Firmament Sword

He regretted not bringing his people to the grand event. Xu Luo resolved to share the good news with them at the first opportunity.

It was the first time since his ascension to the Divine Domain that he’d felt a sense of belonging, a connection to a place and its people.

But then, Xu Luo suddenly sensed a faint scent of blood in the air. He raised an eyebrow, his eyes narrowing as the smile on his face slowly faded.

He then strode into the courtyard and saw it was in complete disarray. The middle-aged man who had come with Sun Xiaohong and the others was lying in a flowerbed, letting out weak groans.

Xu Luo hurried over to check on the middle-aged servant’s injuries.

”Young Master... you’re back...” the middle-aged man said when he saw Xu Luo, greeting him through the pain.

”Who did this?” Xu Luo discovered that both of the middle-aged servant’s arms and legs were broken, twisted into strange angles. A surge of fury welled up inside him.

”Cough... I’m fine, Young Master. No need to worry.” The middle-aged servant forced a smile, but the rims of the rugged man’s eyes were red.

’I can’t believe the Young Master actually cares about me. As servants, who ever gave us a second glance, whether we lived or died?’

”Who did this?” Xu Luo asked again.

The middle-aged servant gestured toward the inner courtyard with his chin and whispered, ”Young Master, you should leave first. We can’t afford to provoke them!”

Xu Luo knelt beside the middle-aged servant and began setting his bones. To distract him, he asked softly, ”I don’t believe I know your name yet.”

”My name is Wei Dong... HISS!”

In the instant Wei Dong answered, Xu Luo set the bone in one of his arms and immediately began working on the other.

The middle-aged man named Wei Dong clenched his jaw, beads of sweat rolling down his forehead, but he didn’t make a sound.

Xu Luo worked quickly, setting the broken bones in his arms and legs. Then he said, ”Wait here for a moment. They’re still inside, right?”

Wei Dong nodded, a worried look in his eyes. He said softly, ”Young Master... just forget it. A little humiliation is nothing to us. We’re used to it.”

The courtyard was large; this was only the outer yard. Wei Dong hoped Xu Luo would leave first.

”Used to it?” Xu Luo patted Wei Dong’s shoulder and stood up. ”From this day forward... you won’t be getting used to this anymore!”

With that, he walked directly toward the inner courtyard.

Wei Dong, the rugged man who hadn’t made a peep during the excruciating pain of having his bones set, now found tears streaming down his face. He mumbled, ”To have the honor of following the Young Master... I can die without regret!”

Xu Luo’s steps faltered for a moment. He said, ”You won’t die!”

Passing through a quiet grove of trees, Xu Luo reached the inner courtyard, where a clamor of voices immediately reached his ears.

”You’ve gone too far! This is the Celestial Brilliance Medicine Garden, and our Young Master is Senior Brother Medicine Garden! Aren’t you afraid of being punished for this?”

Sun Xiaohong’s voice reached Xu Luo’s ears. It didn’t sound too out of the ordinary, and Xu Luo breathed a sigh of relief.

’The servant, Wei Dong, must have been in the outer yard. He must have tried to stop the intruders and gotten his limbs broken and tossed aside for his trouble.’

Just then, another voice, cold and indifferent, spoke up. It was the voice of a young man.

”Senior Brother Medicine Garden? HAHAHAHA... what a grand title. You’re scaring me to death. This young master came here specifically to wait for him!”

Another man’s voice chimed in: ”Bullshit Senior Brother Medicine Garden, what a disgrace! We’ve been waiting here for ages. The goddamn apprenticeship ceremony should have been over long ago. Could it be... that because we’re here, your piece-of-shit master doesn’t dare to come back?”

”It’s fine if he doesn’t dare to come back. Little girl, you’re not bad. Why don’t you come with me instead? Follow this young master, and I guarantee it’ll be a hundred times better than following that piece-of-shit master of yours! You’re just a little servant now, right? This young master can get you directly into the inner sect!” the cold voice of the youth continued.

”In your dreams!” Sun Xiaohong stared angrily at the handsome youth in front of her and raged, ”Don’t you dare insult my Young Master!”

The other man sneered, ”Still acting so ungrateful? How interesting. I wonder if you’ll still have this much nerve when your young master’s face is beaten to a pulp...”

”My Young Master is a hundred times stronger than you!” Sun Xiaohong said defiantly.

SLAP!

With a crisp crack, a young man viciously slapped Sun Xiaohong across the face, then cursed, ”Bitch! You really think anyone gives a damn about you?”

BANG!

Xu Luo kicked the door open, his face murderous as he glared at the people inside.

It was a large reception hall. A handsome youth sat in the host’s seat, not even bothering to lift his head at the sound of the door being kicked in.

The youth’s five attendants were lined up on his left and right. One of them stood in front of Sun Xiaohong; he was the one who had just slapped her.

Then, Xu Luo saw his other servants lying on the floor. They were still breathing, but they had all been knocked unconscious.

Only Sun Xiaohong was left standing, a bright red handprint on her face. She was clearly being restrained, unable to move.

”Young Master...” Sun Xiaohong couldn’t move, but she knew her Young Master was back. The tears she had been desperately holding back streamed down her cheeks.

