Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 942: Chapter 942: The Final Match

The Elder looked at the numbers on the big screen, clearly having some doubts in his heart.

He softly said, ”Family Head, Xue Zhao won once in the previous contest, and if Xue Wei wins this time, it would be a tie between them. So who should the Saint Position go to?”

The Family Head, upon hearing this, burst into laughter, his voice resonating and full of confidence.

He waved his hand and said, ”Elder, you are overthinking this. Xue Wei is only slightly weaker than Xue Zhao in terms of strength, but he is much stronger in other aspects. If you ask me, giving the Saint Position directly to Xue Wei is the wisest choice.”

He paused for a moment, his gaze sweeping over the clansmen below the stage, and continued, ”Xue Wei has done well in handling clan affairs and gaining the trust of the clansmen. His abilities and talents have already been recognized by everyone. The voting result this time speaks for itself. By comparison, although Xue Zhao is strong, he is clearly inadequate to take on the role of Saint Heir in other aspects.”

Just as the Family Head finished speaking, some elders hurried to stand out and refute.

Among them, an aging elder with a serious expression said solemnly, ”Family Head, such a decision seems too rash. If the competition between them is tied, it’s unreasonable to directly make Xue Wei the Saint Heir. The struggle for the Saint Position should be just and fair.”

Another elder nodded in agreement, with obvious dissatisfaction in his tone.

”Family Head, Xue Zhao’s strength should not be underestimated. She has faced numerous disasters lately and hasn’t had a chance to display her full range of abilities. Making the decision about the Saint Position based solely on this voting result is unfair.”

A middle-aged elder spoke more bluntly, frowning as he said, ”Xue Zhao has already proven her strength in the previous competition. If we favor Xue Wei just because of this voting result, where is our Xue Family’s fairness and justice? We cannot overlook truly capable people because of temporary gains or losses.”

Supporters of Xue Zhao also nodded in agreement.

A young elder couldn’t help but stand up and speak excitedly, ”Xue Zhao indeed has her shortcomings, but her strength and potential are undeniable. We cannot make a hasty decision based on a fleeting voting result.”

Another woman stood up, her voice firm, ”We should give Xue Zhao a fair chance to compete, rather than ignoring her talents because of personal bias.”

The Family Head’s smile gradually faded as he looked at the voices of opposition.

He knew the elders’ opposition was not unfounded.

At this moment, the atmosphere among the group grew increasingly tense, and the elders’ gaze focused on the Family Head, awaiting the final decision.

The Family Head pondered for a moment, then nodded, his tone becoming more serious.

”Alright,” the Family Head said, ”since everyone has objections to my decision, we will have an additional contest to ensure the fairness and justice of the result.”

He lifted his head and looked resolutely toward the clansmen below the stage.

He continued, ”In this way, whoever wins, whoever becomes our Xue Family’s Saint Heir or Saintess, will entirely depend on this final contest. Whether it’s Xue Wei or Xue Zhao, they will have an open and fair chance to prove themselves.”

As soon as the Family Head finished speaking, those opposing elders finally revealed satisfied expressions.

An elderly elder nodded slightly, his tone containing a few hints of relief, ”That’s fair. If we are to choose the most suitable person, they should be given a fair chance to compete.”

Another elder also exhaled in relief, showing a slight smile, ”Family Head is wise. With an additional contest, we can ensure the fairness of the result, so everyone can accept it wholeheartedly.”

The middle-aged elder also showed a satisfied smile, nodding as he said, ”Such a decision is indeed sensible and reasonable. Whether it’s Xue Wei or Xue Zhao, they should have the chance to prove themselves in open competition.”

Supporters of Xue Zhao also showed relieved expressions.

The remaining elders all spoke excitedly, ”Family Head, this decision is the fairest, and we are all willing to accept it.”

The previous Great Elder also smiled and said, ”Exactly, by having one more contest, we can truly choose the best Saint Heir or Saintess.”

The elders’ satisfaction was evident, their faces showing relaxed smiles; they were clearly pleased and recognized the Family Head’s decision.

Seeing this, the Family Head’s face once again displayed a hint of a smile.

He knew that such a decision would not only quell disputes but also ensure the successor of the Saint Position truly gained the support of the clansmen.

However, even with one more contest, Xue Wei would certainly win.

After all, these elders hadn’t mentioned what the additional contest should be about.

”Then it’s decided,” the Family Head finally said, ”Let’s look forward to the final competition and see who can ultimately prevail to become the new generation Saint Heir or Saintess of our Xue Family.”

At the center of the arena, a large screen formed by Spiritual Power hung high, emitting a faint golden glow.

The countdown on the screen slowly decreased, with only fifteen minutes left.

Below the screen, the vote counts for the two were displayed: Xue Wei’s votes reached as high as 9,733, while Xue Zhao’s votes remained at 6,748.

This difference of several thousand votes was especially noticeable, even though Xue Zhao’s supporters were still trying hard to vote for her, but the growth rate of the votes clearly couldn’t catch up with Xue Wei.

On the screen, Xue Wei’s name appeared particularly striking under the golden glow, while Xue Zhao’s name appeared somewhat dim.

The clansmen below the stage were watching the big screen closely, discussing the current situation in low voices.

Some of Xue Wei’s supporters showed smug smiles, evidently full of confidence in Xue Wei’s victory.

Xue Zhao’s supporters, however, seemed a little anxious and uneasy, frequently whispering to each other, trying to encourage one another.

”Look, Xue Wei’s votes are already so much ahead,” a young person shook his head, with a tone of helplessness, ”It seems like Xue Zhao really doesn’t have any hope this time.”

”Indeed, the gap is too large,” another woman sighed, ”Even if we try harder to vote, it’s difficult to catch up with Xue Wei’s votes.”

”It’s a pity, Xue Zhao is so strong, but this competition seems to be really unfavorable to her,” a middle-aged man frowned, appearing somewhat unwilling, ”I hope the additional contest can give her a chance.”

Every clansman present was closely watching the numbers on the big screen, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the final moment.

The countdown on the screen gradually decreased, with time passing second by second, and the atmosphere throughout the arena became increasingly tense.

Xue Wei stood on the stage, his gaze swept over the numbers on the big screen with an air of pride, his mouth slightly curling in a mocking smile.

He deliberately walked over to Xue Zhao’s side, his tone full of mockery and confidence, ”Look at the numbers on the screen, Xue Zhao. The vote gap is already so big, there’s still fifteen minutes left, and the numbers aren’t moving at all, really boring.”
