Chapter 328: Chapter 325: Decision

Chu Zhiyuan donned a piece of Da Lie Armor.

The armor differed from the standard armor of Da Jing, with a hard plate in the front and back, and soft fabric at the limbs.

This made it more lightweight, but also reduced its protection considerably.

The helmet was a half-helmet, only covering the upper part of the head, leaving the neck exposed.

A tall red tassel on the helmet top resembled a rooster’s comb, making it very conspicuous.

Standing on a high platform in the martial training field of the military camp, gazing at the more than a thousand soldiers of the Phoenix Camp, Chu Zhiyuan slowly said, ”This operation is a surprise attack on Nanyun Island of the Da Lie Dynasty.”

Everyone looked confused, with a touch of surprise.

They didn’t know where Nanyun Island was; they only heard the three words ’Da Lie Dynasty.’

Chu Zhiyuan said, ”The Court received news that the Da Lie Dynasty and the Da Guang Dynasty plan to take advantage of our Da Jing being at war with Da Meng, and unite with Da Meng to attack us from both fronts.”

”Attack us?!”

”Da Lie and Da Guang want to attack our Da Jing?”

”Really? Do they have the guts!”

”I don’t think so?”

”They’re probably instigated by Da Meng, acting impulsively, small country with few people, lacking insight!”

”Also some blinded by greed!”

”They need to be dealt with!”

”Need to teach them a harsh lesson!”

...

Standing with a tall and steady posture on the high platform, Chu Zhiyuan calmly and composedly scanned the crowd.

Behind him stood Zou Fang, Bai Ningyu, and Guo Chi, among them four.

In addition, there were secretly four Great Grandmasters, including Huang Cheng.

He had never hesitated to seek help from the Great Grandmasters, with the Grandmasters of the Grandmaster Mansion having mobilized most frequently for him.

This time, he requested at least four Great Grandmasters, and Chu Qingyan readily agreed.

They also wanted to see if the Phoenix Camp was truly up to the task.

Chu Zhiyuan said, ”Our task is to sabotage their plan, so they don’t dare cross the line.”

”General, how should we proceed?” someone called out.

Chu Zhiyuan smiled and said, ”So we must be proactive, not waiting until they act to be forced to respond, ... we are wearing Da Lie Armor, do you think we should infiltrate the Da Lie Dynasty and launch a sneak attack, or directly attack the Da Guang Dynasty, thus triggering continued warfare between the two dynasties?”

The crowd immediately began to discuss.

Bai Ningyu opened his mouth to speak, then closed it.

He disapproved of Chu Zhiyuan’s approach.

Such matters were usually discussed by the General and a few deputy generals, then a strategy was set.

The soldiers below just needed to follow orders, without knowing too much.

They were deliberately kept from knowing too much.

The more they knew, the more complicated their thoughts, the more distractions, which was detrimental to action.

Chu Zhiyuan purposefully did the opposite, deliberately revealing the plan of action.

He even encouraged the soldiers to discuss and express their opinions, which was indeed unusual.

The martial training field buzzed with discussion for a moment.

Each team, as a unit, discussed internally, and even teams discussed among each other.

Most thought they should directly surprise attack the Da Guang Dynasty’s border army, catch them unprepared, and then swiftly withdraw.

How could the Da Guang Dynasty take this lying down, they would surely retaliate against the Da Lie Dynasty.

The two dynasties were long-time enemies, and this move would be like dropping a spark into oil, igniting a prairie fire in an instant.

Da Lie and Da Guang would once again be engulfed in war, temporarily unable to focus on Da Jing’s Eastern Territory.

When Da Jing was free, they could properly deal with them, especially when they fought to mutual exhaustion.

That would be the most perfect.

Chu Zhiyuan watched them discuss with a smile.

Gradually, they had a discussion result.

”Sir, let’s launch a surprise attack on Da Guang Dynasty!”

”Yes, surprise attack Da Guang!”

Chu Zhiyuan smiled and shook his head, ”If you can think of this, others might too; could our action be detected?”

”No way? We are marching secretly.”

”A hundred-plus people per team, we shouldn’t have left any traces, nor made much noise.”

