Imperial Cultivation

Chapter 7: Chapter 6 Taiching_2

Not to mention the matter that Chu Zhitian is most proud of.

Every response from Chu Zhitian was reluctant, unwilling to speak, yet eventually uttered out, already having said a few words to Chu Zhiyuan amid his hesitation.

”It’s nothing...”

Chu Zhitian pressed his lips tightly.

He felt both proud and a touch of bitterness, his heart was moved.

Once his heart was touched, emotionally, he felt much closer, and speaking with Chu Zhiyuan was no longer unwilling.

Chu Zhiyuan showed immense interest in the war on the northwest border, which struck Chu Zhitian’s chord, soon making him eloquent, and they talked with great enthusiasm.

Chu Zhiyuan smiled at Chu Zhitian: ”Among my father’s generation, I admire Tenth Uncle the most, hiding his name, a mere soldier who climbed to become a general through sheer military merit. Not to mention his wisdom and talent, just the courage alone makes others ashamed.”

Chu Zhitian forcibly suppressed his smile.

Going into the army under an alias as a mere soldier, without guards, and being at the northwest border, was indeed risking one’s life.

In the Da Jing Royal Family, no one dared to do so over the generations, except for my father, no one else had such courage and audacity, hence he was titled Prince Ying.

Other princes were titled after their territories, like King Qing, territory in Qing State, like Prince Huai, territory in Huai State, like King Jing, territory in Jing State.

Only Prince Ying was not titled after a territory.

As they were talking, a tall youth arrived at the Martial Arts Training Ground, exceptionally handsome, with a cold demeanor and indifferent gaze, none other than Chu Zhichuan, the Princely Heir of the Thirteenth Prince, Prince Huai.

”Tenth Brother.” Chu Zhiyuan clasped his fists and smiled.

Chu Zhichuan nodded indifferently, closed his eyes, took a stance, and began practicing.

The best time to cultivate the Lesser Purple Sun Technique is in the morning, when the sunrise brings purple energy from the east, making it the thickest in the heavens and earth, and the efficiency of practicing is the highest.

Chu Zhiyuan did not mind Chu Zhichuan’s indifference, as Chu Zhichuan’s temperament was different from Chu Zhitian.

Chu Zhitian’s aloofness is social anxiety, with a somewhat honest and simple nature, while Chu Zhichuan’s aloofness is arrogance, with eyes untainted by dust, disdainful of mundane affairs, focusing only on cultivation.

Therefore, there was no need to get close to Chu Zhichuan, maintaining a normal distance was enough.

Chu Zhiyuan continued, ”After reaching the Innate realm, will Ninth Brother also join the army?”

Chu Zhitian shook his head helplessly.

Chu Zhiyuan smiled and asked, ”Would Aunt Wang not allow it?”

Chu Zhitian smiled bitterly and nodded.

The family already had one person going to the battlefield, if there were two, the mother wouldn’t be able to bear it, wouldn’t agree no matter what.

Moreover, if I were really to join the army, I would receive care and help in every aspect, how could I make any progress there?

One must go through hardships as my father did back then, to achieve something remarkable.

As they talked, Chu Zhichuan continued to practice with his eyes closed, one Princely Heir and prince after another arrived.

Chu Zhiyuan greeted each one.

”Eleventh Brother” ”Thirteenth Brother” ”Eighteenth Brother” ”Eighteenth Uncle” ”Nineteenth Uncle” ”Twentieth Uncle”

Everyone responded in turn.

Chu Zhiyuan seemed not to notice their reluctance and awkwardness, knowing they would become accustomed to it after two or three more days.

...

After Chu Qingfeng arrived, Chu Zhiyuan returned to the west side chamber to read, browsing through various Secret Martial Arts Manuals, Martial Arts Notes, and Martial Arts Theory.

Among the books were many martial arts notes from the Grandmaster Mansion and Great Grandmaster Mansion.

With these martial arts notes, Grandmasters and Great Grandmasters could exchange them for merits.

These martial arts notes did not involve any specific mental method, but were general, including understanding of the heavens and earth, understanding of martial arts, understanding of worldly affairs, and understanding of the human body, which deeply moved him.

