Her index finger made contact, poking the plump surface with moderate force.

Thdump

”Please stop,” the slime whined, jars of internal pressure shimmering slightly beneath its skin.

She paused, observing the reaction through unveiled fascination.

”You hate it?”

Her subtle grin suggested a completely different intention. Instead of withdrawing, her finger pressed deeper.

Thdump. Thdunp. Thdump

The slime struggled, its form writhing frantically before stabilizing again.

”I said STOP! Whatever that means.”

”Is… is that hate? Or… or is that fear?” it thought.

The slime’s perception scrambled, conflicting responses crushing against one another.

”I don’t… I don’t know… I can’t think when you’re looking at me like that…”

”Cute,” she silently marveled, removing the finger as quickly as she had placed it, leaving the slime deflated and bewildered.

”Anyway…” Lyssandra stood, back straight. She met the slime’s literal gaze with her beautiful eyes.

”Did the voice in your head go quiet?”

The question had materialized from thin air. The blue mass sat up sharply, jostling the air like a stone smashing into water.

”How… how do you know that?” it demanded.

“So my initial assumption is correct. Not only goblins but everywhere in the dungeon.”

The revelation settled quietly within her. First the goblins confessed their instincts, now their captured monster maintained the same.

She spoke aloud to confirm her theory.

”Just a guess.”

Without waiting for comment, she exited the small structure, re-emerging into the pounding rhythm of the tribe.

”Hey! Where are you going? Are you just going to leave me here?!”

The panicked blue form chased after her, splatting against the entrance flap like a living stain. A flurry of confused water ripples churned through its core as it awaited her judgment.

”Already miss me?” she teased softly, turning to observe the creature’s pathetic distress from the entrance of her own home.

Its not like that! The creature recoiled mentally, if it possessed cheeks, they would have certainly flushed a furious shade of crimson.

”I need a moment. You stay here,” she said firmly, already halfway to exiting the tent.

Alone.

The flap fell closed with a solid thump. The slime was trapped within its thoughts, its surroundings, and the reality of its own existence without the woman.

Returning to the tribe’s camp, Lyssandra observed her workers. She watched them hoist their tools, watched them till their land, watched them try and understand this new purpose she had assigned. Her thoughts wandered.

Monsters were born with killing instincts.

Were they all born like that? Just in dungeons? Or only in this dungeon specifically?

What happened when a monster lost that instinct? What will that slime become?

Too many questions, not nearly enough answers.

She closed her eyes, rubbing her temples to ward off the building migraine.

”Whatever the truth is,” she whispered, ”this [Goblin Chief] title can override those instincts, at least in goblins under my command. But that slime… How did it break its chains? If I hope to rule this dungeon, I must have answers.”

Lyssandra opened her eyes again, examining the view before her. A satisfied sigh escaped her lips as she witnessed the organized chaos she had crafted.

A commotion suddenly erupted below. She narrowed her gaze, searching for the source.

”…I told you, no!” The feminine voice rose, laced with frustration. ”What part of ’no’ is confusing you?!”

She stared down at the spot below her hut. A female goblin paced furiously while a male stood rooted to the spot, his eyes pleading.

“But why? Please, tell me the reason. I’m not that savage beast anymore!”

The male goblin shifted uncomfortably.

”It was just… you wouldn’t understand.” The female avoided his gaze completely.

”Interesting,” Lyssandra noted silently, curiosity piqued. She watched intently, ready for more answers to her earlier queries.

”Then tell me!” The desperation in the male goblin’s voice became tangible. His ears twitched and he fidgeted with the rough-spun cloth covering his loin.

”If it was about food? Great One has already taught us how to grow it! We will never go hungry again. Or… Or is it my status?”

His hands curled and uncurled in agitation. ”I know I’m just a grunt! Not like the sentries or the predecessor chief! But I’ll do anything!”

”NO!” The female finally stopped, hands balling into fists. Color rose to her cheeks rapidly. Her voice lowered, almost to an inaudible whisper.

”######” Her confession hung heavy in the air between them. The silence stretched uncomfortably long.

The male goblin stood frozen, his mind struggling to process the words.

”You heard that, right? She could fuck me better than you. Better than any goblin in this tribe.”

The female’s voice rose slightly, though still contained enough to avoid drawing attention from the others.

”What? How could she? Great One is a female. How could she possibly do that?”

The male’s confusion was palpable. He scratched his head, his ears flicking in confusion.

”######”

The female’s eyes gleamed with a fervent light, her cheeks flushed with excitement.

”######”

Her voice dropped to a low, intimate tone, filled with reverence.

”######”

She looked at the male goblin with a mixture of contempt.

”B-But… but… I…”

The male goblin stuttered, unable to form a coherent sentence. His mind was reeling from the revelation.

Suddenly, a voice cut through the air from above.

”You heard her.”

Lyssandra landed gracefully between them, her presence commanding immediate attention.

”Great One!”

Both goblins dropped to their knees instantly. The male’s submission was tinged with resentment, while the female’s was pure relief.

Lyssandra reached down, gently supporting the female goblin as she stood. Her arm draped possessively over the smaller creature’s shoulder, her hand casually groping one of the goblin’s breasts.

”You heard the lady say, no one can replace the hole I gave her. So you can scram.”

She smirked, her eyes gleaming with amusement.

The female goblin struggled to maintain her composure, her crotch already responding to the proximity of her superior.

”Yes, Great One.”

The male goblin slowly rose to his feet, his face a mask of shock and disbelief. He turned and walked away, his steps heavy with defeat.

As soon as he was out of earshot, the female goblin exhaled sharply.

”Thank you for helping me, Great One. I haven’t liked his ugly mug for a long time, but he kept pestering me.”

Lyssandra looked down at the female goblin, her expression unreadable.

”Hmm? Pestering you?”

”Yes, we used to be a couple. Well, not technically a couple if you know how goblins behave. He was just the one who fucked me the most.”

The female goblin suddenly shuddered, her body language shifting from gratitude to panic.

”No, no, no! That was in the past! I haven’t let anyone touch me since you called me! It was just…”

Her voice trailed off, becoming inaudible. She fidgeted nervously, her eyes darting around the camp.

“It’s quite the coincidence that you changed right after we slept together. Even stranger that the two of you had that kind of conversation near my hut. Stranger still… that I just happened to be close enough to hear it all.”

Lyssandra’s eyes narrowed slightly, her suspicion growing. She studied the female goblin’s face.

”No, please! I was telling the truth!” The female goblin immediately dropped to her knees, pressing her forehead into the dirt.

”Please! I confessed! It was just a way to get rid of him! I was wrong to use you. I beg you, forgive me, Great One!”

Her voice trembled, raw with fear.

A heavy silence hung between them. After a short while, the female goblin remained motionless, her forehead still glued into the ground.

Then, a soft giggle broke the tension.

”Relax, I don’t blame your little brain. And ’use me’? You said? No, no, no, you didn’t use me.”

The female goblin exhaled a shaky breath, relief washing over her. But before she could lift her head, a sharp pain shot through her skull. She gasped, her face slamming back into the dirt.

”I. Allowed. You. To. Use. Me.”

Lyssandra’s voice was cold, each word laced with menace. Her boot pressed down firmly on the back of the female goblin’s head, grinding it into the earth.

”Please!” The female goblin groaned, tears spilling down her cheeks.

”Don’t kill me! I’ll do anything!”
