Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

From MC’s Perspective:

When I opened my eyes, I was no longer in familiar surroundings. The world around me felt new, unfamiliar, and unnervingly powerful.

The first thing I noticed was the air it hummed with energy, thick with mana far purer and more potent than anything I’d ever felt back in the homeland or even in the Small Alliance Nation.

It was as though the very atmosphere was alive with raw power, vibrating with intensity. Before I could fully take in my surroundings, I felt a sudden, overwhelming surge of mana all around me.

It struck me like a tidal wave. The gravity mana particles in the air, denser and far more concentrated than anything I’d ever encountered, seemed to wrap themselves around me, pulling at me, merging with me.

My body responded almost instinctively. My gravity mana core began to react violently, pulling in the high-level gravity mana without any conscious effort on my part.

A sharp, heart-wrenching pain shot through my chest. “What’s going on?” I gasped, my voice trembling with disbelief. I hadn’t activated my mental method yet my core was ravenously absorbing the surrounding mana. The sheer intensity of the mana threatened to tear me apart from the inside.

I could feel the profound gravity mana surging through my veins, coursing through my body with an overwhelming force. It was almost too much to bear. But amidst the pain, a realization dawned on me: my body wasn’t being destroyed, it was adapting.

“My body is adjusting to the new environment,” I whispered to myself, the thought barely comforting as the searing pain continued. The mana here was far more potent than what I was used to, and it was reshaping me, forcing my body to evolve, to handle this new, higher level of energy.

Just as I was beginning to steady myself, I heard a voice.

“Who are you?”

Startled, I looked up to see an old man standing at the entrance of the room. He appeared to be in his sixties, his face lined with age but his posture still straight, his eyes sharp and inquisitive. His gaze swept over me, scrutinizing my every movement, as if trying to decipher whether I was a threat or merely an intruder.

Still struggling with the pain, I managed to answer, my voice strained. “I’m an acquaintance of Manager Kira of the Small Alliance Nation’s auction building,” I said, hoping my words would ease his suspicion. “I came through the auction building’s teleportation platform… after paying the necessary price.”

The old man’s eyes narrowed for a moment, but then his frown eased. He seemed to consider my words carefully, his sharp gaze softening as understanding dawned. He had clearly verified the teleportation link, and the mention of Manager Kira seemed to settle his concerns. After all, only someone trusted by her could have access to such a platform.

His eyes then drifted to my chest, where I was still clutching at the searing pain coursing through me. His expression shifted concern, maybe even empathy. He recognized the symptoms of someone overwhelmed by new and unfamiliar mana.

“Here, take this pill,” he said, tossing me a small, red colored pill. His tone was brisk but not unkind. “It will reduce the pain and calm the surge of mana in your body.”

I caught the pill mid-air, not wasting a second. As soon as I swallowed it, the pill melted instantly in my mouth, spreading warmth throughout my body.

The effect was immediate like a soothing balm to the raging storm inside me. The once-violent gravity mana settled, becoming docile and manageable. For the first time since arriving here, I could breathe without pain, and I sighed in relief, feeling my body slowly stabilizing.

The old man watched for a moment longer, satisfied with his recovery. “Young man, take your time to adjust the mana in your body,” he said, his voice now calmer, almost reassuring. “I’ll be waiting outside. No one will disturb you.” With that, he turned and left, leaving me in solitude.

I felt a surge of gratitude for the old man. Without that pill, I wasn’t sure I could have stabilized on my own. He had treated me with respect, knowing that anyone associated with Ms. Kira was no ordinary person. But still, his calmness suggested he was used to handling situations like this where mana overwhelmed even the strongest of wizards.

I wasted no time. Sitting down cross-legged on the cool, smooth ground, I immediately began to focus. The mental method I had been taught kicked in, and I felt the familiar flow of energy as I began to regulate the mana inside me. My body, though still sore, started to respond, and I slowly regained control over the gravity mana swirling within me.

After a few moments of deep concentration, I finally had full control. The mana that had been wild and uncontrollable now flowed smoothly, circulating through my body with precision.

As it moved, I could feel the changes in my core. The mana core inside me was still bound by the limitations of level-6, but there was something different now, something profound. The core itself felt stronger, more refined, as though the quality of the mana within it was being purified by this powerful new environment.

This place, with its dense, pure mana, was changing me. I could feel it in every fiber of my being. The gravity mana I commanded was becoming stronger, sharper. My spells once formidable would now carry a new level of power. I could feel it, sense it.

As I sat there, the realization hit me: this was just the beginning. The environment here, so rich in high-level mana, would push me beyond the limits I had once thought possible. My journey was far from over, and with every second I spent here, I grew stronger.

The pain had subsided, but the sense of purpose burned hotter than ever. I would master this power. I had to because I knew the challenges that lay ahead would require nothing less than the full extent of my strength.

One Hour Later

Time seemed to lose its meaning as I sat cross-legged on the cold, stone floor. The weight of the outside world faded, and the only thing that mattered was the flow of mana and the subtle, yet profound, shifts in my understanding of the Gravity Rule.

The thick, high-level gravity mana of this new environment was like nothing I’d ever experienced. Its sheer density sharpened my senses, each particle of mana resonating with the core of my being.

As the minutes ticked by, I felt my mind open, my consciousness expanding, slowly attuning itself to the delicate balance of gravitational forces around me.

It was as if the very fabric of the world was being peeled back layer by layer, revealing secrets that had always been there but were now, finally, within my reach. My connection to the Gravity Rule deepened, and the once-elusive principles behind it began to fall into place.

My earlier discomfort was long forgotten. Now, I was completely immersed in this sensation, my mind working in perfect harmony with the powerful gravity mana surrounding me. Every breath I took, every movement of energy within me, brought me closer to unlocking more of the Gravity Rule. I couldn’t let this moment slip away.

…

Outside

Meanwhile, the old man waited patiently just beyond the door, his arms crossed as he paced lightly across the stone floor. His brow furrowed in thought.

It wasn’t unusual for new arrivals to take some time to adjust to the mana density of this place, it often took little more than half an hour for most wizards to stabilize their bodies in this environment. But now, over an hour had passed, and the young man hadn’t emerged.

Interesting, the old man mused, his sharp eyes narrowing as he considered the situation.

Through the thin walls of the chamber, he could still sense the presence of the young man inside. There was no sign of distress or danger. In fact, the flow of mana within the room was astonishingly steady, almost serene.

It wasn’t like anything the old man had seen from typical newcomers. Most would experience difficulty or need breaks during their initial adaptation, but this young man was different.

The old man’s expression softened as he thought about it. Clearly, the boy had talent, but this level of adaptation was exceptional. Not only had mana stabilized, but it seemed he was doing more than just adjusting to the mana. He was using it, embracing it, and pushing his understanding to new levels.

He’s not just adapting, the old man realized. He’s improving.

His surprise turned into quiet respect. He had seen many talented young wizards pass through these halls, but few had this level of focus, this deep connection to the environment.

The fact that the young man was still inside after all this time suggested something more: a dedication to mastering his element that went beyond mere survival in this new place.

Impressive, the old man thought to himself, his eyes reflecting a mixture of curiosity and admiration.

He continued to wait, but he had no intention of interrupting the young man now. Whatever was happening inside that room was far too important. It would be unwise to break the young man’s concentration during such a crucial moment.

With a sigh, the old man resumed his watch, glancing occasionally toward the door. He knew that something significant was happening inside, and though he didn’t know exactly what it was, he was certain that when the young man finally emerged, he would be even stronger than before.
