Chapter 238: 238 While you sleep... 2

Night darkness had settled over the city.

Moonlight spilled down the cold stone walls, faintly illuminating the dark streets where pedestrians had long since vanished.

It was a time when most people should be asleep, but perhaps because of that, occasional shouts from the distant entertainment district broke the silence of the deep night and drifted into the room.

The more she closed her eyes and tried to force herself to sleep, the clearer Rin’s mind became.

Eventually, Rin opened her eyes in bed and let out a sigh.

Faint moonlight leaked through the cracks in the closed window, dimly lighting the room.

A pitch-black ceiling shrouded in shadow.

It was a familiar sight she saw whenever sleep eluded her.

Ever since she decided to become a mercenary, left her village, and arrived here, Rin had never had a moment to be truly alone.

In this city filled with mercenaries living for gold, everything required money.

Naturally, even having a space of one’s own cost money.

When eating, when working, when washing, and when sleeping.

In this city always teeming with people, it was impossible for an aspiring mercenary with only a few coins in her pocket to have a quiet private life.

Masturbating in the midst of such a life...

Because she had lived so busily, Rin hadn’t even had the chance to entertain such leisurely thoughts until now.

When food and lodging for the next few days were immediate concerns, such desires were naturally pushed down the priority list.

However, as she regained some stability in her life, the embers of instinctive desire began to flare up again within Rin.

Sexual desire that had accumulated without being properly released flooded in like a tidal wave, reaching a point where Rin’s patience could no longer suppress it.

Rin turned her head and carefully checked on Ian.

The same regular breathing as always...

”Ian..”

Seeing as there was no answer even when she called his name, it seemed certain that he was deeply asleep.

’...Is it okay to do this with someone right next to me?’

Rin’s internal struggle was long, but no matter how much she agonized, she couldn’t stop the desire that was leaking out uncontrollably.

After a moment of hesitation, Rin’s hand moved carefully.

A touch that held a flicker of doubt.

As soon as she pressed her fingers through her clothes against her lower body, a tingle like a bolt of lightning spread through her entire body.

Having received stimulation for the first time in a long while, Rin’s body heated up instantly.

It was only a small sensation through thin fabric, but Rin’s body reacted violently with a jolt.

Rin instinctively turned her head to look toward Ian’s bed.

Through eyes adjusted to the darkness, she could faintly see Ian lying with his back turned.

Rin’s reason kept nagging at her about the situation of sleeping in the same room with someone else, but even so, she couldn’t stop her hand.

It might have been different if she had held back from the very beginning.

But now that she had begun to burn with stimulation after so long, it was impossible to stop and calm her body again.

Rin slowly slid her hand beneath the coarse fabric of the blanket, a layer deeper,

Inside the clothes wrapping her body.

Her fingers touched her sensitively heated place very cautiously.

”...Ngh.”

A small moan slipped through Rin’s lips without her meaning to.

Startled by the sound she had accidentally made, Rin panicked, stifling her voice and quickly checking Ian, but there was no reaction from him.

...It didn’t seem like he had woken up.

Once she felt certain of that, Rin carefully moved her fingers again, making sure to stay quiet.

Much slower than her usual pace.

A touch that crawled slowly without increasing speed brushed against her skin like a tickle, and every time her fingertips touched, a burning sensation spread through Rin’s body as if sparks were sinking in.

Hot breath.

A faint sigh that swallowed a moan echoed in the quiet room.

As the night deepened, the tavern on the first floor finished its business, and the noisy conversations stopped one by one.

The once-hectic inn transformed into a silent place without a single small noise once everyone had gone to sleep.

Rin’s tiniest action...

With just a minor shift of her body, the cheap wooden bed spread an unpleasant creak.

It was an everyday sound that no one in this inn would care about, but Rin felt a sense of shame at the sound echoing.

Rin moved her fingers very cautiously and slowly.

But every time her body jolted from excessive stimulation, the creaking of the wooden bed rang out softly in the room like a moan, replacing the voice she kept pressed inside her tightly shut lips.

”...”

Creak.

Slowly, while immersed in the sensations that teased her entire body, a strange sound reached Rin’s ears.

