Flower Stealing Master

Chapter 703: No One Is Allowed

Song Qingshu wrapped his arms around Huang Rong’s supple, delicate b0dy and naturally closed his eyes as he took a deep breath. “Mm, you still smell so lovely.”

Enveloped by that almost demonic aura, Huang Rong’s entire b0dy softened in an instant. Upon hearing Song Qingshu’s words, she let out a deep, wistful sigh. “Young Master Song, even if you treat me as your sister, I’m still not that young—do you really find this amusing?”

“Of course it’s amusing,” Song Qingshu replied with a slight smile. Then, his expression grew serious as he said, “Rong’er, you can say anything about me, but you must not say that I’m little.”

“But you’re clearly younger than me!” Huang Rong was momentarily stunned, unable to fathom why he was so upset—until she noticed him winking and making faces. Only then did she realize, and she couldn’t help but mutter under her breath, “Pervert!”

After all, she had experienced it firsthand last night; indeed, by any standard there was no way she could be called “little.”

Not wanting to discuss such vulgar matters further, Huang Rong hastily said, “You are a young hero, and there are countless beautiful maidens in the world who adore you. Why, then, do you persist in clinging to me—a married woman?”

“I simply like married women!” Song Qingshu replied, his tone unyielding and confident. (G: How honest.)

Huang Rong was completely dumbfounded, unsure of how to respond.

Fearing that she might become furious once she fully grasped the situation, Song Qingshu quickly added, “Don’t speak now; let’s go rescue your husband.” With that, he wrapped his arms around her slender waist and, with a light tip of his toes and a few agile leaps, the two were soon atop a nearby tall tower.

A biting cold wind swept over them, and a fine layer of goosebumps rose on Huang Rong’s delicate skin. Instinctively, she shrank closer into Song Qingshu’s embrace. The intense heat radiating from his chest quickly dispelled most of the chill within her, and she then asked, “What are we doing up so high?”
Holding her by the waist, Song Qingshu could keenly feel the vibrant curve of her b0dy and even detect the smooth, warm softness of her skin. He silently marveled to himself, ‘Guo Jing is truly fortunate in love—to be able to sleep with such a beauty every day.’

However, he hadn’t expected that Guo Jing, usually busy with state affairs, had in recent years scarcely shared a bed with Huang Rong; even when they did sleep together, it was often only because he was so exhausted he’d promptly fall into a deep slumber—unlike him, who reveled in romance and lived life so freely.

“Only from a high vantage point can you see far,” Song Qingshu said with a mysterious smile as he quietly fixed his gaze on the distant Military Commissioner’s residence, carefully observing the gaps in their guard.

Noticing his sudden silence, Huang Rong began to feel uneasy. The continuous warmth emanating from Song Qingshu had already stirred an unexpected reaction within her b0dy. After all, she had always been chaste and had never before been held by a man other than her husband. Coupled with last night’s events, she felt her legs grow weak.

“How long do you intend to hold me like this?” she asked coldly, biting her lip, fully aware that things could not continue as they were.

Startled, Song Qingshu looked down to see a frosty expression on her face and then grinned in a peculiar way. “Since Rong’er doesn’t want to be held, then I won’t hold you.”

Before Huang Rong could process his words, she felt her b0dy suddenly become light. In a moment of disorientation, she was horrified to realize that Song Qingshu had thrown her from the tower.

“Ah~!” Unable to comprehend why he had suddenly taken such drastic action, her mind went blank, and she could only scream instinctively.

Yet before her voice could fully emerge, her lips were clamped shut by a pair of scorching, dry lips. Opening her eyes, she found Song Qingshu’s smiling face just inches away.

Now safely cradled in his arms, she was no longer in free fall. Instead, the two of them glided silently through the air—like nocturnal falcons—heading toward the heavily guarded jiedushi’s residence.

Once the shock subsided, Huang Rong looked at the man before her, feeling as though electric currents were surging through her b0dy, stirring an indescribable sense of excitement. High above the ground, with everything around them silent, she felt detached from the world. In that moment, all notions of propriety and convention were cast aside; she no longer considered herself someone else’s wife—the only thought in her mind was to passionately return his k!ss.

Wrapping her hands around his neck, she gradually closed her eyes, surrendering to his eager exploration of her lips.

Gazing at the beauty in his arms—presented as if ripe for the picking—Song Qingshu silently mused, ‘Knowledge truly is power; the suspension bridge effect works wonders indeed.’

The suspension bridge effect is a phenomenon once summarized by scientists in a past life. It refers to how a person’s heartbeat involuntarily accelerates when nervously crossing a suspension bridge. If, at that moment, they happen to encounter someone of the opposite sex, they might mistakenly interpret that surge in heartbeat as the thrill of love, and thus develop romantic feelings. ṛᴀℕȮ𝐛ЁŜ

In the end, it is precisely because one misreads the adrenaline from a dangerous situation as a sign that the other person makes one’s heart flutter, that such affection blossoms.

Song Qingshu had deliberately thrown Huang Rong from the tower, only to rescue her at the brink of despair. In that brief, near-death-and-resurrection moment, no matter how clever she was, she was still a woman—and under such circumstances, all her defenses crumbled instantly.

As it turned out, Song Qingshu’s guess was correct. Huang Rong abandoned her usual restraint, even tilting her chin up to meet his k!ss.

Knowing that she would likely not refuse if he pressed further, Song Qingshu regretted only that, regardless of his prowess, he couldn’t complete the entire act of intimacy during their rapid descent.

‘I wish I were Superman—so I could hold Huang Rong and fly around the Earth at high altitude. Then I’d have all the time in the world to do as I please!’

Song Qingshu seethed in frustration, but no matter how unwilling he was, the two eventually landed on solid ground. The guards in the compound were entirely focused on the perimeter, never expecting anyone to descend straight from the sky.

Taking advantage of this, Song Qingshu signaled two of the guards and hid in a blind spot, while the nearby sentinels remained oblivious.

The moment her feet touched the ground, Huang Rong felt as though she had been abruptly yanked back into reality. Shuddering, she pushed Song Qingshu away. Her face flushed a mix of red and blue as she timidly asked, “Why did you just… why did you k!ss me?”

“If I want to k!ss, then I k!ss,” Song Qingshu replied with a slight smile.

“You!” Huang Rong exclaimed bitterly. “But I have a husband!”

Song Qingshu merely shrugged. “I don’t mind at all.”

“But I do mind!” Huang Rong sighed inwardly. Yet, for some inexplicable reason, she found it difficult to be truly angry.

“Alright, to spare your poor moral sensibilities from shattering completely, I’ll give you a reason,” Song Qingshu said in a solemn tone. “The reason we managed to infiltrate here successfully was the element of surprise. Had you been screaming the whole time, you would have clearly alerted the guards below—and how then could we have rescued your husband?”

‘Clearly it was you who took advantage, yet somehow it ended up being my fault?’ Huang Rong fumed inwardly. However, hearing him put it that way somehow made her feel a bit better. With a flushed face, she said, “Let’s call this one off. But from now on—without my consent—don’t ever k!ss me like that again!”
