Homo Sapiens

Li Qingye then turned to Du Chengken, the other Deputy Director of the Security Department who had come with Chen Jianxiong.

This man was not ethnically Chinese, but a member of the Luzon Duterte Clan.

Within Homo Sapiens Company, the New Human employees usually had Chinese names.

After all, Li Qingye was ethnically Chinese, so his subordinates would inevitably find ways to get closer to him. Adopting a Chinese name was a subtle gesture to build rapport.

Li Qingye never said anything about it. It was only human nature.

Du Chengken was mainly responsible for commercial intelligence in the Latin America Region.

To adapt to its global operations, the Security Department had established several major regions. Currently, they were:

The Headquarter District, which included Southeast Asia, Oceania, and the Western Pacific Islands;

The Latin America Region, which included South America and Central America;

Followed by the East Asian Zone, the North American Region, the European Region, the Lucia and Central Asia Region, the South Asia Region, the West Asia and North Africa Region, and the Black Africa Region.

In total, there were nine major regions. Chen Jianxiong personally oversaw the headquarters, while Du Chengken was responsible for the Latin America Region.

Du Chengken began his report respectfully, ”Boss, since the beginning of the year, we’ve launched over a thousand operations in Latin America. We’ve successfully destroyed 62 of Black Ship’s secret intelligence outposts and 41 groups supported by Black Ship.”

”We’ve eliminated 7,362 enemies and secretly turned 755 members of Black Ship or its Converts. Currently, Black Ship’s influence in Central and South America has been severely weakened.”

Li Qingye gently tapped his fingers on the tabletop, resting with his eyes closed for a moment before opening them. ”The objectives of the Magnet Plan have been more or less achieved, but it’s not enough.”

Chen Jianxiong thought for a moment. ”Although the Southeast Asian Black Ship hasn’t recovered quickly, it has certainly become much more active recently. That Joshua plans to stir up hostility and conflict within Southeast Asia.”

”How is the research on Black Ship’s internal mechanisms coming along?” Li Qingye asked suddenly.

”We’re still not very clear about their headquarters in North America, but we have a basic grasp of the Southeast Asian Black Ship’s situation,” Chen Jianxiong replied quickly.

Li Qingye’s lips curved into a slight smile. ”That Victor has returned to North America?”

”Yes,” Chen Jianxiong nodded.

Hearing this, Li Qingye’s smile grew wider. ”In Latin America, the Magnet Plan’s effectiveness has reached its limit. In that case, let’s initiate the Squid Plan!”

The expressions on Chen Jianxiong and Du Chengken’s faces shifted slightly. Of course, they knew what the Squid Plan was—a plan that went a step further than the Magnet Plan.

”Yes, sir. I’ll make the arrangements immediately,” Du Chengken said with a very serious expression.

Li Qingye looked at Chen Jianxiong. ”Jianxiong, once the Squid Plan begins, find an opportunity to lure Joshua out. We need his compliant cooperation.”

”Understood.” Chen Jianxiong already knew what to do.

For a mentally resolute agent like Joshua, simply implanting a bio-chip carried a risk period in the initial stage. Therefore, the only option was to convert him into a customized Soldier.

Fortunately, after extensive experiments and improvements, the genetic modification time for Soldier conversion had been reduced to about 42 hours.

The Security Department had also collected enough data. After all, Joshua had been under 24/7 surveillance ever since he joined the Southeast Asian Black Ship. Simulating his behavior for a few days to fool the Black Ship Headquarters was still feasible.

In addition, about 7% of the current members of the Southeast Asian Black Ship were moles from the Security Department, and several of them had already become mid-level members in that Black Ship branch.

As long as they could lure Joshua into a prepared trap, they could essentially catch them all in one net.

Afterward, Li Qingye summoned the intelligence chiefs from the other major regions one by one.

Currently, in Homo Sapiens Company’s global deployment, aside from the Latin America Region openly stirring up trouble to attract America’s attention, the intelligence systems in the other major regions were all operating covertly.

