interstellar chief prosecutor

Chapter 35: Leaping in the Abyss

Hearing Yisi’s answer, the group of sophomores exploded as if they had been stabbed in a hornet’s nest.

”That’s unreasonable, you arrogant bastard!”

”Simply arrogant.”

You Yisi’s words angered everyone, and even those who couldn’t stand the excitement stepped forward and pulled his collar.Seeing that a dispute was about to escalate, the students in the classroom watched the drama silently, Shen Yanwen was anxiously about to make a move, but You Yisi was counting silently in his heart.

Three, two, one.

The school bell rings.

”What are you doing here?”

A majestic voice came from behind the crowd.

I saw a middle-aged professor in the aisle, glaring at them.

”This is a first-grade classroom. The second-grade students are stuck here without going back to your classroom. Do they want to have their credits deducted?”

”Professor Modi...” the second graders said lazily.

The time is just right, thank you Beichen’s teacher for always coming so punctually. You Yisi straightened his crumpled collar and stood obediently like everyone else.

”If you don’t want to deduct credits, go back to your classroom!” Modi scolded, ”Now, don’t hinder my class.”

”But he...” One of the students wanted to justify something.

”One point will be deducted from your credits. If you still want to graduate smoothly, go back and think about how to make up for this point instead of wasting time here.” The cold-faced professor was relentless, and the other students who still wanted to talk suddenly stopped. Gaining the courage, they all bowed their heads and left. Before leaving, he couldn’t even turn his head and stare at You Yisi.

Power is really a good thing, You Yisi sighed.

At this time, the professor turned around and stared at him again, ”Why are you messing with those second-year students?”

”No, it’s those people—” Shen Yanwen wanted to explain to him.

You Yisi gave him a gentle tug, stepped forward and said in a low voice, ”Sorry, teacher, I was careless and caused inconvenience to your class.” He could see that for this professor, it was more important than explaining It is more effective to admit mistakes directly.

”Hmph, don’t call me teacher, call me professor.” Professor Modi adjusted his bow tie and walked into the classroom. ”This is not an example.”

”Yes, Professor!”

You Yisi and Shen Yanwen walked in behind the professor, and, like other students, began to listen to the professor’s self-introduction.

”Modi Aisel. You can call me Professor Modi or Mr. Aisel, but you can’t call me by my name directly.” Modi said coldly: ”Students are students, professors are professors, teachers and students You need to understand clearly the seniority between you, understand?”

”Understood, Professor Modi!”

”Okay.” Modi nodded with satisfaction, ”I think you all understand that this class teaches astronomy, and I am your astronomy teacher. As a candidate for a prosecutor, what you have to do is not only to be familiar with After reading and memorizing the Star Code, you must also understand the value and meaning of the Star Code.”

Professor Modi, who was standing on the podium, pushed his glasses and asked, ”But before that, I want to ask you a question. Why do you want to take the entrance examination for the Star Law School and the Candidate Department for Prosecutors? Answer one by one. .”

”For justice!”

”Because I want to hunt down criminals.”

”Compared to simply exercising my body and skills, I think I am more suitable for studying at Star Law School.”

”Well, I... my mother said that it’s good for me to hang out in the Star Law Academy, and there is no way out in the Guardian Academy.” When it was Shen Yanwen’s turn, he gave such a dumbfounding answer.I thought he would be reprimanded, but Professor Modi nodded and praised him.

”It’s good to have self-knowledge and to be able to see yourself clearly.” Then the conversation changed and he asked You Yisi, ”So, what about you?”

”...” Stared at by those sharp eyes, You Yisi touched the goosebumps on his arms and said, ”I—”

”Do you think you are very talented and suitable for studying at Star Law School?”

”Do not--”

”Otherwise, you think that the others are no longer enough to satisfy you, so you come to challenge the most elite and most difficult department?”

”That--”

”Those things are actually not important. I just want to know, what do you think of the profession of prosecutor? For justice, to reduce crime? Or something else?”

Please, Professor, can you give me a chance to finish a sentence?

You Yisi took a deep breath and said, ”A prosecutor is just a job just like any other profession. I don’t think being a prosecutor represents justice, and I don’t think I can reduce crime in the entire Star Territory by myself. Rate.”

”Go on.” Modi looked at him.

”As a profession, only prosecutors and judges need to read and understand the Star Code. Knights only need to use their power to perform their duties, but we need to understand the content of the Star Code. Not only do we need to know what it stipulates, but we also need to understand it. Why is it so stipulated. People in the world often say that we are in order to fulfill justice, but what is justice? It is invisible and intangible, and there is not even a unified standard. What scale should be used to measure it? Represents justice, but it is the closest approach to justice.”

Everyone in the classroom held their breath listening to him continue.

