Homo Sapiens

”Chairman, we’ve detected several new mutant strains at some ports and airports. All of these new strains have developed a resistance to Lanf Anning.”

Li Qingye raised an eyebrow, though this development was actually within his expectations.

After all, Lanf Anning is an antibiotic. Once it’s widely overused, the development of drug resistance is practically a foregone conclusion.

”Then arrange for the launch and sale of Lanf Anning Gen 3.”

”There’s another issue. The circulation of Jin Yuan internationally has recently decreased. Many regions don’t have enough Jin Yuan to purchase our new drug.”

Li Qingye turned his head and instructed Sangjibada Laiyal, ”Contact Wang Xin Ya from the finance department later. I need to know the current financial situation.”

”Yes, sir.”

A moment later, Tian Hemeng went offline.

Then, Wang Xin Ya from the finance department came online.

Hearing Li Qingye’s question, Wang Xin Ya, who was also troubled by the issue, quickly explained:

”Chairman, because various countries previously exchanged their Jin Yuan reserves for Gold, apart from Persia, which has 57.7 billion in Jin Yuan reserves, all other countries combined have less than 3 billion Jin Yuan.”

”I seem to recall that Saudia Arabia acquired a batch of Jin Yuan using its oil and natural gas, didn’t they?”

Wang Xin Ya nodded. ”Yes, the new contract is for 22 billion Jin Yuan. In addition, other oil-producing countries are all in negotiations with us, hoping to exchange oil for Jin Yuan.”

”And America would agree to let them do that?”

Wang Xin Ya smiled and shook her head. ”People will do anything for a profit. They aren’t cooperating with us directly, but are using offshore companies as a front.”

Hearing this, Li Qingye immediately understood.

Most of Homo Sapiens Company’s products are food, new pharmaceuticals, and high-value-added tech products.

Even if these countries can’t absorb the vast production capacity themselves, they can still engage in re-export trade.

Persia, for example, uses this method to transport new drugs, natural gas vehicles, and electronics produced by Homo Sapiens Company to the Central Asia Region.

Similarly, Saudia Arabia likely has similar plans.

After all, even after Europe and America completely banned the import of Homo Sapiens Company products, their demand for them hasn’t actually decreased.

Saudia Arabia saw this business opportunity and is preparing to develop medical tourism.

As for the pressure from America, Saudia Arabia can still withstand it for now. After the Fifth Fleet was previously crippled, its main warships returned to the North American mainland for repairs.

The US forces currently stationed in the Persian Gulf consist of half of the Seventh Fleet, along with recommissioned old warships that were previously mothballed.

Seeing America so easily defeated by Homo Sapiens Company, the various powers in West Asia have also become restless, secretly making their own moves.

These are the consequences of a hegemon’s decline.

America’s military might is the very foundation of its global hegemony.

Once problems appear in America’s military capabilities, a backlash is sure to follow.

The powers in West Asia dare to feign compliance with America while secretly defying it because they are certain that America is in no position to use military force in the near future.

Moreover, Homo Sapiens Company’s Ceylon Ocean Escort Fleet also frequently appears in the Persian Gulf. If America dares to strike against the powers in West Asia, Homo Sapiens Company will certainly support certain factions in secret, dragging the US military into a quagmire.

After all, the entire world now knows that Homo Sapiens Company was pulling the strings behind the situation in Assam.

The conflict between Tianzhu and Assam has greatly hindered Tianzhu’s development in other areas.

After conducting a strategic analysis, the Pentagon concluded that if it were to use military force in West Asia, the probability of Homo Sapiens Company intervening would be extremely high.

This has given the various powers in West Asia the opportunity to play both sides.

...

A hint of ruthlessness appeared in Li Qingye’s eyes. ”If it’s just this, it’s not enough. We need to take the initiative.”

”Take the initiative?” Wang Xin Ya was taken aback.

”I’ll make the arrangements for that. You just be ready. By the way, what are the company’s current Gold reserves?”

