Harem Master: Seduction System

Chapter 431: The Labyrinth of Seals

The spiraling, subterranean descent into the deepest bowels of the earth was a pathway paved with absolute, suffocating despair. The air pressure dropped drastically with every hundred yards, replaced by a dense, cloying miasma of ancient, rotting marrow and the sharp, coppery tang of freshly spilled blood. The jagged, obsidian-carved walls of the catacombs seemed to absorb all light, save for the sickly, erratic flickering of green ghost-fire burning within massive, rusted iron braziers.

The demonic vanguard was in full, chaotic retreat.

Grand Elder Yan Lie of the Blood Lotus Cult marched at the rear of the retreating column, his crimson robes torn and heavily saturated with the blood of both his enemies and his own disciples. His face, usually a mask of pale, aristocratic superiority, was contorted into a grimace of furious concentration. His internal meridians burned with the agonizing backlash of maintaining his blood-arts against the overwhelming, blinding pressure of the Imperial Vanguard that relentlessly pursued them from the upper levels.

Beside him floated Vice-Sect Master Gui Wuying of the Nether-Soul Grudge Sect. Gui Wuying did not walk; his emaciated, skeletal form levitated inches above the obsidian floor, shrouded entirely in tattered, multi-layered gray burial wraps. The air around him dropped to a sub-zero, bone-chilling temperature, freezing the ambient moisture into jagged, black frost upon the stone.

“The outer barricades have fallen far faster than anticipated,” Gui Wuying’s voice echoed in the claustrophobic tunnel, a horrid, overlapping chorus of raspy, spectral whispers that bypassed the ears and vibrated directly against the soul. “The Imperial dogs possess a terrifying, blunt instrument at their vanguard. A warrior whose martial intent severs the very spatial leylines of our defensive arrays.”

“Let the foreigner and the imperial lapdogs break themselves against the stone,” Yan Lie snarled, coughing a splatter of thick, black blood onto the stairs. He wiped his mouth with the back of a trembling hand, his eyes burning with fanatical zeal. “We have bled them for every inch of ground. We have funneled them exactly where they need to be. The narrow confines of the descent will nullify their numerical advantage. We only need to buy the High Priests within the Inner Sanctum a few more hours.”

“A few more hours,” Gui Wuying repeated, his gray shrouds whipping around him as a localized wind of sorrow swirled through the tunnel. “The ancient locks are resilient. The celestial alignment is absolute. If the blood-conduits fail to maintain the necessary polarization, the entire endeavor will collapse into dust.”

“They will not fail,” Yan Lie stated, his voice a low, absolute vow. “We have spent three centuries preparing for this exact celestial cycle. The blood has been cultivated perfectly.”

The two demonic leaders turned their backs to the distant, echoing roars of the advancing righteous forces and descended the final, massive flight of stairs.

They crossed the threshold of a colossal, arching gateway forged from pure, deep-earth star-iron. The heavy doors had been blasted open decades ago, their hinges melted by highly corrosive demonic acid. Beyond the gateway lay the ultimate destination, the very heart of the demonic sects’ continent-spanning ambition: The Inner Sanctum.

The chamber was a breathtaking, horrifying marvel of ancient, subterranean geography. It was a massive, hollowed-out geode, easily half a mile across. The walls were lined with thousands of jagged, naturally formed amethyst crystals that pulsed with a dark, corrupted violet light.

In the absolute center of the colossal cavern, suspended fifty feet in the air by invisible, terrifying magnetic forces, floated a massive, perfectly smooth black crystal.

The crystal was fifty feet tall and thirty feet wide. It was entirely opaque, yet it radiated an aura of such profound, unadulterated, abyssal malice that any mortal who looked upon it would instantly experience complete, irreversible psychological collapse. It was the physical prison of the Primordial Spirit belonging to the Abyssal Bone Demon Emperor.

Even sealed, the sheer, crushing gravity of the Demon Emperor’s presence demanded instinctual, terrified worship. The air within a hundred yards of the black crystal was so dense with dark Qi that it felt like moving through freezing mud.

But the demonic cultists could not simply reach out and shatter the glass.

Surrounding the floating black crystal, anchored to the crystalline floor of the geode, was the ultimate obstacle. It was the ancient countermeasure left behind by the supreme experts who had laid the Demon Emperor low tens of thousands of years ago: The Seven-Star Heaven-Lock Array.

Grand Elder Yan Lie and Vice-Sect Master Gui Wuying approached the perimeter of the array, their eyes narrowing as they beheld the absolute, flawless perfection of the ancient righteous cultivators.

