Imperial Cultivation

Chapter 291: Chapter 288 Beginning

”Zou Fang.”

”Princely Heir?”

”Prepare the pen and ink.”

”Yes.”

A letter was quickly written, addressed to Xiao Ruoling.

In the letter, he mentioned that the Sky-reaching Grass, which was previously taken back, could now be retrieved again.

With the progress of cultivation, the original Sky-reaching Grass was no longer a threat, but rather a benefit.

It could aid in practicing the Dragon Transformation Technique.

After finishing the letter, Chu Zhiyuan picked up the letter from Prince Ying, Chu Mingrui.

In the letter, Chu Mingrui mentioned that the training for the Thunder Spear Formation was excessively difficult and progress was slow.

Chu Mingrui’s main goal was to train a new battle formation, and he had been promoting this recently.

With over two hundred Chasing Wind Cavalry as examples, and having witnessed their battle achievements, pushing the Thunder Spear Formation faced little resistance.

People are often hasty for quick success, and need to see to believe. Talking about the new battle formation in glowing terms, yet there is still reluctance, as it’s exhausting and may not yield results.

Once they saw the Thunder Spear Formation firsthand and experienced its power, the entire military became enthusiastic.

Unfortunately, training for the battle formation cannot be adeptly done; it is destined to be a grueling task.

More than a month passed, yet the progress was negligible.

This left Chu Mingrui feeling quite helpless.

He knew what was needed to train properly, but the key was finding someone capable of doing it.

Chu Zhiyuan noticed Chu Mingrui’s hint but had no intention of responding.

Chu Mingrui wanted him to come and help.

But he did not want to go.

With the Thunder Spear Formation, having consecutively slain four Da Meng Chiliarchs, and even a Centurion, Da Meng had been intimidated and dared not make any rash attacks for the time being.

He wanted to first establish the Martial Arts Hall.

The establishment of the Martial Arts Hall was of great importance, as it would enhance the prowess of the entire Da Jing Dynasty’s Martial Arts masters, and also aid in his own understanding and progress in martial arts.

——

”The Emperor disagrees with your plan.”

When Chu Zhiyuan arrived at Mingwu Hall the next day, he heard this from Chu Qingfeng.

He frowned, ”What is it that Imperial Grandfather finds inappropriate?”

”Your cultivation level is too low; it is too early to subdue the Fearless Sect.”

”Do I have to wait until I reach the Great Grandmaster level?”

”The disciples of the Fearless Sect are all audacious; how can they easily submit to a Princely Heir? The Evil Sect inherently does not revere the Court, your status may not be effective.”

”Without sufficient cultivation, I can’t hold them down?”

”Exactly, so there’s no need to rush this matter; plan it out after reaching the Great Grandmaster stage.”

”Uncle, actually, suppressing them doesn’t necessarily require a Great Grandmaster.”

”Ultimately, you still need a Great Grandmaster. If after deploying a Great Grandmaster you still can’t completely control them, wouldn’t it all be in vain?”

”...Indeed.” Chu Zhiyuan slowly nodded.

Ultimately, it was his cultivation that limited him.

He could understand the Emperor’s concerns.

Eliminating the Great Grandmaster of the Fearless Sect is not easy and could potentially cost the Court a Great Grandmaster.

This is what the Court is most worried about.

Every Great Grandmaster is crucial, instrumental in the exploration and excavation of the Four Great Grotto Heavens and Secret Lands.

Without them, the resources of the Heavenly Treasure Department would be a joke.

”What about the Martial Arts Hall then?”

”That is not an issue; the Emperor also agrees and feels your idea is good.”

”Then I’ll start preparing?”

”Yes, go ahead. Let’s see your influence over the Four Great Sects and the Military Suppression Department.”

Chu Zhiyuan smiled.

He believed his reputation would definitely be effective; those at Innate Perfection would certainly want to find a shortcut to quickly reach the Grandmaster level.

The gap between a Grandmaster and an Innate Master is vast, both in cultivation and status, worlds apart.

For the disciples of the Four Great Sects, it’s like a carp leaping over the dragon gate, an endless temptation.

His seamless advancement to the Grandmaster realm was sure to be envied, and they would want to find such a shortcut.

——

The news quickly spread.

