Chapter 83: Chapter 61: Speculation 2

”Mr. Lin, let’s schedule another meeting next time. I’ll arrange for my sister to come out alone, hahaha.”

Ren Qingfeng turned his head and said with a mischievous smile to Lin Zheyu, leaving Lin Zheyu at a loss between a laugh and a cry.

”Yuxiang, it’s Mr. Lin’s first visit to Funing Garden. You should take him for a tour.”

Sending away Ren Qingfeng, Xu Qin Yi said to create an opportunity for Lin Zheyu and Xu Yuxiang to spend time together.

”Yes, cousin.”

Xu Yuxiang replied somewhat reluctantly. She stood up and looked at Lin Zheyu saying, ”Let’s go, I’ll show you around.”

Lin Zheyu had no objections and strolled beside Xu Yuxiang in Funing Garden.

”Mr. Xu, I feel these two don’t have a chance.”

After the two of them left, Chen Xihong finally spoke, having watched the scene from the sidelines.

”Alas, I also think they don’t have a chance. If Yujun hadn’t married yet, her temperament would be much more suitable.”

Xu Qin Yi sighed and replied.

”Let’s drink, let’s drink. It’s up to them and their own fate now.”

Chen Xihong said with a smile.

...

With Xu Yuxiang, they strolled through Funing Garden. The scenery was quite good, and each courtyard was meticulously decorated, each possessing its unique beauty.

Xu Yuxiang walked ahead with a blank expression the entire time, while Lin Zheyu didn’t mind at all, treating it like a solitary wander.

Eventually, Xu Yuxiang finally spoke up.

”I’m not interested in you, so give up.” Xu Yuxiang said.

”What a coincidence, neither am I.” Lin Zheyu replied with a smile.

”Hmph, that’s for the best!”

Xu Yuxiang snorted coldly and seemed even more unhappy.

The two strolled around for about an hour before returning to the pavilion.

Seeing Xu Yuxiang’s cold face, Xu Qin Yi couldn’t help but sigh, thinking he would have to talk to his fifth uncle about controlling her temper.

When returning home, the sky was a bit gray.

The roads were filled with sounds of firecrackers, children chased and played around, full of excitement.

As usual, Lin Zheyu practiced martial arts for over an hour, then fully operated the Turtle Breath Skill to enter a deep sleep.

Morning

Waking from a deep sleep.

The Turtle Breath Skill is indeed magical; after fully operating it, Lin Zheyu felt like entering an animal’s hibernation state.

His metabolism and heartbeat reduced to extremely weak levels, and his spirit entered deep sleep.

The quality of sleep in this state was particularly good.

Lin Zheyu stretched, coming out from the concealed space in the kitchen’s wood pile.

In deep sleep, his sensory response to the outside world became diminished.

To be safe, he returned here to sleep at night.

He got up, simply cleaned himself up, and began exercising in the courtyard.

After several days of rest, his Essence, Qi, and Spirit returned to peak level, and he could break through his limits again.

The courtyard was filled with the aroma of Blood-Nourishing and Bone-Strengthening Soup.

Lin Zheyu sweat like rain.

He exercised continuously for more than an hour, his face turning pale as he was nearing his limit.

After another half-hour, he once again experienced his Essence, Qi, and Spirit twisting together as if ready to transcend.

”Whew...”

Long exhalation of turbid gas.

”Hmm, this time two units of Source Power were gained.”

Lin Zheyu looked at the data in his consciousness, somewhat surprised.

This time, Source Power increased by two units.

[Heavenly Dao Rewards the Diligent]

Name: Lin Zheyu

Source Power: 2

Skills:

Wild Bull Fist (Perfection)

Golden Swan Skill (Fourth Layer 67%)

Turtle Breath Skill (Third Layer 1%)

Six Harmonies Blade (Mastery 88%)

”Four breakthroughs beyond the limit, the first three times increased by 1 unit each, the fourth increased by two units of Source Power.”

”That means, on average, each time increased by 1.25 units of Source Power.”

Lin Zheyu computed, figuring out approximately how much Source Power he obtained each time he broke through his limits.

But this is only for now; as his strength grows, the Source Power he receives after breaking through will continue to increase.

It’s estimated that when his strength reaches Qi Blood Three Transformations or even Four Transformations, every limit breakthrough will yield two units of Source Power.

Lin Zheyu speculated that the strength of Essence, Qi, and Spirit during a breakthrough is related to the amount of Source Power gained.

There was one time he exhausted himself trying to break through, but got no Source Power; this was due to his Essence, Qi, and Spirit being too weak, resulting in less than 1 unit of Source Power.

And less than 1 unit doesn’t show up.

Lin Zheyu lay on the ground, gasping for breath, unwilling to move.

After breaking through the limit, the body became incredibly weak and fatigued.

As he stared at the sky, his thoughts drifted.

”What exactly is Source Power? Why does breaking through the body’s limits grant Source Power?”

”Is it truly the energy transformed from Essence, Qi, and Spirit?”

Lin Zheyu pondered, frequently contemplating this question.

He couldn’t quite believe that Essence, Qi, and Spirit, when unified, could birth such a magical high-level energy as Source Power.

”Could it be that some mysterious thing is hidden within me, storing Source Power?”

”And each time I break the limit, as Essence, Qi, and Spirit align and enter that state like spiritual transcendence, my mind can unlock whatever that is and gain the Source Power within?”

Lin Zheyu indulged in fanciful thoughts for a while until some energy returned to his body.

Laboriously, he sat up and walked inside, taking out three more batches of Blood-Nourishing and Bone-Strengthening Soup ingredients.

Using Source Power to enhance Golden Swan Skill requires the energy from three batches of Blood-Nourishing and Bone-Strengthening Soup per unit of Source Power.

Now with two units gained, he would need six batches worth.

Initially, he thought that like always, breaking limits only increased one unit of Source Power, so he had only prepared three batches of the soup.

”Two units of Source Power, enough to advance Golden Swan Skill to the Fifth Layer,” Lin Zheyu mused.