The array was composed of seven colossal pillars, each forged from pure, unblemished white-gold star-iron. The pillars were arranged in the exact, mirrored constellation of the Big Dipper. Connecting the pillars were thick, shimmering chains of condensed, physical starlight, forming an impenetrable, glowing dome over the black crystal.

The surface of each white-gold pillar was meticulously carved with tens of thousands of microscopic, glowing runes. The runes actively drew upon the ambient, natural leylines of the earth, creating a self-sustaining, perpetual engine of divine suppression.

‘It is a masterpiece of unyielding, absolute rigidity,’ Yan Lie thought, his dark eyes tracing the intricate, glowing pathways of the seal. ‘It requires the simultaneous, perfectly synchronized activation of seven distinct elemental nodes: Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, Lightning, Light, and Absolute Darkness. But elemental Qi alone is insufficient.’

The ancient architects had been utterly paranoid. They knew that raw power could eventually be accumulated by demonic forces. To ensure the seal could never be breached by sheer force, they had encoded a genetic cipher into the array’s foundation.

‘The nodes must be balanced by specific, pure martial bloodlines belonging to the founding elders of the Astral Constellation Sect,’ Yan Lie analyzed, his jaw tightening at the sheer, impossible complexity of the lock. ‘Furthermore, the activation sequence must be perfectly synchronized with the current, exact celestial alignment of the heavens above. A deviation of a single fraction of a second, or a micro-ounce of elemental imbalance, triggers the fail-safe.’

The fail-safe was the ultimate deterrent, and the very reason the Blood Lotus Cult and the Nether-Soul Grudge Sect had not simply bombarded the array with everything they had.

The seven pillars were not just anchored to the floor; their foundational roots extended miles beneath the crust, directly tied to the primary tectonic plates of the northern province. Any forceful, uncalculated breach attempt—any strike of raw, overwhelming Battle Aura directed at the white-gold pillars—would instantly activate the ‘Heaven-Sealing Earth-Shatter Protocol’. The array would violently detonate its stored celestial energy, causing a catastrophic, localized earthquake that would collapse the entire mountain range. Millions of tons of bedrock would instantly crush the cavern, burying the Demon Emperor’s Primordial Spirit within the earth’s molten core forever.

The cult needed the Primordial Spirit intact to rewrite the empire’s leylines. A cave-in was unacceptable.

Therefore, brute force was useless. They had to pick the lock.

Gui Wuying floated closer to the edge of the starlight dome, the wailing faces in his gray shrouds hissing as the divine, purifying light of the array brushed against them.

“The Astral Constellation Sect,” Gui Wuying rasped, a sound of profound, ancient hatred. “They were fools who believed their legacy would outlast our patience. They believed their star-charts and blood-seals were infallible.”

Yan Lie offered a cold, predatory smirk. “They underestimated the virtue of time. A lock crafted by mortals, no matter how profound, possesses a key. And we spent three hundred years forging it.”

The history of the demonic sects’ endeavor was a masterclass in ruthless, generational scheming. They had not attempted to storm the catacombs centuries ago. They knew the Astral Constellation Sect—the ancient allies of the Imperial Family who had constructed the seal—possessed the only true understanding of the array’s mechanics.

Instead of a frontal assault, the cults had initiated a shadow war of absolute, meticulous psychological destruction.

Yan Lie remembered the clan archives detailing the grand operation. The demonic infiltrators had not used swords; they had used whispers and poison. They had spent decades secretly polluting the Astral Constellation Sect’s sacred ‘Star-Gazing Wells’ with ‘Marrow-Rot Incense’, a tasteless, odorless demonic narcotic that slowly, invisibly induced severe paranoia and hyper-aggression in the sect’s high elders.

They had forged letters, planted corrupted artifacts, and systematically ignited a bitter, unresolvable ideological schism between the sect’s ‘Lunar’ and ‘Solar’ factions. The civil war had been bloody, devastating, and entirely engineered from the shadows. When the weakened, fractured sect had finally drawn the attention of the surrounding righteous empires due to their erratic, violent behavior, the Imperial Vanguard had swept in to finish them off, completely unaware they were acting as executioners for the demonic cults.

In the chaotic, burning aftermath of the Astral Constellation Sect’s destruction, the Blood Lotus Cult and the Nether-Soul Grudge Sect had swooped in like vultures.

They had hunted down the fleeing, scattered descendants of the sect’s founding elders. They did not kill them immediately. They dragged them into the deepest, darkest torture chambers of the abyssal domains. Through horrifying, soul-rending interrogation techniques and forbidden mind-reading arts, the demonic elders had extracted every single fragment of ancestral knowledge regarding the Seven-Star Heaven-Lock Array.

