Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1522 Silence.

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

A crater formed, rocking the hub. The Cheetah Lineage young woman ducked for cover, fear written all over her face as a claw extended itself, reaching for Sylasʼ shoulder.

The air popped and crackled, the speed of the claw so fast the world overturned. [Brione Majesty (DDD+)]

Brione was already hovering right above Sylasʼ shoulder before he sensed the scan pass through his body. It was such an unfamiliar feeling he didnʼt even understand what was happening.

He was already holding back his strength. That slight moment of distraction was practically asking for the worst.

There came a strong telekinetic force—the kind that weighed in mountains and descended like meteors.

Sylas reached over his shoulder, taking a single step back without even looking.

His power erupted, golden-green streaks peeling across the skies as though his fingers were leaving trails of stardust in their wake, and in that single motion, he grabbed Brioneʼs wrist as the back of his hip slammed into the front of the latterʼs.

Brione found the world flipping around him, a sense of imminent danger and death blaring in his head in violent sirens. For some reason, he felt like in that moment, Sylas could have killed him with little more than a thought.

And yet, he didnʼt.

BOOM.

Brione slammed into the ground, another, much larger crater forming as rippling earth spread akin to the waves of the ocean.

The booth was completely blown apart, the Cheetah Lineage young woman being sent flying beneath the stress of the impact.

BANG.

Sylasʼ foot slammed against Brioneʼs chest. Weighed down by waves of an emerald- gold aura, it was like Sylas had become multiple mountains, his telekinesis pushing down with millions of kilograms of force.

It was a power that was little more than a small effort for a D-tier, especially one of Brioneʼs caliber.

But Sylas wasnʼt trying to kill the man. If he wanted to, he would have already died the moment he flipped over his head.

That paralysis of fear and realization, though, left Brione frozen on the ground for much longer than he should have been.

Silence.

A complete, whole silence.

It was the sort of quiet that crept into your skin, taking refuge beneath the goosebumps that formed above. It swallowed everything— even oneʼs own heartbeat practically felt hollow beneath it all.

Suffocating and all-encompassing, the 073 Sanctum youths and elders alike watched as one of the strongest amongst them all fell beneath the heel of... An F-tier?

“If your Warlord wanted to renege on his word, tell him to come personally. The likes of you canʼt intimidate me. The only reason youʼre not dead right now is because the hassle wouldnʼt be worth it.”

Sylasʼ gaze flickered as he suddenly felt something surge within his Champion Will. it was a brief moment, but he still chose to remove his foot from Brioneʼs chest a split moment afterward in case it caused him to lose control over the situation.

But to everyone else, Sylas was only retreating because he had already proven his point. He had been sneak-attacked by a D-tier as an F-tier and yet somehow come out on top. King Slayer.

The whisper echoed in all of their ears.

They had heard of the Title. They even knew of some who cheated the system, using the help of their elders to gain the Title. But they had never seen what looked like an F- tier capable of doing it all on his own.

Brione was still in a daze on the ground, not quite understanding what happened. There was also that fear of death that was still bombarding against his heart in waves.

There was just something about Sylasʼ Wil that was impossibly potent. It felt like even as a D-tier, he was staring at an immovable mountain.

But then a streak of gold flared across his eyes. He awoke to the world around him, snapping out of the violent oppression on his mind.

When he realized what happened, his expression became more and more unreadable until it was the perfect reflection of icy cold stone.

He flipped to his feet, his gaze landing on Sylas. Sparks flew through the air, his Will taking tangible form as though to smash apart everything before him.

However, before he could say anything...

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

Pulsing lights of violet and gold bombarded against one another in the air. The instant they separated, the sight of the 713th Lion Warlord and 713th Scorpion Warlord appeared.

The skies cracked and fissured, the separation between the two of them looking like a quagmire of absolute chaos.

The world shook, the planet reacting as though it could shatter apart at any moment. “You have a lot of nerve, Prione,” Gralith said calmly.

“I would advise you stay out of my way. Weʼve already investigated what happened. Sylas Grimbladeʼs actions placed the entire Sanctum in danger, forcing an all-out battle between two C-tiers on our soil. How many disciples died or were injured as a direct result of this? Not only did he not take any responsibility, he fled before he could even be questioned.”

”Fled? If he fled, then why would he return? Your story needs some work,” Gralith replied just as calmly.

“If youʼd like to see the full extent of the Lion Lineage, Gralith, I do not mind showing you. Do you believe the weight of my Lineage is so empty?”

Gralith looked down toward the crater Brione had just been in.

“It seems so.”

Flashes of brilliance pulsed within Prioneʼs eyes, his fury a controlled, manic wildness. However, he didnʼt get a chance to reply—a massive chasm opened between the two of them. It didnʼt feel as though the distance actually increased, and yet it felt like no matter how far they traveled, they would never reach one another.

The 713th Whale Warlord, Erethea.

“Both of you, stop this.”

Not far behind Erethea, there was Aranya... the 713th Serpent Warlord.
