Firmament Sword

Xu Luo’s decision was the right one. By sheer chance, he had stumbled into the training grounds of a group of women from the Luoshui Nunnery.

The women were all dressed in gray robes, their faces devoid of joy or sorrow as they sat peacefully, cultivating.

Just as Xu Luo was about to head elsewhere, a young man suddenly burst in. He had long black hair that draped over his shoulders, sharp brows, and bright eyes. He was incredibly handsome.

Xu Luo was a little surprised. ’Who is this man?’ he wondered. ’How can he just barge into a women’s training area so casually?’

After entering, the man’s gaze fell upon a pretty young woman. She was also dressed in secular clothes and was sitting there, quietly cultivating.

Hearing the noise, the young woman opened her eyes. When she saw who had arrived, a complex emotion flickered in their depths. ”Martial Uncle,” she said softly.

”Come here,” the man said, his voice cold as ice. A cruel glint flashed in his eyes.

A flash of resentment and anger crossed the woman’s eyes, but she obediently stood up, lowered her head, and walked to the man’s side.

”Follow me,” the man said, turning to leave.

The young woman followed closely behind. Once the man was gone, the other women opened their eyes, complex emotions swirling within them. Resentment was plain on a few of their faces, while others looked like they were fuming but didn’t dare to speak up.

Xu Luo raised an eyebrow. He found the situation strange, so he used the Shaking Light Step to quietly follow the man from a distance.

He Fang Hall probably never imagined an outsider could have infiltrated his territory. Utterly without suspicion, he led the young woman to a woodshed.

He opened the door and went inside.

The young woman lingered at the doorway for a long moment, seemingly hesitant about something.

”Are you coming in or not?” He Fang Hall’s voice was laced with impatience.

The young woman bit her lip. As if having made a decision, the fear in her eyes vanished, and she followed him into the woodshed.

By now, Xu Luo had snuck up to the outside of the woodshed with Master Mao and Sister Ying. The area was surrounded by trees, making it easy to hide.

Xu Luo’s eyes could see through obstacles, allowing him to take in the entire scene inside the woodshed. A flash of anger couldn’t help but cross his face.

’To think such scum exists... in my mother’s sect?’

Just then, the man’s voice came from inside the woodshed. ”This month’s allowance, give it to me!”

”M-Martial Uncle... that money is for my own things...” the young woman said in a frail voice.

”Cut the crap! When I tell you to hand it over, you do it!” the man said coldly.

”But... but...” Defeated, the young woman could only obediently take a small pouch from her robes.

The man snatched the pouch and cursed, ”Damn it, that’s all?”

After saying that, he slapped the young woman across the face, leaving a bright red handprint on her pretty cheek.

SLAP!

The crisp sound carried clearly outside.

Then, the man gave a wicked smile and said, ”Now that you’ve paid up, let’s get started.”

The fact that this was happening in his mother’s sect filled Xu Luo with an unbearable rage.

He couldn’t help but sigh, pulling his gaze away. He had originally planned to leave, but then he thought that a man this arrogant must hold a high position. Perhaps he could get some information from him.

With this in mind, Xu Luo decided not to leave just yet.

”M... Martial Uncle, did... did you fail... again?” the young woman asked in a low voice.

”You’re happy that I failed, aren’t you? Hmph!” He Fang Hall snarled. ”You’re all a bunch of bitches!”

”And that Luo Xinlan deserves to die most of all! I gave her two years, constantly trying to please her and get close to her, but she remained completely unmoved. She just coldly rejected me every time. One day, I’ll definitely take her...”

”She’s mine! She’s mine!”

”Luo Xinlan, you’ll never escape my grasp!”

The man’s crazed voice echoed continuously from inside the woodshed.

”That’s the sound! That’s it! See? A sound like that means he’s really happy, right?” Master Mao suddenly grew excited, leaping from Xu Luo’s pocket and shouting loudly.

This time, however, Master Mao forgot to use a private sound transmission. In the quiet surroundings, his voice instantly carried a great distance.

But Xu Luo was far beyond caring what Master Mao was saying. He was already overcome with uncontrollable fury. His staggering aura erupted completely as he brandished the Seven Star Sword and swung it at the woodshed.

As for whether he might harm the innocent woman inside, Xu Luo could no longer spare it a thought.

RUMBLE!

The woodshed collapsed with a deafening roar. Amidst the crash came the woman’s shriek and the man’s furious question.

”Who’s there?!”

He Fang Hall never dreamed that he would be interrupted at such a critical moment.

Immediately after, a wave of Sword Qi slashed in. Seeing this, He Fang Hall didn’t hesitate for a second. He grabbed the young woman and used her as a shield.

SPURT!

The young woman was sliced in two by the Sword Qi. Before she died, a look of release actually appeared in her eyes. Her open eyes seemed to stare at He Fang Hall, filled with mockery.

As the woman was cut in two, He Fang Hall retreated backward, crashing through the woodshed wall with a BOOM and stumbling outside in a pathetic state.

But Xu Luo gave him no room to breathe. Using the Shaking Light Step, he instantly appeared before the man and swung his sword down!

”Breaking Army Seven Kills!”

”Rage Sea Tide!”

A terrifying power, like a surging tidal wave, blasted toward He Fang Hall, threatening to consume him.

At this critical moment, He Fang Hall couldn’t be bothered with his pants anymore—his life was more important than his dignity. He let go of the pants he was holding up, channeled all his power, and with a BOOM, unleashed a shocking aura.

The force shattered the pants at his feet as he leaped into the air, trying to evade the terrifying killing blow.

He Fang Hall looked utterly wretched. His hair was a mess, and he had abandoned all composure, his only thought being how to escape with his life.