It wasn’t a sound she made... it was the eerie noise of old wooden planks coming from somewhere else.

The sound of Ian moving.

”...!”

Her guard down as she focused only on pleasure, Rin froze as she belatedly noticed Ian tossing and turning.

Only then did Rin remember once again that someone else was sleeping right next to her.

Holding her breath, Rin stood perfectly still, unable to even take her hand out from inside her clothes.

Since she was covered by the blanket, Ian wouldn’t be able to tell what she was doing even if he saw, but he might have heard her voice.

Did she wake him up because she moved too much?

Was the bed too loud?

Or did she fail to suppress her voice?

What would happen if she were caught?

Doing something like this right next to him...

If he found out she was engaged in such behavior.

Countless thoughts flashed by in an instant, but Ian had merely shifted his position.

Small breaths began to come from Ian again once he stopped moving.

Rin remained frozen like a stone statue for an unknown amount of time, unable to move a muscle.

Only after she was sure he hadn’t woken up did Rin realize Ian had just tossed and turned, and she let out a small sigh.

A long, silent sigh followedâwhether it was relief or lingering regret, she didn’t know.

Rin’s loud heartbeat thudded in the quiet silence of the room.

Her body, which had chilled with tension, immediately heated up again the moment she knew it was okay, squirming as if urging her to continue.

After a brief hesitation, Rin eventually started moving her fingers again, and her body reacted as if it had been waiting.

As Rin reached out her other hand to her chest, the peaks that had risen stiffly beneath the fabric twitched.

Every time she moved her fingers slowly, the sensation of the slightly coarse fabric pulled by her fingers minutely grazed her nipples, sending a surge of pleasure that made her want to twist her hips instinctively.

A sensation built up very slowly and steadily.

Sensing intuitively that she would soon reach her limit, Rin bit her lip hard.

What if she accidentally made a sound again?

Harried by such anxiety, Rin couldn’t stop her fingers, so she desperately kept her mouth shut and suppressed her trembling body.

”Nng, haah...”

Pleasure poured down like a shiver.

Rin’s outstretched body twitched silently under the covers.

Accumulated desire overflowed, much longer and slower than usual.

Even while the sensations violated every deep corner of Rin’s body.

The fact that she was doing this secretly right next to a man only a few steps away remained lik a thorn in Rin’s mind, blooming an inexplicable emotion.

Even as the lightning-like pleasure she hadn’t felt in so long poured down as if to burn her nerves, all of Rin’s senses and focus were concentrated on Ian.

”Haah...”

Deep night.

Rin’s breath, stained with pleasure, leaked out and lingered in the room, unknown to anyone.

* * *

”Ugh...”

Rin opened her eyes, frowning at the sunlight filtering through her eyelids.

Sunlight was leaking through the gap in the slightly open window.

Ian always designated the day after a mission as a holiday, so it didn’t matter if she slept in later today, but Rin, waking up naturally, stretched and sat up.

Checking the bed next to her, she found it empty; Ian must have woken up first.

Picking up the water bottle on the small table in the corner of the room, Rin gulped down the lukewarm water.

Only then did the lingering drowsiness seem to melt away, and she began to regain her senses.

”Whew...”

Though her sleep had been shorter than usual since she went to bed late last night, Rin felt no fatigue; her body felt light as if all her stress had vanished.

Only then did she remember what she had done last night, and she belatedly clutched her head.

She must have gone crazy from frustration after holding back for so long.

Rin sat on the bed for a while, sinking into a wave of self-reproach.

The time was somewhere between morning and lunch.

After she had sufficiently finished her regrets, Rin stood up to go down and eat, and that was when she heard a knock at the door.

”Yes, come in.”

Rin could tell it was Ian just by the sound of the knock.

Based on her short experience in this city, for mercenaries, doors were just things to be opened, and if you didn’t like it, you locked them yourself.

Among the mercenaries who would bang on doors as if to break them and shout to open up, only Captain Ian displayed aristocratic etiquette like knocking.

As Rin answered, the door opened and Ian entered the room.

”Oh... hey. You’re up early today.”

”Good morning!”

Rin, looking better than usual, offered her morning greetings to the Captain.