Besides cultivating proxies, developing informants, and gathering intelligence, they rarely engaged in direct confrontation with intelligence forces like Black Ship, Torch Fire, or the Cossacks.

This was also the consistent style of Li Qingye and Homo Sapiens Company: either maintain deep silence or erupt suddenly to deliver a fatal blow to their opponents.

But this time, Li Qingye had summoned Chen Jianxiong and the others for another matter: to restructure the Security Department.

To be precise, it was to adjust the work and functions of the Security Department.

After the reorganization, the Security Department would be split in two.

The part specializing in intelligence work would be reorganized into the Foreign Affairs Division, still under Chen Jianxiong’s charge.

Meanwhile, its internal armed forces, along with the security forces separated from the Internal Services Division, would form the new Internal Security Division and External Security Division.

Currently, the core divisions of Homo Sapiens Company were: the Internal Affairs Division, the Internal Services Division, the Internal Security Division, the Foreign Affairs Division, the External Security Division, the Human Resources Department, the Supervision Department, the Finance Department, the Science Division, the Engineering Division, the Military Industry Division, and the Asset Management Department.

In addition to these, there were the Blood Blade Special Team, the Scientific Assistance Office, and the Strategic Analysis Office, all of which reported directly to Li Qingye.

As Homo Sapiens Company had not yet fully revealed its strength, many of its departments did not have official public-facing names or headquarters.

For example, the Internal Affairs Division was actually the department that managed all industries—including Homo Sapiens Company itself, as well as its subsidiaries like Qingye Group and the Development Group. Its director was Homo Sapiens Company’s General Manager, Fang Xincheng.

However, because Homo Sapiens Company could not openly reveal its relationship with its other branches, this division actually operated in secret.

This internal restructuring was intended to further streamline its internal operations.

At the same time, the powers and responsibilities of the various regional Governors and Deputy Governors were redefined, and their titles were changed to General Manager and Deputy General Manager.

Currently, the General Manager of the Luzon Branch was Gafei Fernando, with Zhang Jerry and Xu Yingming as Deputy General Managers.

The General Manager of the Hongsawaddy Branch was Wu Yebao, with Liu Zhifan and Mao Gu as Deputy General Managers.

The General Manager of the Siam Branch was Qiu Yingle, with Bawei and Wunan as Deputy General Managers.

The General Manager of the Malaysia Branch was Long Yuanzhi, with Kaima Orpheus and Bao Ting as Deputy General Managers. The team in Malaysia was rather unique; they did not have public-facing identities and instead used a covert, indirect management approach.

In fact, this method of managing the Malaysia Branch was the model Homo Sapiens Company would more commonly use in the future.

After all, the situation in Southeast Asia had become somewhat conspicuous over the past few years. If they continued with the ”brute-force advancement” method used in Hongsawaddy and Siam, America and the other major powers would surely notice something was wrong.

Therefore, by using covert remote control, followed by a sudden transformation and rapid consolidation, they wouldn’t have to worry about exposure. After all, by then, Homo Sapiens Company could make its public debut.

Li Qingye set aside more than a week to complete the internal restructuring and adjustments with his management team.

After this restructuring and adjustment, the efficiency of the internal operating system was restored to its initial high level.

This was something few social operating systems could achieve.

The gap between New Humans and natural humans was particularly evident in this regard.

Li Qingye had a group of absolutely loyal Soldiers and New Human subordinates; he had no need to worry about them resisting or making petty moves behind his back.

In other operating systems, once the system program is designed, the various running codes become increasingly bloated and inefficient over time.

Even if a programmer wanted to modify and optimize it, they would face all sorts of problems.

For instance: would the administrators of various subroutines grant permission? Would they secretly insert malicious code? Would they intentionally fail to report operational issues? Or would the cost of replacing hardware be too high, leaving the system without sufficient funds for procurement?

But Homo Sapiens Company didn’t have these problems. Li Qingye didn’t need to compromise with any subroutine administrators or their code.

If he wanted to modify the company’s operating procedures, it was a simple matter of giving the word.
