Chapter 326: Chapter 324: The Plan

Under Xiao Tian’s ”gentle persuasion,” Wang Chao finally divulged everything he knew. The most crucial piece of information was that three days later, the drug trafficking gang would have a meeting in Shanghai, where a large amount of drugs would be traded. The leader of the drug organization would also make an appearance.

Recently, drug activity in Shanghai City has been rampant, making it difficult to catch big fish even though they’ve apprehended quite a few small-time dealers.

But this time, things were different. If they could capture the higher-ups of the drug trafficking group, they might follow the clues and dismantle the entire rampant organization. Yang He was both excited and exhilarated.

”Hahaha, Xiao Tian, who would’ve thought you’d make such a huge contribution as soon as you returned!” Yang He laughed heartily and patted Xiao Tian on the shoulder as they exited the interrogation room.

Xiao Tian, Yang He, and the others walked to the hall, chatting and laughing. The police officers in the hall all showed great respect upon seeing Xiao Tian, eagerly greeting him.

”Tian!”

”You’re back, Tian?”

After these series of events, everyone in the station held Xiao Tian in high regard. It was precisely because of Xiao Tian that the West Bureau was rated ”Best Branch,” and everyone’s faces beamed with pride.

At that moment, hurried footsteps sounded, and a figure pushed open the door and walked into the hall, anxiously asking, ”I heard there’s news about the drug organization? Where is it?”

The figure that entered was none other than Bai Tao, the Commissioner of the city bureau.

These days, the rampant drug trafficking had even drawn the attention of Huaxia’s upper echelons. Some leaders personally summoned Bai Tao, urging him to capture the drug dealers as soon as possible. Bai Tao was more anxious than anyone, so as soon as he received Yang He’s call, he drove over immediately.

”Director Bai!” Yang He first greeted respectfully, then handed over the interrogation note, ”Please take a look, this suspect was just brought back by Xiao Tian and Yu Ningxue.”

Bai Tao wore a serious expression, quickly skimming the interrogation note before sitting down and staring at it intently. Very soon, his originally stern expression melted away, replaced by utter delight.

”A major drug deal three days from now, and the drug lord will come?!”

”Great! Fantastic!” Bai Tao excitedly slapped the table, causing the objects on it to rattle, startling everyone present.

In the past half month, Bai Tao had felt as if these drug dealers were playing him for a fool. Despite the full mobilization of the police force, the traffickers continued unabated, turning Shanghai into a crime syndicate’s trading hub.

This was an insult to all of Shanghai’s police, something Bai Tao could not tolerate!

With progress finally being made in this case, Bai Tao couldn’t help but release a breath of relief, resolving internally to capture the upper echelon of this drug trafficking ring!

”It’s Xiao Tian again, where is Xiao Tian?” Overjoyed, Bai Tao anxiously looked around.

”Hey, Director Bai, long time no see!” Xiao Tian, standing next to Yang He, smiled as he stepped forward. Bai Tao, upon seeing Xiao Tian, showed great admiration, promptly rising to pat him on the shoulder and saying with a smile, ”You’ve given me a big gift as soon as you returned!”

With a grand gesture, Bai Tao said happily, ”Your West Bureau has done a great job with this case. Award Xiao Tian and Yu Ningxue a First-Class Merit! If you succeed in apprehending the suspects this time, I’ll award your entire West City Branch a Special Merit! Didn’t Yang He want to build an office building in the West Bureau before? Once this operation succeeds, I’ll apply for it immediately!”

”Th... Thank you, Director Bai!” Upon hearing about the office building, Yang He was instantly excited, his words stumbling.

”By the way,” Yang He suddenly remembered something and turned back to Yu Ningxue with curiosity, ”Ningxue, didn’t you say the suspect was very cunning? Where were the drugs finally hidden?”

Yu Ningxue glanced at Xiao Tian, ”Xiao Tian found it. He talked to that drug dealer for a few minutes and discerned the location from the dealer’s eyes.”

Yu Ningxue’s tone carried a note of pride. The man she, Yu Ningxue, chose was undoubtedly the best!

”Damn, that’s impressive!” Zhang Xuan, who had been listening on the side, couldn’t help but be amazed, ”Your eyes are sharper than a drug detector!”

Many officers around also cast appreciative glances at Xiao Tian. It was said that Xiao Tian was extraordinarily strong and skilled. Unexpectedly, his investigative methods were equally extraordinary, making all his colleagues envious.

”Alright!”

At this moment, Bai Tao’s expression returned to calm. He stood up and spoke directly, his tone filled with determination, ”In that case, everyone, get ready. In three days, we’ll intercept this cunning group of drug traffickers!”

------

Evening, a bustling street in Shanghai City.

At this moment, the sky was dark, and the myriad neon lights adorned the city in a riot of colors, creating a fantasy-like blur.

For those at the pinnacle of the city’s social ladder, their nightlife was just beginning.

In the corner of the street, inside a restaurant named ”Chels.” Xiao Tian and Yu Ningxue were sitting at a ”couple’s table,” with love-themed music playing and most of it relating to love.

Not only the music, but everything in the restaurant revolved around the eternal theme of ”love,” such as roses found everywhere and couples’ photos hanging on the walls, creating an ambiguous atmosphere.

At this moment, Yu Ningxue’s pretty face was blushing, made even more alluring and beautiful in the soft lighting.

Originally, Yu Ningxue had just planned to treat Xiao Tian to a meal to celebrate today’s breakthrough in the case, having chosen the restaurant online. However, she didn’t expect it to be a love-themed restaurant!

”Um... this meal is to celebrate finding the lead in the case... and also to welcome you back...” Yu Ningxue, her cheeks flushed, stammered.

After all, she wasn’t the delicate type, and the atmosphere was somewhat beyond her comfort zone.

Moreover, Xiao Tian had been silent and just watching her, making her even more embarrassed, ”Why... why are you looking at me?”

Xiao Tian smiled and said, ”At you, my beautiful mentor, you are indeed beautiful.”

”Oh.” Startled, Yu Ningxue nearly dropped her wine glass, barely preventing it from falling when she heard Xiao Tian’s words.

”What are you saying?” Yu Ningxue’s face flushed like a red apple but was filled with a sense of delight, her heart brimming with sweetness.

Somehow, Yu Ningxue had become defenseless against Xiao Tian’s sweet words.
