Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1419: Part 2: Big conspiracy

From MCʼs Perspective:

Night fell, and I returned to the room. After locking the door, I went to take a bath.

About 20 minutes later,

I stepped out and changed into comfortable clothes. I had been in the underground storage room most of the day. I didnʼt know what was happening outside.

”Did the news about Peter Doyle continue to cause a stir?” I asked myself.

Then I lay down on the bed and started to browse the news. The news feed appeared. My gaze fell on the trending articles.

Soon, I saw something that made me sit up from the bed.

”The old man referee is dead,” I uttered.

A hint of seriousness flashed in my eyes. Iʼm sure itʼs not a coincidence. First, it was the crippled news of Peter Doyle. Then itʼs the death news of the old man referee.

He was the only one apart from me who could tell what happened to Peter Doyle.

”Sigh”

I let out a deep sigh. Like I had guessed, someone is targeting the Silver Tower through me. First, it was the Forbidden Wizard Remi of the Black Tower.

Now itʼs the Wind Elemental Tower.

Then a sudden thought occurred to me that cleared a few of my doubts. I had no conflict with the Black Tower, let alone against the Forbidden Wizard Remi earlier.

But right now, looking at whatʼs happening around me, I have this feeling that the Forbidden Wizard Remiʼs attack was not because of any personal grudge.

It could be a plan between the two Wind Elemental Tower, which means the Wind Elemental Tower was involved even before the duel against Peter Doyle.

Itʼs possible that they started their plan when Tom Doyle first issued a challenge against me. My back went cold thinking about it.

I donʼt know who else has figured this out. Right now, I guess most of the wizards would have smelled the conspiracy of the Wind Elemental Tower and the Black Tower.

Already, their forbidden wizard attacked me. Then he attacked three other wizard seeds. I donʼt know whatʼs going on with the higher-ups.

The Forbidden Wizard Charlotte seems to be thinking about this as well.

”Itʼs going to be troublesome,” I said in my heart.

I had already decided not to go out because of the Doyle Family. Now this has happened. I guess itʼs even more dangerous to go outside of the Silver Tower.

”What to do?” I asked myself.

Maybe I should have a serious talk with Manager Lara in the morning. She would know whatʼs going on right now.

...

Doyle Family:

The whole magic city thinks that the Doyle Family knows about the death of the old referee of the magic arena. But they themselves were surprised.

The Head and Elders of the family knew that the Wind Elemental Tower was up to something. Now the news of the refereeʼs death has confirmed their suspicions.

Now they were even more afraid to go against the Wind Elemental Tower.

Peter Doyle is still recovering in his room. His eyes have become dull. No one is talking to him right now. Apart from the servants, no one is seeing him.

He knows that his mana core was fine after the duel. He had only suffered the injuries of several broken bones. But when he was unconscious and taken to the infirmary, something happened to his mana core at that time.

Only after waking up did he find out that his mana core was damaged and he had become crippled.

He knew it was not related to Vincent Carey. But someone else had done it to him. He didnʼt know who and why. His heart was boiling with anger thinking about it.

The Wind Elemental Tower has kicked him out as well. He knows the possibility of rejoining is slim unless someone uses outer space resources to cure his mana core.

The outer space resources are valuable for the Forbidden Wizards. Unless the whole family decides on the matter, he wonʼt be able to become a wizard again.

On the other hand, Tom Doyle is rejoicing. The family has started paying attention to him again. He was delighted after hearing the news about the death of the old referee.

He thinks Vincent Carey will face more death threats hereafter.

...

The following day,

After getting ready, I exited the room and came to the living area. I called Manager Lara and asked her to come.

Shortly afterward,

Manager Lara arrived. Upon seeing her, I immediately started asking questions.

”Manager Lara, whatʼs going on?”

”At first, Peter Doyle was crippled. Now the old man referee is dead. It clearly shows itʼs targeted at me and the Silver Tower,” I said.

Lara sighed inwardly. She then looked at Vincent Carey with a serious face.

”I thought about telling you yesterday, but I was occupied with some other matters,” she said.

”When it comes to this matter, donʼt worry about it. I have already reported to Lord Charlotte. She is discussing it with other senior wizards.”

”Soon, we will know whatʼs going on,” she added.

Hearing that, I heaved a sigh of relief. If the higher-ups are already investigating, then itʼs fine.

Manager Lara then thought of something important before saying, ”Lord Charlotte has given a warning again. She doesnʼt want you to go out at any cost.”

”Okay,” I replied.

Then we spoke about a few other things before parting ways. I started walking back to the underground storage room.

A few minutes later,

I arrived at the underground storage room and started doing my work. I had been quite worried since yesterday. But my heart is at ease right now.

It was quite visible that both towers were up to no good. Then I thought about the other three wizard seeds. They had become silent as well.

It appeared their families were worried too. When I was recalling some recent events, the face of Meteor Supreme came to my mind.

I didnʼt know what happened to that old man. He seemed to have disappeared. He could have gone outside the magic city for a mission again.

Even if he was here, I would still be worried about one more problem.