On his way back from the Ministry of Rites to the Prince Mansion, he saw Wen Qianqian and Xu Mengyu seemingly waiting for him.

From afar, they waved to greet him.

Chu Zhiyuan approached.

He noticed Huang Shiron was absent again; she had been particularly busy these past few days.

”Princely Heir, we heard you are setting up a Martial Arts Hall?” Wen Qianqian asked eagerly.

Chu Zhiyuan smiled and nodded, ”Yes, I’m planning to find a place to help those at Innate Perfection to quickly find the Grandmaster path, without delaying too long.”

”Princely Heir, we’re both at Innate Perfection; can we join?”

”Of course you can.”

”Can we truly quickly find the Grandmaster path?”

”Why not give it a try?” Chu Zhiyuan laughed, ”It’s certainly better than groping around slowly on your own. My understanding is likely better than yours.”

Xu Mengyu asked, ”Princely Heir, when will it start?”

”Anytime,” Chu Zhiyuan said, ”Just need to find a courtyard and tidy up a bit; there’s no need to be too particular.”

”Do we have to stay there and seclude ourselves?”

”No need for that.” Chu Zhiyuan shook his head with a smile, ”Just half an hour or an hour in the afternoon. My time is also limited.”

He originally planned to practice in seclusion, continually observing each person’s changes.

Later he thought it unnecessary to always remain in seclusion.

Not everyone is like him, constantly progressing, constantly changing.

Observing their day-to-day changes would suffice.

”If that’s the case, there will be many people,” Wen Qianqian said.

Chu Zhiyuan smiled, ”Are there many at Innate Perfection in the Military Suppression Department?”

”Quite a few are stuck at Innate Perfection.” Xu Mengyu softly said, ”Even within the Four Great Sects, there are quite a few.”

Chu Zhiyuan said, ”Then they can come and try.”

”Why don’t we try first?” Xu Mengyu laughed, ”Once they see the effect, they’ll all come over.”

Chu Zhiyuan laughed, ”Then let’s give it a try?”

”Let’s adjust our patrol time and start this afternoon?”

”Sure, at a courtyard near my new residence, with the words ’Martial Arts Hall’ written on it.”

”Then we’ll come over this afternoon!”

The two women’s eyes glowed.

——

After having lunch, Chu Zhiyuan took a nap and then went to the Martial Arts Hall.

The so-called Martial Arts Hall was the residence adjacent to his new home.

As for how the house was bought and how much silver was spent, it wasn’t his concern.

When he arrived at the Martial Arts Hall, Wen Qianqian and Xu Mengyu were already waiting there.

They wandered around the Martial Arts Hall, finding it novel.

The arrangement of the Martial Arts Hall was simple.

The front courtyard was a Martial Arts Training Ground; the second courtyard had several meditation cushions for sitting and practicing inner strength.

The side rooms were available for practicing martial arts.

The third courtyard was a place for changing clothes.

After Chu Zhiyuan arrived, the two women immediately came over, asking how to start.

Chu Zhiyuan had them practice their swordsmanship once, then brought them to the second courtyard to practice the mental method.

The two women were not on guard; the mental methods of the Four Great Sects were never to be passed on, but for the Princely Heir, Chu Zhiyuan, there was no need for secrecy.

The core foundation of the Four Great Sects was the visualization, which was truly never to be passed on, and could only be involved once reaching the Grandmaster Realm.

Chu Zhiyuan had long been observing them insightfully since he first met them.

Observing insight again now, he could clearly see their changes.

At the same time, he was also observing Huang Shiron.

Clearly seeing the changes in Huang Shiron before and after becoming a Grandmaster.

Thus, for him, the disciples of the White Cloud Sword Palace were the most familiar and least challenging.

”For the two of you, don’t practice your own mental method for now, find another one to practice.”

The two women looked at him with curiosity.

Chu Zhiyuan said, ”Qianqian, you find a fierce and powerful mental method to practice, extremely yang and strong. Mengyu, you find a soft and gentle mental method to practice... Forget it, I’ll write it for you.”

Zou Fang prepared the pen and ink.

Chu Zhiyuan wrote two pieces of the mental method and handed them to the two women, ”Practice this for a couple of days and see the results.”

”...Yes.” The two women each took a piece of paper, examining it with curiosity.
