Immortal Sword Master

Chapter 239: Chapter 236: The Twin Sword Sons’ Strength

”As expected of Jian Xinghe. His title as the number one of Qing Province’s younger generation isn’t just for show.”

No one was particularly surprised by Liu Bingxue’s defeat. If Jian Xinghe had been the one to lose, *that* would have been unbelievable.

”That sword strike he used to defeat Liu Bingxue... what in the world was that? I couldn’t even see it clearly,” a powerhouse at the Primordial Spirit Fourth Stage Realm said with a frown.

”The power of that sword strike was likely no weaker than the blow Ning Jiang used to defeat Yuwen Chi.”

Their battle sparked a great deal of heated discussion among the onlookers.

The main topic of discussion was, naturally, Jian Xinghe’s strength, as no one knew just how much of his true power he had revealed in his battle with Liu Bingxue.

”The third match: the Twin Sword Sons versus Li Kuangba,” Ge Changming announced.

Of the six contestants, four had already fought, leaving only the Twin Sword Sons and Li Kuangba. Thus, there was no need to draw lots for this match.

On the stage, the Twin Sword Sons stood to the left and right. Opposite them, Li Kuangba was lean and a head shorter than the twins, yet his entire body pulsed with explosive power. With every breath, he gave off the impression of a primeval, ferocious beast.

”Individually, one of the Twin Sword Sons might not be stronger than Li Kuangba. But they cultivate the Dissimilar Body Unity Technique. Once they join forces, their combined strength is far greater than the sum of its parts.”

The Twin Sword Sons were a fearsome pair of twins.

If not for Jian Xinghe looming over them, the title of number one among Qing Province’s younger generation might have belonged to them.

After all, in the Ten-Mile Sword Intent zone, they were the only two who had reached the eight-mile mark. The other young titans had only made it to about seven and a half miles.

”Twin Sword Sons! At the last Qing Province Assembly, I lost to you by a single move. This year, I’m taking it back!”

Li Kuangba spoke slowly and deliberately, his voice tremendously loud. Each syllable landed like a massive boulder crashing to the ground, shaking the very air.

”You’re dreaming. The outcome of this year’s Qing Province Assembly will be no different,” the Twin Sword Sons replied, brimming with confidence.

”Then let’s fight.”

Li Kuangba stomped his foot on the stage, making the entire platform tremble violently. The bones and sinews throughout his body cracked and popped like rolling thunder.

ROAR!

Following a heaven-shaking roar, the projection of a Giant Elephant materialized above his head. It tilted its head back and bellowed as its Blood Qi flared like a rainbow, soaring dozens of yards into the air.

SHREEE.

The air tore as, in the wake of his stomp, he shot forward like a comet, moving with incredible speed.

The violent force of his punch rushed forward, enveloping the entire stage with enough power to send a massive boulder flying.

The might of this single punch carried the overwhelming power to annihilate everything in its path.

”Star Pointing Sword Technique, First Kill.”

With a flick of their fingers, the Twin Sword Sons sent a streak of Sword Aura shooting toward Li Kuangba, flashing like starlight.

”To think they’d start with the strongest moves from the Star Pointing Sword Technique right off the bat.”

The Star Pointing Sword Technique was a complete Sword Technique, and its most powerful moves were known as the Star Pointing Seven Kill Sword.

As the name implied, the Star Pointing Seven Kill Sword consisted of seven strikes, each one more devastating than the last.

The power of the Second Kill was double that of the First, the Third Kill’s was double the Second, and so on. By the time they reached the Fifth Kill, it was powerful enough to slay a young titan of the same rank.

”During the last Qing Province Assembly, the Twin Sword Sons had only mastered up to the Fifth Kill. Relying on that, they took second place, second only to Jian Xinghe. I wonder how many of the kills they’ve mastered this time?”

The surrounding crowd buzzed with discussion, certain that the Twin Sword Sons were now far stronger than they had been in the past.

”BREAK!”

With utter ferocity, Li Kuangba threw a punch.

BANG.

The First Kill was shattered, but the Twin Sword Sons remained unflustered, striking out once more.

”Second Kill!”

SHING.

As starlight flashed before his eyes, Li Kuangba felt a wave of cold, merciless Sword Qi rush toward his face, and his heart clenched.

