Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 749: Chapter 749: The Wicked Woman Farms (5)

Such a commotion was caused.

The highest-ranking elder of the Jiang Family Village, Third Grandfather, was startled.

Jiang Liangye was carried into the house, and Third Grandfather had everyone else wait outside, only allowing Chuzheng and Jiang Dasheng’s family to enter, along with a few of the Jiang Family Village’s more reputable elders.

”In the dead of night, what is all this fuss about?” Third Grandfather stood there with his cane, sitting on a plain chair, his face stern, appearing quite displeased.

Jiang Dasheng was just about to speak when Yang Cuicui began crying and talking.

”Jiang Chuzheng slandered my son and mercilessly crippled Liangye. With such a young age, she’s so venomous and shameless. Third Grandfather, you must stand up for us.”

Chuzheng stood in the room with dignity and composure.

”Chuzheng girl, is what your aunt said true?”

Chuzheng stated calmly and evenly, ”Jiang Liangye had ill intentions, broke into my room in the middle of the night with indecent motives, what is wrong with defending myself?”

Yang Cuicui cried even louder.

”Third Grandfather, don’t listen to her nonsense. My son might be a young man, but he knows propriety, integrity, and honor. How could he break into her room? She’s slandering my son!!”

Third Grandfather raised his hand to silence Yang Cuicui.

Third Grandfather holds great prestige in the village, having been to war in his younger days. Yang Cuicui felt somewhat intimidated before him.

Third Grandfather asked Chuzheng, ”You say Liangye broke into your room, do you have any proof?”

”My room was locked from the outside; it can only be opened with a key, which should still be on Jiang Liangye.” The key was hanging on the door, but Chuzheng had hidden it back on Jiang Liangye.

Yang Cuicui had arranged a match between Chuzheng and someone, which many people in the village knew about.

They also knew Chuzheng was unwilling and had been locked up by Yang Cuicui.

However, such matters were common in the countryside, so nobody thought it strange.

Since Chuzheng was confined, the room must have been locked.

Yang Cuicui, previously furious, felt a sudden pang of alarm at Chuzheng’s words.

An elder standing nearby immediately searched Jiang Liangye and indeed found a key.

The key fit exactly to Chuzheng’s room.

Jiang Liangye was her brother!

But generally, Jiang Liangye was no good either.

Many had witnessed Jiang Liangye, accompanied by a few young ruffians from the village, bullying Chuzheng...

Yang Cuicui cried even harder, ”Liangye is your brother, how could he possibly do this to you? I think you’re just dissatisfied with our family and taking revenge! Our Dasheng’s lineage will be left with no descendants, how can we go on living! Third Grandfather, you must seek justice for Liangye, he is still so young, not even married yet, and she ruined his life!!”

Yang Cuicui kept repeating the phrase about being left with no descendants.

Jiang Dasheng’s expression grew darker and darker.

Clearly, he was incited.

The other elders also looked unhappy.

Among unfilial acts, having no descendants is the worst.

”This is a question for your son, whether he’s worse than an animal, not even sparing his own sister.” Chuzheng continued from where Yang Cuicui left off, and took the opportunity to scold Jiang Liangye as well.

Yang Cuicui: ”...”

Third Grandfather was aged, his eyesight not so good anymore, seeing people only as blurs, but his mind was not blurry.

He turned to the village doctor who had come with them, ”When will Liangye wake up?”

”Third Grandfather, it’s hard to say.” The village doctor dared not make a guarantee.

No sooner had the village doctor finished speaking than there was noise from the bed area.

Jiang Liangye woke up.

The pain in his lower body made Jiang Liangye cry out loud.

It took the village doctor and two other people quite an effort to hold him down.

”My son.” Yang Cuicui rushed over.

”Mother...mother...” Jiang Liangye was terrified: ”Am I crippled? Will I never be able to...”

Yang Cuicui dared not tell him the truth, afraid of distressing him.

”Don’t be afraid, Liangye, it will get better.”

”No... it won’t...” Jiang Liangye shook his head, his memory clear, ”No! Let go of me!!”

”Calm down, Liangye!”

Several people teamed up to restrain Jiang Liangye.

Fortunately, Jiang Liangye’s strength wasn’t substantial at the time, so Yang Cuicui was distressed beyond measure.

When Jiang Liangye calmed down, Grandfather San supported himself with a cane and approached, ”Liangye, what happened tonight?”

Jiang Liangye’s face held a vacant expression. Upon hearing Grandfather San’s question, clarity struck his mind. Just as he was about to complain, he caught Chuzheng’s icy gaze.

It was as if he had been transported back to that moment.

He had heard Jiang Yuyu say she was locked up and was to marry Zhang Yuanwai from the neighboring village.

He had drunk a little that night and, the more he thought about it as he lay in bed, the more restless he became, so he took the key and went to her room.

In his heart, he thought that since the old lecher was willing but impotent, it would be better for him to have a taste before letting outsiders benefit.

Whenever he bullied her, she never dared to complain.

Jiang Liangye felt that as long as he threatened her properly, she would certainly not dare to speak out.

As for the fact that she was his sister, Jiang Liangye couldn’t have cared less.

It wasn’t like she was his biological sister.

But what he hadn’t expected was that, upon entering, she had already been waiting for him.

As if she knew he would come.

And...

Remembering that scene, Jiang Liangye felt chills run down his spine, as if his manhood was being severed again.

The figure standing before him was not the orphan girl with deceased parents, but a tyrant.

”Liangye, tell us what happened. Your Grandfather San is here; you can speak freely. Was it her who played tricks?”

”It’s, it’s... it was me...” Jiang Liangye, being stared down by Chuzheng, did not dare to speak recklessly.

”What are you saying, Liangye!” Yang Cuicui raised her voice.

”I was bewitched...” Jiang Liangye felt like he could still hear her final threat ringing in his ears.

He didn’t want to die.

She would truly kill him.

”Was it you who sneaked into Chuzheng’s room with improper intentions?” Grandfather San asked sternly.

Jiang Liangye’s face turned ashen as he admitted to it without speaking.

Since the person involved admitted it was he who burst into Chuzheng’s room,

everyone sighed in their hearts.

Being consumed by lust for a woman was one thing, but laying hands on one’s own sister!

Despite the condemnation, Jiang Liangye had already been taught a lesson, so no one pursued further punishment.

Yang Cuicui wanted to argue, but she was overcome by Jiang Liangye’s own admission.

”Liangye has been dealt with, and Chuzheng girl, you have expressed your anger; let’s put this matter to rest,” Grandfather San concluded.

Chuzheng swept a cold glance over everyone present.

Had she not had the foresight, Jiang Liangye probably would have gotten off scot-free today.

If not for that bastard intervening, had she taken out Jiang Liangye today, no one would know where he had gone.

What a pity.

”Chuzheng girl, you don’t have any objections, do you?”

”What good would my objections do?” Chuzheng replied curtly, for these people were not inclined to seek justice for her.

In this era, girls were sacrificial victims, undervalued.

Even in cases of rape, the survivor would often be destined to a fate of ’asking for it’.

If today’s events had gone in Jiang Liangye’s favor, who knows how many would have thought to drown her or blame her for seducing her own brother.

This Grandfather San claimed fairness, but did he punish Jiang Liangye?

No.

From the beginning, Chuzheng held no hope and thus, no disappointment.

She turned and left the room.

”Eh, this girl has no manners at all...”