Wang Xin Ya recalled for a moment. ”The Gold from all our fully-owned subsidiary branches adds up to about 1,273 tons. We’ve currently issued a total of 2.83 trillion Jin Yuan, which is slightly more than four times the issuance limit backed by physical Gold.”

After thinking for a moment, Wang Xin Ya added, ”Actually, the Jin Yuan circulating internally is primarily for employee salaries, so it doesn’t need to be backed by Gold.”

Li Qingye was, of course, well aware of this.

After all, employee salaries ultimately return to the company’s hands through consumption. This portion of the Jin Yuan is effectively tied to Homo Sapiens Company’s means of production.

”What are the numbers on employee salaries?”

Wang Xin Ya pulled up some data. ”Currently, the median monthly income for company employees is 3,224 Jin Yuan. We pay out 1.24 trillion in salaries each month. About 700 billion is recouped through monthly consumption, while the remaining 500-plus billion is saved by employees.”

Li Qingye shook his head. ”We need to do more to guide consumption. What’s the point of them hoarding so much in savings?”

”We’re already strengthening our efforts in this area, such as by encouraging employees to increase their spending on cars, electronics, medical aesthetics, and cultural entertainment.”

Inside Homo Sapiens Company, there’s actually not much need for savings. After all, the company provides comprehensive coverage for many basic services.

As a result, Homo Sapiens Company employees are among the groups with the highest consumption levels across all global economies.

The purchasing power of the Jin Yuan within Homo Sapiens Company is extremely strong. Calculated by local purchasing power, one Jin Yuan is equivalent to about 1.7 to 2.1 Euros.

In the European Union, even in a high-income region like Germany, the median monthly income is only 2,500 Euros (after taxes).

This is a testament to the power of Homo Sapiens Company.

In terms of comprehensive strength, Homo Sapiens Company is stronger than the European Union, because Europe cannot be self-sufficient in energy and minerals.

Homo Sapiens Company, however, is self-sufficient in energy, minerals, food, fertilizer, daily necessities, and high-tech products.

Due to the recent impact of the war in Kyiv, energy import prices for the EU have soared, and the European Union is being fleeced by America.

Similarly, energy import prices in the East Asia Region have also soared.

Although the Malacca Strait has reopened to traffic, and the more convenient Kra Canal is also available,

the problem now is that Homo Sapiens Company only accepts Jin Yuan. This forces the countries of East Asia to swallow this bitter pill.

What’s more troublesome is the high degree of overlap between the industrial chains of Homo Sapiens Company and the East Asia Region.

From semiconductors and electronics to the shipbuilding industry.

From daily necessities to steel and non-ferrous metals.

From automobiles and machinery to fertilizers and chemicals.

The two sides overlap almost completely.

This means that the East Asia Region cannot obtain Jin Yuan by selling its products to Homo Sapiens Company.

The few industries that can earn Jin Yuan are limited to filmmaking and cultural entertainment.

East Japan’s adult films and anime, South Korea’s manhwa and girl groups, and Huaguo’s web novels have unexpectedly become the core industries for the East Asia Region to acquire Jin Yuan.

After all, piracy doesn’t exist within Homo Sapiens Company, so when it comes to paying for cultural and entertainment products, employees can only go through official channels.

With a total of 620 million employees, Homo Sapiens Company’s spending on cultural and entertainment products is extremely high.

Although the prices set by Homo Sapiens Company are very low, the host of East Asian cultural and entertainment companies are more than happy to accept them.

For movie ticket prices, for example, Homo Sapiens Company charges employees 5 Jin Yuan per ticket, and the film company receives a 2 Jin Yuan share.

A good movie can often sell over a hundred million tickets within Homo Sapiens Company.

One must understand that the Jin Yuan is a true hard currency at this time. In terms of actual purchasing power, the exchange rate between the Jin Yuan and the Huaguo Yuan is about 1 to 15.

Thus, cultural and entertainment products from the East Asia Region have unexpectedly become a rare category of products that can sell well within Homo Sapiens Company.

Of course, Homo Sapiens Company is also developing its own cultural and entertainment industry very quickly, and competition in these sectors will only become more intense in the future.