They learned the exact celestial alignments. They learned the precise elemental frequencies required. But most importantly, they learned the genetic cipher.

They discovered that the array could be tricked. If raw, highly polarized human blood, artificially cultivated to mimic the absolute extremes of Yin and Yang, was pumped directly into the foundation runes at the exact astrological hour, the divine seals would slowly, methodically corrode without recognizing the intrusion as a hostile attack.

Thus, the ‘Yin-Yang Blood-Corrosion Mandala’ was born.

“Is the pressure holding?” Yan Lie demanded, turning his attention away from the pillars and looking toward the massive, horrifying industrial complex the cult had erected around the perimeter of the array.

“The polarization is absolute, Grand Elder,” a high-ranking Blood Priest answered, bowing deeply. His robes were soaked in fresh blood, his eyes wide with fanatical exhaustion. “The conduits are bleeding at optimal capacity.”

Surrounding the Seven-Star Heaven-Lock Array were hundreds of massive, cylindrical vats forged from dark, rusted iron. The vats bubbled and hissed, connected by a sprawling, intricate network of thick, transparent crystalline pipes that snaked across the floor toward the white-gold pillars.

Inside the vats was the culmination of decades of horrific, meticulous preparation.

They contained thousands of mortal citizens, suspended in a thick, translucent, preservative fluid.

These were not randomly captured villagers or unfortunate travelers. Every single mortal suspended in the vats had been selectively hunted, kidnapped as infants, and artificially cultivated for their entire lives within the deepest, lightless dungeons of the demonic sects.

The cult required absolute, biological extremes to mimic the ancient bloodlines.

Half of the vats contained individuals possessing the ‘Extreme Yin Physique’. These mortals had been born precisely in the Year of the Black Water Snake, during the exact month of the Frost Moon, at the absolute nadir of the Hour of the Yin Rat. For twenty years, the cult had forcefully fed them ‘Ice-Marrow Drops’ and ‘Nether-Root lotuses’, plunging their bodies into sub-zero agony, purposefully suppressing their Yang vitality until their very veins ran black with concentrated, freezing Yin energy. Their skin was the color of frostbitten corpses, their heartbeats so slow they were practically dead.

The other half of the vats held individuals possessing the ‘Extreme Yang Physique’. Born in the Year of the Golden Sun Dragon, during the Scorch Flame month, at the zenith of the Yang Horse hour. They had been subjected to horrific, burning regimens, force-fed ‘Scorching-Sun Lotus Seeds’ and bathed in active volcanic runoff. Their bodies were emaciated, their skin cracked and glowing with a permanent, feverish red heat, their blood boiling within their veins from the sheer, unchecked Yang vitality.

They were not treated as humans. They were living, breathing alchemy ingredients, pushed to the absolute, fatal limits of mortal endurance.

“Commence the final extraction sequence,” Gui Wuying ordered, his skeletal hand raising into the air. “The Imperial vanguard approaches the outer doors. We no longer have the luxury of preservation. Drain them completely.”

The Blood Priests surrounding the vats immediately fell to their knees, their hands weaving rapid, jagged martial seals. They began to chant a low, guttural, atonal hymn that vibrated with deep, resonant malice.

The transparent crystalline pipes instantly shuddered.

Inside the vats, the thousands of mortal conduits convulsed violently. The thick preservative fluid turned rapidly into a horrific, churning red as massive, specialized needles embedded in their major arteries violently extracted their life force.

The process was an agonizing masterpiece of dark cultivation mechanics.

The blood drawn from the Extreme Yin conduits was a dark, sluggish, freezing black liquid that frosted the outside of the crystalline pipes as it moved. The blood drawn from the Extreme Yang conduits was a bright, searing, incandescent crimson that caused the pipes to steam and hiss with extreme heat.

The two distinct, polarized streams of blood flowed through the network of pipes, converging at a massive, central runic basin situated just outside the perimeter of the starlight dome.

This was where the two demonic sects combined their horrifying expertise.

Dozens of elite elders from the Blood Lotus Cult stood around the basin. They extended their hands, their own corrupted meridians flaring as they manipulated the physical properties of the blood. They utilized the ‘Sanguine Homogenization Art’, forcibly violently blending the freezing black Yin blood and the boiling crimson Yang blood into a singular, highly unstable, churning mixture of pure, polarized life force.