He had no idea where this terrifying enemy had come from, nor why they were attacking him so desperately, as if they had a blood feud.

VMMMM!

The power of Rage Sea Tide instantly pulverized everything within a radius of dozens of meters. Although He Fang Hall dodged quickly, the lower half of his body was still grazed by the terrifying force.

The sharp crack of breaking bones echoed from his legs. Both his lower legs... had been snapped clean off by the power of Rage Sea Tide.

He Fang Hall let out a miserable scream, but it wasn’t over. Like a phantom, Xu Luo used the Shaking Light Step to appear before He Fang Hall in an instant, thrusting the black sword in his hand directly at the space between his eyebrows!

”Ah! Don’t kill me!” He Fang Hall was scared out of his wits. Even now, he had no idea what was happening, who this young man was, or why he wanted to kill him.

”Audacious thief! How dare you cause trouble in Luoshui Nunnery! Die!”

At the critical moment, a cold female voice rang out. A terrifying and overwhelming pressure bore down on Xu Luo.

If Xu Luo insisted on killing He Fang Hall, he would definitely be injured by the newcomer.

In an instant, Xu Luo switched to a regular Long Sword. His body dropped, and he viciously twisted the Long Sword into the area below He Fang Hall’s waist...

He Fang Hall suddenly let out an inhuman scream!

Only then did Xu Luo’s feet touch the ground. Using the Shaking Light Step, he fled without a moment’s hesitation!

’This newcomer is much stronger than me!’

’I haven’t even seen my mother yet, and no one knows who I am. In that case, why wait around? Run!’

”Thief! Stop right there!” The cold female voice was like a clap of thunder, making one’s eardrums ache.

Why would Xu Luo stop? He dove directly into a hidden area. The person behind him wanted to give chase, but hearing He Fang Hall’s continuous, shrill screams, she stopped in her tracks and roared, ”Enemy attack! Find him for me, now!”

Immediately, numerous people appeared from all directions and gave chase in the direction Xu Luo had vanished.

Only then did the woman hurry to He Fang Hall’s side. ”Hall, are you alright?” she asked, her face full of concern.

This was a middle-aged nun who appeared to be in her forties. She looked dignified and stern, but right now, her face was filled with nothing but concern.

This middle-aged nun was none other than the current abbot of Luoshui Nunnery, Dharma-name Huitong.

Then, Huitong discovered He Fang Hall’s injuries, especially the area below his waist... The mangled mess of flesh and blood made her face turn deathly pale in an instant. She stretched out a trembling hand and felt for it... It was gone!

”AHH! Bastard! Damn you! If I find you, I will tear you to pieces!” Huitong completely lost her usual dignified and solemn demeanor, looking like a woman possessed.

He was her only remaining relative from her secular family. She had been counting on him to carry on her brother’s lineage and preserve their bloodline, but now, the family line was completely severed!

How could she possibly control her emotions? How could she not be enraged?

Huitong never thought her nephew did anything wrong. The entire Luoshui Nunnery was her property. In her eyes, all the women in the nunnery, whether they were nuns or secular disciples, were there for her nephew to bully as he pleased!

That he was willing to bully them was their great fortune!

Without Huitong’s indulgence, how could He Fang Hall have ever dared to be so arrogant?

”Someone get over here and take him for treatment! Also, lock down the entire Luoshui Island immediately! I want that damn assassin found! No matter who he is, I’ll make him regret being born into this world!”

”You’ve really gone and done it now, kid. You’re too impulsive. You haven’t even found your mother and you just attacked. What now? The whole island is going to be on lockdown. They’ll tear this place apart to find you!” Master Mao grumbled from inside Xu Luo’s pocket.

Then, the thick-skinned fellow couldn’t help but say excitedly, ”This is the ’AHHHH’ sound I heard back then! It’s so full of joy! It really is a way of expressing happiness, AHHHHH! I’m so happy I finally got to hear this beautiful sound again, AHHHHH!”

”Shut up!” Xu Luo wished he could just kick the creature flying.

Pushing the Shaking Light Step to its absolute limit, Xu Luo’s figure became a streak of light, swiftly vanishing into the jungles of Luoshui Island.

The incident was so sudden that no one had expected it. Furthermore, Luoshui Island had been isolated from the world for so many years that no one had dared to cause trouble there. As a result, almost everyone was in a frantic panic, unsure how to respond to the sudden crisis.

This made it easy for Xu Luo to shake off his pursuers. He passed through the dense forest, reached a river, and told Sister Ying to hide herself. Then, with Master Mao, he jumped straight into the water.

A river was the best place to hide one’s aura and throw off pursuit!

”Master Mao can’t swim, AHHHHH!” Hiding in Xu Luo’s pocket, Master Mao clung desperately to his clothes, terrified of being thrown out, and frantically sent a sound transmission to Xu Luo.

Xu Luo ignored Master Mao, dove into the deepest part of the river, and swam downstream.

A moment later, Xu Luo felt the current growing stronger. Opening his eyes, he peered through the water and saw a massive waterfall up ahead. The corner of his mouth twitched. He stopped at the edge of the falls, swam to the bank, and cautiously poked his head out to survey his surroundings.

He also scanned the area with his Divine Sense and found nothing out of the ordinary. Only then did he climb out of the water. He was surrounded by strange, jagged rocks and towering ancient trees. The environment was serene and secluded—a good place to cultivate, actually.

Xu Luo let out a long breath, and some of the foul anger in his heart finally dissipated.

Although attacking in a fit of rage had alerted them and made it much harder to find and rescue his mother, Xu Luo didn’t regret it one bit.

’That kind of scum deserves to die!’
