Chapter 1937: Concrete Plans

Arken Port City-Black View Hotel

I continued watching the news channels. Though it was in a different language, I was able to understand and talk. It increases my survival skills in this unknown city.

Not only that, I was able to learn more about Arken City. Like any other city, there are undercurrents here.

Competition between the business houses, rivalry between families, gang fights, and other things do take place here.

I memorized the names of these families. I didn’t want to come across them during my 5-day stay here.

I also learned about the names of the gangs operating in the city. They were most active during the nighttime.

There is a lower chance of encountering them. Mostly, no one causes trouble for outsiders. So, I was safe.

Time passed

After watching enough news, I began to search for information about the Opal Magic Forest. To my surprise, I found many articles about the Opal Magic Forest.

No information was suppressed here. Then, I selected the topic and began to read about the Opal Magic Forest.

Time passed

My expression became solemn. I continued to read other articles on this topic. I was trying to absorb as much information as possible.

I underestimated the size of the Skycrest Kingdom. It is undoubtedly vast. To reach the other side of the border, I have to go through multiple cities of the kingdom.

There is a diverse land located in between the Opal Magic Forest and the Skycrest Nation. This diverse land consists of monster forests and other wizard forces.

There is no clear border. It is like a chaotic land. The size and territory of this chaotic land is vast as well. That is why the map of the chaotic land changes every time.

Many wizard forces in the chaotic land rise and fall all the time. The names of the occupied territories change constantly.

The article precisely talked about the wars between the different forces happening there all the time.

I tried to memorize the names of the forces at the border. The names of the borders might change. So, I decided to memorize all the names.

If I were to reach the border, then I could use these names to understand the general situation.

Time passed

Nighttime came. I put away the device and placed it on the table. I stood up and walked up to the window.

Creak!

I opened the window. A cold wind brushed against my face. I saw that the entire city was illuminated with light through the night.

The towering skyscrapers were lit with light. It was as if the towers were active and people were inside during the nighttime as well.

Swoosh!

Then I spotted flying skycrook monsters in the sky. My gaze fell on them. Each of the monsters was between the 5th and 6th orders.

They could easily terrorize small towns. I couldn’t help but think of the thorny vines and the crocodile monster back home.

I wonder what they are doing. The whole city must be looking for traces of me. Especially those Magic Towers that must be looking for my whereabouts.

I made the right decision to leave for the mission. If I had stayed back at the magic city, I would not have come across the super relics both times.

Maybe I could come across an opportunity in the chaotic land as well. Then, I collected my thoughts. I closed the window before going to the bedroom.

The following day,

I woke up early. Then I entered the Gregor Mansion to practice the Mental Method. Today, I have a lot of things to do.

From last night’s research, I got to know about many things. I know I need to cross many cities to reach the border of the chaotic land.

The border city close to the chaotic land is called Black Monk City. I have to collect information about the Black Monk City.

Time passed

I ended the practice and stood up. Then I appeared outside and entered the bath. I spent 20 minutes in the bath.

After walking out, I changed into comfortable clothes.

A few minutes later,

I left the hotel room and came down to the ground floor. I saw many other people in the lobby. The wizard level of each person was different.

Continuous gazing could draw attention.

I left the hotel and went to the cab area outside. But before I could approach, the image of David came to mind.

He gave me a card last night. His acquaintance was a well-known guide. Maybe I should use his help. Having such a person accompanying me won’t cause any suspicion.

Then I took the card out and saw the contact number on it. I immediately phoned the person.

When the call connected, I introduced myself and spoke about the carriage owner, David. The guide’s name is Billy. He agreed to come right away.

I ended the call and began to wait for him. Fortunately, he didn’t have an appointment today. I don’t know what the others from the Blue Pearl Nation are doing.

If I’m not wrong, then they will be leaving today. Guardian Gary must be ready to depart.

A cold glint flashed in my eyes. I must do something during the return journey. It didn’t take long for the guide to arrive.

Guide Billy is a middle-aged man. He seemed to be talkative right away. No wonder he and David are buddies.

”Hello, I’m Frank. I’m new to the city. I hope you will take me to the tourist places,” I said to Billy.

Hearing that, Billy revealed a smile on his face.

”Okay,” he said.

Then we both entered the black cab.

Swoosh!

The next second, the cab departed from the place. Inside the cab, Billy continued to talk.

He was non-stop. Hearing that, I felt a headache coming on. This guy is talking about the city, but I read about the city last night.

So, I pretended to be a newcomer and continued to listen with an enthusiastic face. From time to time, the cab driver looked back at us.