Simultaneously, acolytes from the Nether-Soul Grudge Sect surrounded the basin. They shattered hundreds of rusted iron soul-lanterns, releasing a torrential, shrieking swarm of tortured, fragmented spirits. Utilizing the ‘Spectral Agony Infusion’, they forcefully drove the wailing souls directly into the churning pool of polarized blood.

The combination of extreme, artificially cultivated physical vitality and absolute, concentrated spiritual torment created the ultimate solvent: Abyssal Acid.

The blood in the basin turned a sickening, luminescent, violently bubbling violet. It radiated an aura of such intense, corrosive corruption that the solid obsidian floor beneath the basin began to melt and sizzle.

“Channel the flow to the star-nodes!” Yan Lie roared, his hands gripping the air as if physically directing the current. “Synchronize the elemental frequencies!”

The Blood Priests activated the final series of valves. The highly corrosive, agonizing violet blood-acid surged out of the basin, traveling through seven distinct, reinforced channels carved directly into the floor, flowing straight toward the base of the seven white-gold pillars of the Seven-Star Heaven-Lock Array.

The moment the demonic blood-acid made contact with the divine star-iron, the reaction was utterly explosive.

HIIISSSSSSSSSSSS!

A deafening, shrieking sound echoed through the massive geode, resembling the screams of thousands of dying metal beasts. The blinding, pure white-gold light of the array flared violently, desperately trying to reject the absolute corruption. Thick clouds of searing, foul-smelling steam erupted from the base of the pillars as the divine energy clashed with the polarized blood.

Sparks of conflicting Qi rained down upon the cavern floor, burning holes through the stone. The starlight chains connecting the pillars shuddered, humming with a high-pitched, dangerous frequency.

“The structural integrity is holding!” Gui Wuying declared, his spectral eyes narrowing as he observed the clash. “The array is identifying the polarized blood as a natural elemental influx, not a kinetic attack! The Heaven-Sealing Earth-Shatter Protocol remains dormant!”

“Push more blood!” Yan Lie demanded, pointing at the bubbling vats. “The divine runes are attempting to purify the acid! Overwhelm the purification matrix with sheer volume!”

The Blood Priests chanted louder, blood pouring from their own noses and eyes due to the extreme strain of managing the massive, volatile array. The extraction needles drove deeper into the mortal conduits. The bodies within the vats withered and collapsed in upon themselves, entirely drained of their life essence in seconds, discarded like empty husks.

A fresh, massive surge of violent, bubbling violet acid slammed against the base of the pillars.

The divine, glowing runes carved into the white-gold star-iron began to flicker. Slowly, agonizingly, the brilliant light of the first, lowest layer of protective runes began to dim, suffocated under the relentless, corrosive tide of extreme Yin, extreme Yang, and pure agony. The star-iron hissed, a faint, dark discoloration beginning to spread upward from the floor.

“The first elemental node is destabilizing!” a Blood Elder shouted triumphantly over the deafening hiss of the steam. “The Earth Node is yielding to the corruption!”

Before Yan Lie could celebrate, a massive, reverberating THUD shook the entire cavern.

Dust and loose amethyst crystals rained down from the ceiling of the geode. The heavy, sealed bronze doors at the far end of the cavern, leading to the spiraling stairwell, groaned loudly under a tremendous, localized kinetic impact.

“They have reached the inner gates,” Gui Wuying noted, his spectral voice chillingly calm.

THUD! THUD!

The bronze doors, forged from enchanted, heavy imperial steel, began to bow inward, glowing cherry-red in the center as an overwhelming, external source of heat and pressure bombarded them.

“The vanguard is hammering the seal,” Yan Lie snarled, his hand resting on the hilt of a jagged, bone-handled scimitar at his waist. “The array requires at least another hour of sustained corrosion to completely dissolve the inner starlight chains without triggering the collapse. The doors will not hold for ten minutes against the concentrated might of the Imperial Consorts and that monstrous, sword-wielding barbarian.”

“Then we must ensure they do not take a single step past the threshold,” Gui Wuying stated, floating toward the center of the vast expanse separating the bronze doors from the ritual array. “We will establish the final, absolute line of defense. All remaining elders, to the vanguard!”

The surviving elite disciples and high elders of both sects, numbering in the hundreds, immediately abandoned their restorative meditations and rushed to form a solid, desperate blockade in front of the bronze doors.

They knew there was no retreat. If the Imperial forces breached the ritual circle, centuries of meticulous planning, civil wars, and blood sacrifices would be reduced to ash. They were preparing to die to see their abyssal god reborn.

Yan Lie strode to the absolute front of the demonic formation. He did not issue inspiring words or promises of glory. He demanded absolute, horrifying sacrifice.