...

They felt the commotion was small, with no traces of marching, unlikely to be detected.

Chu Zhiyuan shook his head, ”Da Meng’s spies are extremely formidable, and no one knows how many eyes and ears Da Lie Dynasty and Da Guang Dynasty have inserted.”

”Then sir, what should we do?”

”Surprise attack Nanyun Island of the Da Lie Dynasty,” Chu Zhiyuan said slowly, ”make them suspicious and paranoid, ... open the map.”

Guo Chi jumped off the platform, quickly returned, shouldering a long scroll, twice his height.

With the help of the other three, the scroll slowly unfolded.

It was a huge map of the sea regions of the Eastern Territory, Da Lie, and Da Guang Dynasties.

The map fluttered in the air, visible to everyone.

They all had cultivation, at least Innate, and operating their inner power in their eyes, they could see clearly.

The three characters of Nanyun Island were especially clear.

It marked their current location, the location of Nanyun Island, and the sailing route.

This sailing map puzzled them, as it went directly north, then turned east.

It was like drawing a semicircle.

Chu Zhiyuan looked at them and slowly said, ”There is also a batch of Da Guang Dynasty armor on Nanyun Island.”

Everyone was stunned.

Chu Zhiyuan said, ”If all goes well, we can also make use of this batch of armor and head to Da Guang’s Northern Territory.”

Immediately, everyone’s eyes lit up.

Punch Da Lie and kick Da Guang.

Absolutely exhilarating!

They inherently looked down on Da Lie Dynasty and Da Guang Dynasty, considering them tiny nations, easy to defeat.

Now they dared to boldly provoke our Da Jing, clearly pathless to death.

This time, they would teach them a lesson!

Chu Zhiyuan slowly said, ”The Da Lie Dynasty has elite troops stationed on Nanyun Island; they are still wary of our Da Jing. According to current information, they amassed 30,000 troops, and they are still increasing.”

”Thirty thousand...” Everyone frowned.

Thirty thousand was too many.

Inherently, they looked down on Da Lie and Da Guang, but truly fighting, they didn’t think they could fight ten-to-one, much less one to thirty.

Emotion was emotion; the actual situation was the actual situation.

These were elite troops, experienced soldiers from years of warfare, not easy to deal with.

Chu Zhiyuan said, ”If we can wipe out these 30,000 elite troops, there’s no need to act against Da Guang, as Da Guang wouldn’t miss this chance; after all, they’re old enemies!”

Seeing Da Jing wipe out these 30,000 elite troops, Da Guang would certainly panic while not missing this opportunity.

The situation would immediately reverse.

Chu Zhiyuan said, ”One thousand against thirty thousand, without an array, it is indeed impossible to achieve.”

Everyone’s spirits lifted.

They recalled the Phoenix Seeking Phoenix Formation they had been diligently practicing, becoming more and more proficient.

This formation’s power was astonishing, capable of exerting several times the strength.

Chu Zhiyuan said, ”If you could practice for another month, you’d be more confident, but time waits for no one; in a few days, Da Lie and Da Guang will formally dispatch troops, and we must act before they do, even if rushed.”

Everyone nodded, expressing understanding.

Chu Zhiyuan said, ”Therefore, sophisticated tactics are needed, here are the tactics.”

He gestured with his hand.

Another large scroll slowly unfolded.

It depicted the map of Nanyun Island, marking where the military camps were, with four military camps occupying four positions on the island.

Each camp had about 8,000 people.

Each camp’s map was clearly marked.

Where the main tent of the camp was, where the sentries were distributed, how the military tents were distributed, and how many people were at each position.

Chu Zhiyuan then began analyzing how to conquer the first military camp, the positions and attack directions of each of the ten major teams.

At that time, what types of instructions he would issue, and how each team and squad should act upon receiving instructions.

Chu Zhiyuan spoke with meticulous detail, explaining each detail clearly, ensuring everyone understood their task, and knowing what to do when.

After speaking, he allowed the soldiers below to freely ask questions, rotating one major team at a time.

He answered each one, explaining repeatedly.

His goal was to let everyone understand the action route, action objectives, and action steps.
