Just Engaged, the Abandoned Comeback System Arrived

Chapter 159: Chapter 159: If We Weren’t in the Jade Capital, You Would Already Be Dead

Yangg Cailuan had initially been quite angry, but now, watching the scene unfold, she only felt deeply shaken. She wondered if this was really Lu Yuan. A mere fifteen-year-old who had just taken on a group of young heroes single-handedly, sending Xiaoo Dushi—a genius of the Overlord Blade Sect at the Seventh Grade Peak—flying with a single strike of his blade, and who also knew how to play the zither... He was simply incredible! A man like this was a true genius, an absolute prodigy!

”Junior Sister, I think I’ve found true love!” Yangg Cailuan said.

”Huh? Ah...” Hex Shuyan blanked for a moment, looking at the person beside her in disbelief. She wondered what her senior sister was talking about.

Then, she turned her head back to look across the field, and realization dawned on her. If her senior sister put it that way, she had to agree! Let alone her senior sister, even her own heart was fluttering! He was simply too outstanding!

”You said just now that you wanted to cut me down...” Lu Yuan dragged the Wind Thunder Saber as he walked toward Xiaoo Dushi, who had just scrambled to his feet.

Lightning flared brightly on the blade as all of its thunder runes were fully activated.

”You...” Xiaoo Dushi stared in disbelief, his eyes flickering. ”You just broke through to the Seventh Grade! There’s no way your cultivation is stronger than mine!”

”That just proves you’re utter trash.” Lu Yuan shook his head, his words completely merciless. Who said one absolutely needed overwhelming cultivation? The realm of the Martial Dao was also incredibly important.

”You...” Xiaoo Dushi gnashed his teeth, feeling immensely humiliated.

”Take another strike from me!” Lightning gathered in Lu Yuan’s hand. ”Thunder—Flash!”

”Ah! Block!” Xiaoo Dushi threw everything into his defense.

CRACK.

With a flash of electricity, Lu Yuan instantly appeared right in front of Xiaoo Dushi and swung his blade.

BANG.

Xiaoo Dushi only had time to raise his blade vertically in front of himself before both he and his weapon were sent flying. Arcs of lightning continuously coiled around his body, temporarily rendering him incapable of resisting.

CRACK.

Another flash of electricity erupted beneath Lu Yuan’s feet, and he appeared right above Xiaoo Dushi, lashing out with a kick. It sent the blade flying right out of Xiaoo Dushi’s hand. Then, he stomped down.

BANG.

Lu Yuan landed with his foot planted squarely on Xiaoo Dushi’s stomach, smashing him into the ground and creating a crater at least half a foot deep.

Dead silence blanketed the surroundings. Everyone watched the scene in absolute shock. Xiaoo Dushi, a Seventh Grade Peak expert, didn’t even have the strength to fight back against Lu Yuan. Was the gap between them truly that massive? It was too astounding, too incredible! Just how strong was Lu Yuan?

Yangg Cailuan noticed the lightning and the speed, her eyes shifting as she saw through some of his techniques. Lu Yuan had initially used the explosive force of the lightning to shatter Xiaoo Dushi’s power. Then, he had utilized the extreme speed generated by the lightning’s eruption. On top of that, Xiaoo Dushi had been paralyzed and suppressed by the electricity.

Two crucial points stood out. First, Lu Yuan’s own physical strength and cultivation had to be remarkably robust—not much weaker than Xiaoo Dushi’s. Second, Lu Yuan’s mastery over the power of lightning was astonishing, reaching a profound level of precision. It even seemed to her that the lightning was Lu Yuan’s innate divine ability, something he could control at will, rather than something produced by the Wind Thunder Saber.

She suspected that Lu Yuan might possess the Thunder Bloodline. Nothing else could explain it. If Lu Yuan had the Thunder Bloodline, it would perfectly explain his rapid growth and overwhelming strength. Furthermore, it meant his future prospects were even greater. She figured that a Fourth Grade bottleneck wouldn’t be able to stop him, and he even had a considerable chance of reaching the Third Grade.

”Lu Yuan, you...” Xiaoo Dushi glared at Lu Yuan through gritted teeth, his face flushed red. For a swordsman who specialized in the blade to have his weapon knocked out of his hand was an absolute disgrace. Furthermore, he was currently being stepped on by Lu Yuan in full view of the public.

”You said you were going to cut me down just now. It wouldn’t be excessive if I killed you right here, would it?” Lu Yuan pressed the Wind Thunder Saber against Xiaoo Dushi’s neck.