This world’s understanding of martial arts and the world was exceedingly deep yet subtle.

Just like the Hundred Schools of Thought Contend during the Warring States Period of the previous life, and just like science of the previous world.

The ability to innovate and renew on the basis of the previous generation, accumulating generation after generation, one could imagine how brilliant and glorious it was.

After reading these notes, his understanding significantly advanced.

An immediate feeling of enlightenment came to him.

He suddenly understood why the princes and princely heirs of Mingwu Hall entered the palace so early, practicing before sunrise.

It was because of Lesser Purple Sun Technique, Innate Skill Great Purple Sun Technique, and Grandmaster Technique Purple Sun Scripture.

Experiencing the Purple Sun Realm.

To observe the purple sun every morning, imprinting it into one’s mind and soul.

Grandmaster enters the heart, Great Grandmaster enters divinity.

This Purple Sun Realm is both the gateway to becoming a Grandmaster and the mental realm pursued by Great Grandmasters.

When he read too much and became dizzy with a headache, he would perform the Heavenly Yuan Technique.

Streams of cool energy descended from the heavens, entering through the Bai Hui acupoint.

The brain felt as if immersed in a cold spring, refreshing and cool, resulting in a clear mind, agile thoughts, with sparks of inspiration frequently occurring.

The Heavenly Yuan Technique and Earth Origin Technique demand extremely high aptitude, it is difficult to find someone in the world who matches the talent.

The fundamental of cultivation is sensing the existence of primordial energy and harnessing it.

Unable to sense primordial energy, it is like searching for a needle in a haystack, no matter how much one trains, it is futile; sensing primordial energy is like reaching into a bag for an item, training immediately bears fruit.

As the world’s primordial energy changes, no one could cultivate the techniques of the Taiqing Primordial Sect anymore, eventually turning into vestiges of history.

Because of Super Sense, practicing the Heavenly Yuan Technique and Earth Origin Technique was as easy as drinking water for him, one practice and it was achieved, once achieved, thoroughly mastered, within a night’s effort it was all mastered.

For him, the Heavenly Yuan Technique and Earth Origin Technique were countless times easier than the Lesser Purple Sun Technique.

Standing with hands behind his back by the Martial Arts Training Ground, Chu Qingfeng suddenly turned his head to look toward the west side chamber, gazing at the sky with a thoughtful expression.

The Eighteenth Prince, Chu Mingxuan, noticed his unusual behavior, widened his fat face, and chuckled, ”Thirteenth Uncle, is he, Old Fourth, hiding inside reading all day without practicing?”

”Mind your own business!”

”Thirteenth Uncle, it’s been a while since we had a match, shall we have one? Constantly practicing is too dull.”

”You just want to make fun of Old Fourth, don’t you?”

”Thirteenth Uncle, you’ve wronged me! I just want to open my eyes and see how powerful Old Fourth is.”

Just how strong could the Old Fourth be for Thirteenth Uncle to give him special attention?

Hopefully not just a mere show of form?

”If you put the same effort into practicing, you would have achieved the Innate Realm long ago!”

”Heh heh, Thirteenth Uncle, it’s been almost two months since we last sparred, everyone’s finding practice dull.”

The Mingwu Hall holds a match every two months, just to stimulate enthusiasm for training.

”Are you putting up a prize?”

”No problem, I’ll put it up, I will!”

”I heard you acquired a Treasure Sword recently.”

”Dug out from a cave mansion in my fief, let’s use it as the prize then.”

Chu Qingfeng shook his head: ”To see a spectacle, you’re really going all out!”

He had heard of this news, it wasn’t an ordinary sword, its origins were mysterious, certainly not a common item.

If it weren’t in his fief, it probably would have already stirred up a bloody storm.

Such a Treasure Sword being used as a prize speaks of how bored Old Eighteen is.

Chu Mingxuan nonchalantly replied: ”If Old Fourth really wins, it would serve as a welcome gift for him, I, as his Imperial Uncle, cannot be stingy.”