“Blood Lotus disciples!” Yan Lie roared, his voice echoing with fanatical, bloodthirsty zeal. “The flesh is a vessel! The blood is the weapon! Offer your foundations to the Abyssal Lord!”

He set the horrifying example. Yan Lie raised his hands and violently, brutally tore his own crimson robes open, exposing his pale, muscular chest. Without a single flinch of hesitation, he plunged his razor-sharp, blackened fingernails directly into his own sternum.

He ripped his chest cavity open in a sickening spray of black blood. He reached deep inside his own body, his face contorted in a mask of absolute, transcendent agony and zealous ecstasy. He gripped his own lower ribs and violently snapped them off his spine, pulling the bloody, curved bones free from his flesh.

“Blood-Iron Meridian Art: Bone-Scythes of the Blood River!” Yan Lie chanted, his Peak Martial King aura exploding as he pumped his entire, corrupted Dantian reserve into the extracted bones.

The ribs instantly grew, hardening and expanding into massive, six-foot-long, jagged scythes forged from darkened, indestructible bone and solidified blood-iron. The wounds on his chest did not heal; they merely sealed themselves with glowing, black scar tissue, his vitality entirely sustained by demonic augmentation.

His elite disciples did not hesitate. Driven by fanatical indoctrination, dozens of Blood Martialists mimicked their Grand Elder. They slashed their own wrists, their chests, and their throats, allowing their corrupted blood to pour onto the obsidian floor.

“Merge the flesh! Form the Behemoth!” Yan Lie commanded.

The spilled blood did not pool. It writhed and crawled, acting as a grotesque, magnetic binding agent. The disciples threw themselves onto the bloody floor, their bodies violently violently slamming together. The blood fused their limbs, their torsos, and their faces into a massive, undulating, horrifying mountain of screaming flesh and jagged bone.

They utilized the ‘Gore-Behemoth Formation’. It was a suicidal, ultimate defensive technique that combined the raw, physical mass and accumulated Battle Auras of fifty expert Martialists into a singular, towering monstrosity of hardened blood-iron and thrashing limbs, completely blocking the center of the cavern floor.

Beside the horrifying amalgamation of flesh, Vice-Sect Master Gui Wuying prepared the Nether-Soul Grudge Sect’s ultimate deterrent.

“Disciples of the Grudge,” Gui Wuying whispered, his voice slicing through the sounds of tearing flesh. “Shatter the Ancestral Lanterns.”

The gray-shrouded elders stepped forward. From their spatial rings, they produced massive, incredibly ancient lanterns forged from rusted iron and human skulls. These were not ordinary soul-lanterns containing recently captured victims. These were the ‘Ancestral Lanterns’, containing the compressed, tortured, and driven-mad spirits of ancient, powerful cultivators the sect had harvested over centuries.

With synchronized precision, the elders smashed the lanterns against the obsidian floor.

The resulting explosion of Yin energy was apocalyptic. A blinding flash of gray light swept through the cavern, instantly plunging the ambient temperature to absolute zero.

Millions of wailing, shrieking, fragmented souls poured out of the shattered lanterns. They did not fly into the air to attack. Directed by Gui Wuying’s skeletal hands, the souls aggressively dove directly into the solid obsidian floorboards spreading across the wide expanse in front of the bronze doors.

“Thousand-Soul Agony Pit,” Gui Wuying rasped, his gray shrouds billowing wildly.

The solid stone floor instantly transformed into a swirling, churning morass of screaming, spectral faces. The ground lost its physical cohesion, becoming a localized nightmare realm of dense, freezing Yin energy and absolute despair. Any righteous cultivator who stepped onto those stones would not find solid footing; their physical bodies would sink into the spectral mud, and their souls would be violently dragged out of their flesh, ripped apart by a thousand vengeful, ancient ghosts before their boots even touched the bottom.

KRRAAAACK!

A massive, jagged fissure appeared down the center of the heavy bronze doors. Blinding, searing white light and the unmistakable, roaring heat of an Imperial Fire Art spilled through the crack, illuminating the horrifying defensive lines of the demonic sects.

“Hold the line!” Yan Lie roared, raising his massive, blood-iron bone-scythes, his eyes fixed on the crumbling gateway. “Let the Imperial dogs drown in our blood! For the Abyssal Lord!”

BOOOOOOM!

The bronze doors finally gave way, violently exploding inward in a catastrophic shower of molten shrapnel and shattered stone. The thick, suffocating smoke of the detonation billowed into the geode, and through the fiery haze, the towering, imposing silhouettes of the Imperial Vanguard stepped into the Inner Sanctum.