”You... I...” Xiaoo Dushi’s eyes darted around. It was true that he had acted too arrogantly earlier, and now he couldn’t back down. What was he supposed to do?

”I... I yield!”

”But you wanted to cut me down earlier.” Lu Yuan wasn’t going to let it go so easily. How could he just shrug it off when someone had threatened to kill him?

Lightning flared on the Wind Thunder Saber once again, shocking Xiaoo Dushi so much that he convulsed, nearly rolling his eyes back and foaming at the mouth.

”I...” Xiaoo Dushi desperately tried to condense his True Essence in secret.

”Lu Yuan, please give me some face and let him go,” Yangg Cailuan said as she walked over.

”You?” Lu Yuan looked at Yangg Cailuan. ”Do we know each other? What face do you have with me? When did you ever earn it?”

”You...” Yangg Cailuan’s expression contorted, looking rather colorful. But she knew that she was indeed entirely in the wrong. ”My name is Yangg Cailuan. I am a True Disciple of the Jade Peak Sect, and I apologize to you for my behavior yesterday. Is that enough?”

”Don’t force yourself! You’re making it sound like I coerced you into apologizing,” Lu Yuan quickly shook his head.

”I...” Yangg Cailuan took a deep breath. ”I am doing it voluntarily. I am apologizing willingly, and I sincerely apologize for my actions yesterday! I am very sorry!

”Everything that happened today is also because of me. Xiaoo Dushi sought you out and spoke those angry words because of me. He didn’t truly have the intent to kill, and besides, he can’t even beat you.

”Feel free to make any demands. Whatever I can agree to, I absolutely will, without any hesitation!”

”I have no demands.” Lu Yuan put away the Wind Thunder Saber. ”I’m just a person who dislikes trouble. Whenever someone causes trouble for me, I usually resolve it once and for all at the root.”

”There absolutely won’t be any more in the future!” Yangg Cailuan repeatedly assured him. ”He won’t cause any either, and he will never trouble you again!”

”I hope so,” Lu Yuan said as he crouched down. ”If we weren’t in the Jade Capital, you’d already be dead.”

”I...” Xiaoo Dushi’s hand crushed the floor tile beneath him. ”I will defeat you in the future!”

”Heh,” Lu Yuan chuckled, standing up. ”Those who have been defeated by me will never be able to catch up. I am not like the rest of you. In fact, you won’t even be able to see my silhouette fade into the distance.”

The crowd was entirely shaken. Too arrogant! Too presumptuous! To think he would utter such brazen words! However, there were twenty or thirty Seventh Grade experts here today, and not a single one could stop Lu Yuan. That already explained everything. Each sect certainly had their own supreme prodigies, but none of them were present today. They could only wait for the future...

”Let’s go,” Lu Yuan called out to Su Wan.

”Let’s go!” Su Wan fluttered cheerfully like a butterfly. ”Lu Yuan, you were so handsome just now! I was completely dazzled. How are you so amazing?”

”It was just luck,” Lu Yuan smiled.

”Luck?” Su Wan was speechless. How could you be so lucky all the time?

Yangg Cailuan watched them with envy. ”Lu Yuan will reach at least the Fourth Grade in the future... Who is that girl beside him?”

”I don’t know. You’d probably have to ask Second Miss Mu about that,” Hex Shuyan said, her gaze profound.

”Mu Lingyan!” The corners of Yangg Cailuan’s mouth suddenly curled up. ”I heard she was defeated yesterday, too.”

”Ah? Oh.” Hex Shuyan paused for a moment. ”Senior Sister, do you think that’s a good thing?”

”Hmm?” Yangg Cailuan’s expression changed.

Back at the Demon Suppression Bureau, everything proceeded as usual.

The news hadn’t spread yet, and neither Lu Yuan nor Su Wan were the type to go around bragging about it. However, it was a certainty that the tale would quickly sweep through the East District of the Jade Capital. After all, quite a few people had been involved, all of whom were the elites of various sects. Furthermore, it was connected to yesterday’s events and to Mu Lingyan.

Of course, Lu Yuan couldn’t care less. He went to work normally, clocked out, and headed to the Yan Residence in the evening to forge Profound Weapon Arrows. At the same time, under the management of the Liu Family, the other profound weapon zither—Phoenix Charm, which he had crafted alongside Yan Qing—was put up for auction.
