His Acting Was So Good As a Ruthless Criminal, Drawing the Attention of Police Officers Across the Internet

162: Wang Feng: Filming with Lin Pei was too grueling.[Alright, the new skill the system has refreshed for the host is—Hua Tuo Reincarnated.]

[The host will obtain Traditional Chinese Medicine skills superior to even Hua Tuo’s, mastering everything from Observation, Listening, Questioning, and Pulse-taking to acupuncture, scraping, massage, cupping, herbal medicine, diet therapy, and Health-preserving Qigong.]

Lin Pei’s brows furrowed.

After waiting in anticipation for so long, it turned out to be an ”Old Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor” skill.

Speaking of which, it was indeed positive energy, but he wasn’t going to sit in a clinic or treat patients. What was the use of having such a skill?

Well, another skill to gather dust.

So Lin Pei sighed and lay back down.

A voice in his mind reminded him: Staying up late consumes vital essence; hurry up and sleep.

Soon, he closed his eyes and went back to sleep... The next day, ”God of Gamblers” officially began filming.

Lin Pei went down to the Film Crew early in the morning, and after a while, everyone slowly arrived.

Facing his pale-faced companions, he couldn’t help but advise them one by one.

”Second Brother, stay up late less, or watch out for premature aging and white hair.”

”Wah Zai, watching too much of certain things drains your vital essence, and your face will become ugly because of it.”

”Monk, if you smoke any more, I’ll be able to set up a tombstone for you the year after next.”

”...”

After talking for a while, Lin Pei’s mouth felt a bit dry, and he felt somewhat helpless.

With the ”Old Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor” skill just added to him, he really couldn’t control himself from checking if people were sick and then advising them on health preservation.

Heaven knows he only started his own health preservation today... Truly worthy of being an ”Old Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor”; he even found himself nagging and reckoned that his aura made him look at least twenty years older.

How annoying.

However, the eyes of those he spoke to widened.

Stephen Chow hissed, ”Big Brother, you’re too divine! I really have started growing white hair lately!”

Lau Tak Wah said, ”Uh, I only watched those resources a little bit. So they really do affect my face? I was wondering why my nose felt like it was getting bigger lately...”

Monk said, ”Master, don’t scare me. How about I quit smoking?”

...Not far away, The Director was silently drinking tea at a table.

When Lin Pei looked over, he saw something was wrong.

”Director, I see that your Liver Fire seems to be a bit strong.”

”I suggest you put a couple of chrysanthemum flowers in that tea; it can lower Liver Fire.”

The Director sighed.

”Hmph, it’s indeed infuriating.”

”The actor playing the second villain, the gambler, won some money at the casino and now he’s actually going on strike.”

”He says he’s going to apprentice and properly study the art of gambling. By the way, the person he wants to apprentice under is exactly your Master, Lau Chin.”

”Tell me, he says he’s not acting anymore at a time like this. Where am I supposed to find someone on such short notice?”

Lin Pei was very surprised.

Not because someone went on strike, but because this person wanted to go to Lau Chin to learn.

He clearly looked stronger than Lau Chin, right?

Wouldn’t it be closer and faster to come to him to learn? It wouldn’t even delay the filming.

That person’s brain is really something else!

While looking for actors online, The Director kept shaking his head.

After a while, he asked Lin Pei.

”Brother Lin, do you have any recommended actors for this role?”

”There’s strength in numbers; let’s all think together.”

In an instant, a flash of inspiration struck Lin Pei’s mind.

”Director, I do have a candidate in mind. I think he’s very suitable for this villainous role.”

”It’s basically playing himself, but he’s not a professional actor, so I don’t know if he can act well.”

Joy appeared in The Director’s eyes.

”Who?”

...A moment later, Lin Pei went out and dragged back Wang Feng, who had been crying on the street all night.

When he and Wang Feng had gambled at the casino, Wang Feng’s various reactions could be said to be very consistent with the villain’s persona in their script.

Since they couldn’t find an actor, he felt that letting Wang Feng come and play himself shouldn’t be a problem.

Although Wang Feng seemed to have a long-standing grudge against him and he didn’t like the man much, for the sake of the movie’s smooth filming, these were not worth mentioning.

