Genshin Impact: Spoiling the Future

”I have something better; it whitens and helps with sleep.” Lucian immediately took out a bottle of medicine and handed it to Ganyu.

Ganyu took it and said thank you; she didn’t suspect anything, after all, it was from Lucian.

The medicine was labeled with the two words ’Melatonin Tablets’; Ganyu wasn’t too familiar with its effects—it looked like a whitening product? After all, ’melatonin’ means fading black.Due to her trust in Lucian, Ganyu planned to try it tonight.

System-produced, must be high quality; this stuff works on Ganyu too.

With this kind of trust, even if Lucian gave her drowsy black tea, she’d drink it all in one go; previously, when Furina couldn’t sleep, Lucian had done exactly that.

But Lucian didn’t deceive her—sleeping is beauty sleep, isn’t it? Staying home to sleep without going out in the sun would naturally make one whiter, so saying it whitens is no problem.

As for helping with sleep, that’s even less of an issue; it’s just that the sleep aid Ganyu wanted was one that shortens sleep time.

Fufu looked on in a daze, pondering in her heart: sleep aid? Maybe bring some for Neuvillette too?

She was still just thinking about it when someone had already spoken up one step ahead.

”Whitening? Give me one too!” Navia was quite interested.

Lucian wasn’t stingy and gave Navia a bottle; Navia directly took one tablet.

Good thing it wasn’t a sedative; after taking it, she wouldn’t go ’three-two-one, down’ and could continue reading the book.

Back to the story, Paimon curiously asked Ganyu: if it were her saving someone, what would she do?

After all, Ganyu was also a fairy; maybe there were some common points.

[Ganyu: ”Me? ...After pulling the person ashore, I might secretly hide behind some tree and observe the other party’s situation...”]

[”Confirm that everything is safe afterward, then sneak away...”]

Liyue readers expressed: Too cute! Simply an angel~! Feels soft and glutinous, like pudding.

The reason Ganyu had this reaction was because she was quite shy and socially anxious, an I-person.

If she saved the other party, the other party would definitely thank her; that kind of thanks would leave her at a loss, so she chose this way of not meeting the other party.

If it were Hu Tao who came, she would graciously accept the thanks and even say, ’Rather than thanks, how about buying a service from the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor? How about it?’

Saving a life but having people buy funeral services was also somewhat abstract.

If it were Cloud Retainer, then it should be:

[Paimon: ””Hmph, this adeptus merely happened to pass by and acted on a whim; no need to bring it up further. You tiny human nearly disturbed this adeptus’s elegant interest in playing the qin.””]

[Ganyu chuckled softly: ”Haha, Paimon’s imitation does capture a bit of Cloud Retainer.”]

”Hmph, not even a little like this adeptus!” Xianyun huffed lightly.

”This adeptus wouldn’t have any elegant interest in playing the qin; with that time, better to tinker with inventions.”

Everyone was speechless: so the part you said isn’t like refers to this? We thought you were going to retort that you’re not that ’fierce’.

The three in the story also thought of Cloud Retainer because of Paimon’s imitation and planned to go to Mt. Aozang first to ask Cloud Retainer.

On one hand, it was to rule out a ’wrong option’; on the other hand, it was also to ask Cloud Retainer about this matter.

Ganyu had lived in Liyue Harbor every day from long ago and had little exchange with adepti, so she didn’t know what was going on, but Cloud Retainer should know; she was ’good at socializing’.

However, regarding the matter of finding Cloud Retainer, Ganyu was still quite hesitant.

[Ganyu: ”...The Cloud Retainer usually shuts herself away researching mechanism arts, accustomed to solitude. Once there’s a chance to chat, she just...”]

She would desperately want to chat with others, not wanting the atmosphere to go cold, afraid of awkwardness, afraid others would think she wasn’t good at communicating.

Then she would tell some stories she thought were very interesting, like Ganyu and Shenhe’s childhood stories.

For such embarrassing things, Ganyu would naturally hesitate a lot.

”What, does this adeptus not excel at chatting?” Xianyun was puzzled; she genuinely believed she was good at chatting.

No one answered her; everyone was afraid of hurting her. Only Lucian and Guizhong patted her shoulders, one on the left and one on the right—everything was unspoken.

”You’re my master too; you’re much stronger than Ei.” Lucian comforted his number one master.

”?” Ei stared at Lucian: extra training!

Paimon could also understand Ganyu’s difficulty, so she said that if Cloud Retainer started ’telling stories’ this time, they’d just shift the topic.

The Traveler didn’t answer: joking, shift the topic? I super love listening!

Cyno’s cold jokes make others feel awkward, but Albedo has him tell more—why? Because he’s Albe(dough) more; with more sadness, he wants to hear some joy.

I’m the same; I just like hearing some joy, heh heh heh.

Cough, back to the story: the Traveler and Ganyu made their way to Mt. Aozang, only to find that Cloud Retainer wasn’t there.

This was a rare occurrence; the usual shut-in girl who loved holing up in her cave inventing—how did she suddenly go out?

You have to know, in previous years during New Year, Cloud Retainer wouldn’t visit others; it was always others coming to visit her.

See those tables and chairs placed at the door? Even the Emperor and Guizhong had to come visit her.

The group came up empty; with nothing to do, Paimon had an idea.

Since it was about finding the fairy who saves people, then as long as there’s distress, a kind-hearted fairy would come to save, right?

Then, have the Traveler pretend to fall into the water and wait for someone to come save her?

She herself wouldn’t work, because she really couldn’t swim and was very afraid of water.

Readers couldn’t help but give a thumbs up: Paimon, you’re a genius! You’ve got causality all figured out!

Is falling into water the keyword for summoning the fairy? Just fall into water and you can summon the fairy to save?

Though the Traveler also thought it very unreliable, she doted on Paimon and couldn’t bear to dampen the child’s enthusiasm, so she decided to cooperate a little.

Swam to the center of the pool and ’floated’ properly; Paimon started calling for help.

[”Help—Help—Someone fell into the water—Kind adepti, hurry and come save—”]

Readers felt it was a bit too exaggerated; like this, which adeptus couldn’t tell it was fake? Furina sighed upon seeing it, Little Ei frowned upon seeing it—even those two couldn’t be fooled.

Eh, but don’t say, there really was someone who fell for it; the Traveler hadn’t even seen the other party’s figure clearly before she was already hugged ashore.

The one who came wasn’t a single ’adeptus’, but two: Xiao and Shenhe both came.

Readers were convinced: this is the Traveler’s connections; no matter how exaggerated, there are adepti rushing to save, so anxious they don’t have time to discern truth from fake. So, what, you unconvinced?

However, the one who clearly saved Dvorak’s ancestor wasn’t these two: one didn’t match gender, one didn’t match age.

Xiao himself also admitted it wasn’t him who did it.

Readers expressed doubt: logically speaking, with Xiao’s looks, even being mistaken for a fairy isn’t impossible, not to mention his height...

Cough, mustn’t continue saying it; any more and it’s disrespectful to the adeptus master. Anyway, since the person himself said it wasn’t, it should really not be him who did it.
