temple people, weren’t they arranged by you?