You Yisi said: ”So I think, just like asking us to understand the meaning of star law, becoming a prosecutor is not about implementing your justice to others. It is about distributing justice appropriately to the greatest extent.”

”Distributing justice?” Mo Diruo said with interest, ”Is this why you chose Star Law School and the path of being a prosecutor?”

”No.” Yu Yisi said, ”An ancient sage once said that there are two kinds of justice in the human world. The justice of distribution and the justice of correction (Note 1). The justice of distribution is what people deserve .He gets what he gives. This is the most basic justice. But sometimes this principle is broken, and at this time the broken principle needs to be corrected.”

”Correct what?” Modi asked.

”Correct what he doesn’t deserve.” You Yisi said, ”Whether it is crime, illegality, or unknown usurpation, those who commit these acts actually destroy the original distributional justice and social fairness. order. Therefore, at this time, a sensible person is needed to correct this injustice. This is the justice of correction. I think that prosecutors, like judges, are the ones who perform the duty of correction when injustice occurs. So We need reason more than anyone else. That’s why we need to come to your class, Professor.”

Modi smiled slightly at the corner of his mouth, and then pulled it down again, ”Ahem, even if you please me, don’t even think about getting a high score at the end of the semester.”

”I’m not flattering you, I just really think so.” You Yisi blinked.

Professor Modi nodded with satisfaction, it seems that this Xiao Yisi is not as arrogant as he thought at first. This made him breathe a sigh of relief. You must know that as a professor, the last thing you want to see is a promising seedling, losing yourself because of various foreign objects and reasons.

”I hope you will remember what you said today.” Modi told him, ”whether or not you will become a prosecutor in the future.”

”I will.” You Yisi nodded deeply.

Then, Modi questioned a few more people and began to give formal lectures to the students. It has to be said that as a professor of purely theoretical subjects, Modi is still very good at teaching. He did not turn the classroom into a boring reading club, but combined reality and let students think for themselves.

Order, liberty, justice. The three most basic values of the Star Code are the discussion content of today’s theoretical course.

With You Yisi throwing bricks to attract jade, the freshmen are very active, and Modi also encourages them to speak, even if it is not correct, as long as you speak your mind.Under the perfect communication between teachers and students, a class came to an end unconsciously.

”Well, that’s it for today’s class. See you next week.” Modi stood on the podium to announce the end of get out of class, but added another sentence.

”Xiao Yisi. I am very interested in your two views of justice. If we have time, we can continue to discuss.”

”Yes, Professor. Thank you.”

You Yisi said sincerely that his thanks were more for Modi’s rescue today.

Professor Modi glanced at him again, put away the book and left. And as soon as he left, the classroom boiled up, and several people ran to You Yisi’s seat.

”You did an amazing job today!”

”Where did you learn those theories?”

”May I hear more from you?”

”Actually, I have a different idea about this.”

Seven or eight students surrounded You Yisi. They didn’t seem to enjoy speaking in class, so they came to You Yisi to continue the discussion after class. You Yisi accepted everything and answered their questions one by one without any impatience.

The indifference and isolation before this time seemed to have been left behind. For these young people who are only 15 years old, the temporary prejudice can quickly be erased after a period of getting along.

Someone even apologized to him for his previous performance: ”I’m sorry, Xiao Yisi, I thought you were very arrogant at first, and I didn’t like you very much. I’m sorry, when you were blocked by the second graders, Didn’t help you.”

”No, it’s okay, people who don’t know me will think I’m arrogant and get angry.” You Yisi said slowly, ”And people who know me—”

”How about it?”

”They’d be so mad they wanted to punch me.”

”Hahahaha!”

The awkward atmosphere in the classroom caused by the estrangement was quickly diluted by the young people’s laughter.

You Yisi couldn’t help but sigh, it’s nice to be young, to not hold grudges is not to count, and to do things according to one’s heart.Whether he likes you or hates you, it shows on his face.Especially these people in the Beichen galaxy, most of them have no heart at all.

However, sometimes such people are quite careless. You Yisi thought, just like the sophomores who came to make trouble in the morning, it seemed that they were being used to find fault. However, how did the person behind this think of linking Senior Brother Christie with himself? It’s impossible to think about it.But wait, what if...

You Yisi was lost in thought, when suddenly he heard someone knock on the door.

”It looks like you’re having a lot of fun here.”

The procurator candidates in the classroom looked up, and saw a man in a black uniform standing at the door, looking at them with a half-smile.

Noticing that the students were looking at him, he took off his training cap and gave a knightly salute.

At the same time, look up and smile.

”Good morning, my lovely little princesses.”

The author has something to say:

Note 1: Aristotle, Distributive and Corrective Justice.

I have tried to simplify the theoretical part, but this is also one of my original intentions for writing this article.
