God-Level Special Forces Soldier

Just because of a misinterpretation of Xiao Tian’s look, Ji Dantong went hunting on her own.

She didn’t catch anything halfway but saw a treasure that made her heart race, thinking it was a heaven-sent opportunity for her, the destined one, to obtain this treasure.

However, as soon as her hand touched the treasure and before she could make any further move, she heard a buzzing sound beside her ear and felt a sudden sting on her exposed skin.

Then, she found herself in an embarrassing situation of fleeing.

Ji Dantong never dreamed that the Soul-Seeking Bee, which she had only read about in her school library, would be encountered by her. Upon remembering the characteristics recorded in the book, she couldn’t help but start to panic.

Where does this end if I keep running like this?!

How about jumping into a river?

Or should I just lead these Soul-Seeking Bees to Hunter and ask him to help relieve the pressure?

Thinking of Xiao Tian, Ji Dantong started to feel regretful; upon careful thought, there was nothing wrong with his actions.

Moreover, she had said she would follow him without needing any help from him.

Of course, if not for this incident, she wouldn’t have found that treasure!

But finding it yet not obtaining it only fuels more anger, doesn’t it?!

As she pondered her plan, suddenly she was grabbed by a warm hand, and then her figure was pulled and hidden in a half-person-high pit by the roadside.

Looking at Xiao Tian’s serious face in front of her, the fright within Ji Dantong lessened, and moments later, she shyly struggled, ”P-put me down!”

Xiao Tian didn’t heed her words, remaining indifferent despite her struggles. As she was about to explode, she saw him looking up at the sky all the while.

Following his gaze, Ji Dantong instantly let out a soft scream and involuntarily dove into Xiao Tian’s arms, her delicate body trembling uncontrollably, evidently terrified to the extreme.

The relentless buzzing in her ears made Ji Dantong clench her little fists tightly, smacking Xiao Tian’s back forcibly: ”What kind of grudge do you have against me?! Why is it that whenever you’re involved, I end up in misfortune?!”

From the time Ji Dantong spoke up for Xiao Tian, bringing hostile words and even attempted assaults from others, to now fleeing the Soul-Seeking Bees, encountering him once more.

Though she was running well initially, albeit looking disheveled, she hadn’t thought of other ways yet. Suddenly, he intercepted her midway, leaving no time to escape.

Feeling increasingly aggrieved, Ji Dantong couldn’t help but have her eyes turn red. She didn’t know whether to blame herself or the person before her...

Half a moment later, noticing the buzzing gradually fade away, Ji Dantong tremulously lifted her head from Xiao Tian’s embrace, cautiously glancing upwards.

She saw the swarm of Soul-Seeking Bees, once covering the sky like clouds, had mysteriously dispersed.

”Hoo...”

Xiao Tian sighed with relief, releasing her hand, grateful that the invisibility Jade Pendant’s effect hadn’t been detected by the Soul-Seeking Bees; otherwise, encountering creatures with keen senses like Biochemical Beasts, he might have been implicated too!

”How did you even provoke the Soul-Seeking Bees?”

This question indeed puzzled Xiao Tian. Looking at the originally somewhat pretty face in front of him, now swollen from stings with eyes barely open, Xiao Tian couldn’t resist asking.

Feeling her face grow hotter under Xiao Tian’s gaze, Ji Dantong suddenly felt a burning pain on her skin, gently touching it and instantly hissing, drawing a cold gasp.

Realizing she might be disfigured, her mind went blank, and she had forgotten all about Xiao Tian’s question.

Raising her hands and seeing them swollen a size larger than before, Ji Dantong couldn’t hold back her tears spilling over, why was she so unlucky?!

Enduring the pain, Ji Dantong shakily took out a small mirror, and upon looking at herself, was struck like lightning, instantly losing consciousness.

For a girl, being disfigured is no less than the cruelest thing in the world, so it’s normal to be unable to accept it.

...

Upon waking again, Ji Dantong found a bonfire lit beside her and Xiao Tian sitting by it, with a rabbit above emitting a fragrant aroma.

”Hunter?!”

Ji Dantong exclaimed, hastily checking herself. Seeing her clothes intact and feeling no discomfort, she sighed with relief.

Immediately recalling the scene she saw before fainting, she couldn’t help but laugh bitterly. Who’d fancy someone like that?

Wait!

Suddenly realizing something amiss, Ji Dantong was entirely unscathed, which struck her as odd.

She was indeed attacked by Soul-Seeking Bees, whose venom required a specially formulated antidote to neutralize the toxin, which was why, hearing there was no antidote, she fainted.

But now....

Seeing her hands restored, she quickly touched her face, finding no discomfort and seeing the swelling subsided.

What is going on here?

Was everything before just a dream?

If it was a dream, how would she explain her current state?!

”Stop pondering; you’re not dreaming!” Xiao Tian, seemingly figuring out what Ji Dantong was thinking, said, ”You did face an invasion by Soul-Seeking Bees, and when I saw you, you were clutching your face, running wildly.”

Ji Dantong’s face turned scarlet, stammering, ”The-then how did you neutralize the Soul-Seeking Bees’ venom?”

When she finished asking, Xiao Tian explained: ”Not completely, just helped with the swelling for now; this is the extent I can manage at the moment!”

”Huh?!”

Ji Dantong was stunned, staring at her hands, seeing numerous places stung starting to appear as red dots, densely covering them, scary to behold!

Knowing without looking, her face must be the same, Ji Dantong felt upset once again; truth is, she didn’t dare look in the mirror again, fearing she’d faint once more, unable to accept it.

Maybe it’s best like this!

No one would dare approach her now....

Ji Dantong decided to immediately descend the mountain and return to her sect, seeking her master’s help, at least without worry of trouble.

In her current state, even if recognizable, no one would want to confirm it.

Trying to console herself, Ji Dantong’s eyes couldn’t help but turn red again, but she bit her lips hard, lifting her head, trying hard not to let her tears fall.

”Why are you crying?” Xiao Tian asked curiously. ”I only said I could help with the swelling for now, never said I can’t detoxify!”

”You ask why I’m crying...”

Hearing Xiao Tian’s untimely question, seemingly inquiring knowingly, Ji Dantong burst into anger.