”Elephant King’s Roar.”

Li Kuangba’s momentum remained overwhelmingly powerful as he unleashed a tyrannical Fist Technique.

The Second Kill, too, failed to stop Li Kuangba.

The Third and Fourth Kills followed in quick succession.

The power of each Kill was double the last. By the time the Fourth Kill was unleashed, newly-risen young titans like Gao Yun and Meng Ji felt a chill crawl up their spines, their scalps tingling so intensely it felt like their heads might explode.

Such devastating Swordsmanship would be enough to kill them in a single strike.

’After I get back, I have to improve my strength. I’ll challenge them again at the next Qing Province Assembly!’ Several of them thought, secretly clenching their fists.

”Not bad, Li Kuangba. Your strength has improved quite a bit. Last time, you fell to the Fifth Kill. Let’s see if you can withstand it this time.”

The Twin Sword Sons exchanged a look and struck simultaneously.

SHING!

Two streaks of sword light shot down like falling stars, dazzling in their brilliance.

The name of this move was Meteor.

”Hmph. Let me show you the progress I’ve made in the past year.”

Li Kuangba took a deep breath, seemingly drawing in all the air in the vicinity. His chest swelled, and a moment later, with a long roar, he moved with his fist, unleashing a world-shaking punch.

BOOM!

The air detonated, sending out ripples visible to the naked eye, as if a great mountain had been cast into a lake.

”Eight Desolates Fierce Elephant Fist.”

In that moment, Li Kuangba seemed to have transformed into a War Elephant from Ancient Times; he was no longer human.

BANG.

Savage shockwaves radiated in all directions. On both banks of the Celestial Sword Grand Canyon, some Martial Artists were unable to withstand the gale and were nearly blown away.

”He blocked the Fifth Kill!”

Cries of astonishment rang out one after another. That seemingly unstoppable sword strike had been blocked by Li Kuangba.

”Well done, Li Kuangba. You haven’t disappointed us. But it’s a shame for you that while you were improving, so were we.”

The Twin Sword Sons roared with laughter before announcing, ”Sixth Kill, All Stars!”

In an instant, the Twin Sword Sons’ arms blurred, thrusting out dozens, even hundreds, of times.

Each thrust contained immense piercing power, blossoming with dazzling starlight.

This move, All Stars, was like a meteor shower raining down, blanketing the entire space and making it impossible to evade.

The power of the Sixth Kill was yet again double that of the Fifth.

”KILL.”

Li Kuangba roared, his hair flying wildly as he swung his fists to block the descending starlight.

”Li Kuangba is being overwhelmed.”

”It seems the Twin Sword Sons are a cut above after all.”

The moment they unleashed All Stars, Li Kuangba was immediately forced onto the back foot. No matter how he swung his fists, it was useless.

Ultimately, he spat out a mouthful of blood as the All Stars attack blasted him off the stage.

”That All Stars move is terrifying. I just wonder if the Twin Sword Sons have managed to master the final Seventh Kill.”

”Probably not, right? If they’d mastered that move, wouldn’t they be strong enough to threaten even Jian Xinghe?” The crowd exclaimed in constant amazement.

”The Twin Sword Sons are the victors of this battle. We will rest for one hour, after which the ranking matches will continue,” Ge Changming announced clearly.

The six great young titans had all expended varying amounts of energy in their fights, and some were even injured.

To ensure fairness in the subsequent matches, they needed time to recover and treat their wounds.

Fortunately, the various major Sects had come prepared with their best Healing Elixirs for this Qing Province Assembly. Furthermore, experts at the Primordial Spirit Fourth Tribulation Realm were on hand to help the contestants recover.

With such support, recovering from their injuries was not a difficult task.

One hour later, the contestants had recovered from their injuries.

”Alright. The fourth match will also be decided by drawing lots,” said Ge Changming.

”I wonder who will be in the fourth match?” All eyes turned to Ge Changming in anticipation.

Under the crowd’s expectant gaze, Ge Changming produced two Jade Tokens and announced the names written on them. ”The fourth match: Ning Jiang versus Li Kuangba.”

”This should be interesting. I wonder if Li Kuangba can force Ning Jiang to use the same move that defeated Yuwen Chi?” a new wave of discussion immediately erupted from the crowd.