”Where did this unruly thing come from? Xiaowu, throw him out!” the youth said coldly, without lifting his head.

In truth, the moment Xu Luo entered the room, these people had already recognized him as the new disciple of Yuwen Ji, the Chief Grand Elder of the Medicine Garden.

It was just that in the handsome youth’s eyes, even Yuwen Ji himself was beneath his notice, to say nothing of Yuwen Ji’s disciple.

The young man standing in front of Sun Xiaohong grunted in acknowledgment. He then looked up, a savage grin on his face as he stared at Xu Luo. ”So you’re that piece-of-shit Senior Brother?”

”Have you been eating shit?” Xu Luo glanced at the man and said flatly, ”These people... did you knock them all out? And that slap on her face... was that you too?”

”Ah ha... So what if I did? You want revenge for them? Come on... come and hit me! Let me see... just what skills this new bullshit Senior Brother of the Medicine Garden has!”

The young man named Xiaowu shouted arrogantly, looking at Xu Luo with defiance. ”Come and hit me?”

SLAP!

A deafening crack, like the sound of a giant boulder striking the surface of the water.

It was accompanied by Xu Luo’s mocking voice: ”I’ve never seen such a worthless piece of trash! Begging me to hit you... I’ll grant your wish!”

SLAP!

Another tremendous crack!

The cheeks of the young man named Xiaowu swelled up rapidly. A look of disbelief filled his eyes before his body swayed twice and, with a THUD, he collapsed to the ground.

Xu Luo’s two slaps had been incredibly heavy. If he hadn’t been holding back from killing, the young man would already be dead.

Then, Xu Luo muttered to himself, ”He didn’t say which hand he used to hit her, so he must have used both. Why keep such dog paws around?”

As he spoke, Xu Luo lifted his foot and stomped down hard on the young man’s hand, grinding it forcefully!

CRUNCH!

”AAGH!”

A subhuman howl escaped the throat of the youth who had already fainted. His eyes shot wide open, and then with a gurgle, he passed out again.

One of his hands had been crushed to a pulp!

”No reason to keep this paw either!” Xu Luo said, moving to stomp on the young man’s other hand.

”Enough!” The handsome youth, who had been sitting motionless the whole time, suddenly roared in anger. He struck out at Xu Luo with his palm, creating overlapping afterimages, as if hundreds of palms were striking at once!

Xu Luo snorted coldly and thrust a finger toward the youth’s incoming palm strike.

Saint’s Finger!

This was a unique skill that Xu Luo had developed himself after witnessing the finger attack from the Huo Family’s old ancestor of the Ancient Race. The Star Power within his body was split into two forces, yin and yang, both concentrated into this single finger.

PFFT!

The palm afterimages shattered. The youth cried out in pain; a bloody hole had been pierced directly through his fair, tender palm.

Xu Luo used the Shaking Light Step, his figure moving like a phantom as he charged directly at the seated youth.

”Insolence!” the youth’s other four attendants roared, attacking Xu Luo together.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Xu Luo’s speed was incredible. He unleashed the Tyrant Technique, throwing four punches that instantly sent the four men flying, and then appeared before the youth.

”You dare!” The youth’s face was pale, his eyes filled with terror as he looked at Xu Luo.

He never would have imagined that the young man before him possessed such tyrannical strength.

”I am...”

The youth opened his mouth, about to reveal his identity.

SLAP!

Xu Luo slapped him across the face—a crisp, loud sound—driving the words right back down his throat.

”Ugh!” The youth was in so much pain that tears immediately streamed from his eyes.

Before he could even recover, Xu Luo slapped him across the face again.

”Waaah...” the youth burst out crying. ”You dare hit me... I’m going to get my grandfather to kill you!”

Xu Luo reached out and grabbed the youth by the throat, choking him until he was nearly suffocated and his face began to turn purple.

The youth flailed his arms and kicked his legs, trying to break free from Xu Luo’s grasp, but he could only feel the hand on his throat squeezing tighter and tighter.

Overwhelming fear gradually filled the youth’s eyes as he stared at Xu Luo with a pleading gaze.

In his entire life, he had never experienced anything like this, never felt death so close!

Still holding the youth, Xu Luo viciously slammed him onto the ground. The sound of bones shattering came from several parts of the youth’s body at once.

”Trash!”

Xu Luo said coldly, then gave the youth—who was clutching his throat and coughing violently—an indifferent glance before turning to Sun Xiaohong and releasing her acupoints.

Sun Xiaohong’s first action, surprisingly, was to rush over to the young man whose hand Xu Luo had crushed, lift her foot, and stomp the other hand—the one Xu Luo hadn’t gotten to—into smithereens!

The young man let out another howl and began to writhe desperately on the ground.

”Trash!” Sun Xiaohong mimicked Xu Luo’s cool expression and spat out the word.

Xu Luo grinned, flashing his teeth at Sun Xiaohong. He thought to himself, ’This girl’s got a fiery temper. She’s got guts!’

Nearby, the handsome youth was greedily gulping in fresh air. For the first time in his life, he felt that just being alive... was such a wonderful thing.

At that moment, Xu Luo looked over at him and asked ominously, ”So, what happened to you today?”