When The Director saw Wang Feng, he was indeed very satisfied.

”Good, good.”

”If Brother Lin has the clear aura of a God of Gamblers, then Heavenly King Wang, your aura as a gambler is also impossible to hide.”

”This fits the role in my movie perfectly.”

Wang Feng blinked his red, swollen, and dry eyes, thinking that what The Director said seemed to make sense, but why did he feel a bit uncomfortable in his heart?

Lin Pei’s aura was like a God of Gamblers, but why did it become a gambler when it came to him?

However, whether in movies or in reality, there could only be one character like the God of Gamblers.

In a casino, besides the God of Gamblers, weren’t they all gamblers? There was nothing wrong with that.

The Director made an immediate decision.

”alright，If you agree，We don’t need to audition anymore.，Sign directly.”

Wang Feng nodded.

”I agree, Director.”

He was bankrupt now and needed money to repay debts. In the gap before his concert, there was nothing bad about having a job with a Film Crew to earn some acting fees.

Besides, with such bad news out, it was uncertain whether the concert tickets would even sell.

Moreover, they were filming in Macau. When he received his acting fees, he could go directly to the casino for a few rounds; maybe he could quickly win back some money.

In the gaps between filming, he could also learn some gambling skills from Lin Pei. There were simply too many benefits.

He used to hate Lin Pei, but this time Lin Pei took the initiative to find him, which counted as helping him. He decided not to mention past matters for now... Before long, the first scene began filming.

This was exactly a scene between Lin Pei and Wang Feng, filming a scene of the two of them playing cards at a gambling table.

Soon, Wang Feng again felt that suffocating feeling of Lin Pei controlling everything and ruthlessly suppressing him with a hand of high cards.

Even without the prop staff, Lin Pei could very easily pull out the suits and ranks that appeared in the script, easily winning against him every time.

Honestly, this was too divine.

Thanks to his years of gambling, Wang Feng got into character very quickly in this scene; he even forgot that they were filming.

After the first round of the gambling match, he began to be shocked and suspicious.

After two rounds, he began to be manic and hysterical.

After three rounds, his eyes were dull, showing a state of exhaustion, and he opened his mouth to wail out a favorite song... Everyone in the Film Crew couldn’t help but praise him repeatedly.

”I can see it; this Heavenly King Wang is indeed playing himself. No technique at all, it’s all true feelings.”

”Yeah, the veins on his head are about to burst. This kind of anger is definitely not acted out.”

”He’s in character, and he’s also been miserably abused by Brother Lin.”

After finishing a scene, Wang Feng was close to collapsing and was drenched in sweat.

After a while, he calmed down and remembered he was acting.

Dammit.

It’s so freaking uncomfortable.

Gambling against Lin Pei is too agonizing; it’s like experiencing mental and physical torment every moment.

If he had known he would have to suffer this second round of hardship while filming, he wouldn’t have come even if he were beaten to death.

The key was that Lin Pei’s gambling was real gambling, and his hitting was real hitting—he didn’t use a stunt double.

It just so happened that he had a scene where he was supposed to be hit by Lin Pei, and it almost scared him out of his mind.

Lin Pei knows the Mighty Vajra Foot; couldn’t he just let a stunt double do it... Everyone in the Film Crew had no sympathy for him at all and was still shouting over there.

”Good hit! Brother Lin is so handsome, so handsome!”

Dammit, Lin Pei is handsome, but he’s in a very wretched state, okay?

Learning that he still had quite a few scenes left, Wang Feng cried.

He really didn’t want to earn this money; he was truly afraid he wouldn’t live until the wrap-up!

So he found The Director and said he didn’t want to act anymore.

The Director expressed his understanding.

”Fine, pay the ten-fold penalty for breach of contract, and you can leave.”

Ten-fold??

Wang Feng had a face of defeat; where would he get the money?

He touched his belly, which had thinned down in just a few days due to mental and physical torture, looking extremely pitiful.

”Cough... Director, I can still hold on for a bit longer.”

A few minutes later, Wang Feng, walking out of The Director’s office, felt like his tears had run dry.

Waaah... He’s too miserable...
