Extraordinary in Reality Through Magic Games

47: Chapter 47 This time, you must have been lying to your senior. The surrounding space rippled like a stone thrown into a lake, and the two felt their vision go black.

When their vision cleared, they were already standing on the cliff they had previously fallen from, with the setting sun on the distant horizon.

”Awoo—” The Thunder Wolf, which had been guarding them closely, immediately spotted them. It found it strange that these two had appeared on the cliff.

But the confusion in its eyes was instantly replaced by brutality, and it charged toward the cliff, howling.

The Thunder Wolf Leader leaped over ten stories high and jumped directly onto the cliff.

Zhang Mu was not alarmed in the slightest; he waved a hand to signal Avril to step back, then slightly raised his staff.

A fireball, same in size as before but with a deep blue flame, appeared and struck the Thunder Wolf Leader right on the tip of its nose as it landed.

”Boom—”

”Awoo—”

With the sound of the explosion accompanied by a whimper, Zhang Mu curled his lips—this was going to work!

”Oh Ice and Snow, freeze!” Seeing him inflict damage on the Thunder Wolf, Avril seized the gap to chant.

In the air filled with smoke and dust, wind and snow intermingled.

”It’s ineffective, Junior, watch out!” Sensing that her magic hadn’t worked and that the Thunder Wolf Leader still had the ability to move, she immediately called out a warning.

Nodding in response, Zhang Mu mobilized his Mental Energy. Wind gathered, condensing into emerald-green wind blades as thick as grass, which he slashed fiercely at the faint wolf shadow within the dust cloud.

Perhaps dazed from the explosion of the deep blue fireball, the Thunder Wolf Leader had no intention of dodging and was struck precisely by the wind blades.

Another scream rang out. The magic power of the wind blades was exhausted, turning into a breeze that blew away the swirling dust, revealing the silhouette of the Thunder Wolf Leader clearly.

Its injuries were severe. Its massive wolf head was covered in blood, and there was a hideous wound on its waist and abdomen from a wind blade, where wriggling internal organs were vaguely visible.

Its silvery fur was no longer majestic, stained with mud, dust, and grass clippings.

By rights, it shouldn’t have been this easy to blast it into such a grave state.

The Thunder Wolf was agile; any magic that was even slightly slow wouldn’t stand a chance of catching it.

But it could never have imagined that Zhang Mu, whom it had chased in a desperate flight just last night—where magic hitting its fur was no different from a tickle—could raise his strength by a whole tier in just over ten hours.

Therefore, when it jumped onto the cliff, it hadn’t even considered dodging that fireball, which looked like it had only changed in color.

The result was one mistake leading to another.

The Thunder Wolf Leader stood in place, panting, but Zhang Mu would not give it a chance to recover from its injuries.

Adhering to the enemy-combat philosophy of ”strike while the iron is hot,” he raised his hand and sent three curved wind blades rushing toward it.

Seeing the attack that had severely wounded it coming again, it bent its limbs, preparing to leap and dodge. Avril, anticipating its intention, poured magic into her steel staff and froze a layer of thin ice beneath its feet.

”Well done, Senior!”

The Thunder Wolf Leader, not expecting this situation, slipped for an instant. Seeing this, Zhang Mu praised her excitedly while controlling the wind blades to slash fiercely at its waist and abdomen.

Struck head-on three times and covered in sharp lacerations, the Thunder Wolf Leader couldn’t even howl before collapsing to the ground with a crash.

”Senior, finish it off!”

Seeing that the bet with Potter was about to be won, they emptied their internal magic reserves. Fireballs, wind blades, Ice Cones, and ice bullets directly submerged the Thunder Wolf Leader, kicking up a massive cloud of dust.

”Done!”

Having exhausted too much energy, Zhang Mu braced his hands on his knees, gasping for breath, before rising to celebrate with a smile once he recovered.

Avril wore a similar smile, taking out a magic potion and walking toward him.

”Roar—”

A roar that could be called a bellow shattered the smoke and dust.

Zhang Mu, prepared to receive the magic potion, froze his outstretched right hand in mid-air.

He slowly turned his head to look. The Thunder Wolf Leader’s injuries were completely gone, and its silvery fur was wrapped in lightning as thick as plasma.

Advancing?! How?

Zhang Mu’s mouth hung open blankly. Energy is conserved; it hadn’t taken any magic potion, so where did the energy come from to heal its wounds and allow it to advance?

Did it eat some rare medicinal herb in the forest? Or did it eat its own wife?!

”Awoo—”

The Thunder Wolf Leader was covered in crackling lightning, currently in the state of advancement, head tilted back and howling. Zhang Mu was shocked back to his senses and raised his hand to smash a large fireball at it, but as soon as it got close, it was dissipated by the terrifying plasma.

His eye twitched twice. Taking advantage of the fact that the Thunder Wolf Leader hadn’t completed its evolution, Zhang Mu decisively grabbed Avril’s wrist and fled to the right.

The wolf howling gradually faded, but he knew that once it promoted to the Fourth Rank, it would definitely pursue them at a terrifying speed.

Thus, Zhang Mu’s footsteps came to a halt.

”Junior?”

”Senior, we don’t have much time to waste, so listen quietly until I finish.

Zhang Mu caught his breath: ”We have a way to deal with it, but we need to lure it into a special location.

That big guy is already at the Fourth Rank; your magic can’t even break its defense, so leave it to me alone.

Don’t dawdle; we aren’t filming... acting in a play. You run outside the forest and find the teacher. If the beast tide doesn’t disperse within three days, convince the teacher not to be so rigid.”

”Also.” Zhang Mu looked at her and smiled, ”Rest assured, I won’t die.”

”I guarantee it in my own name; I still have the Divine Gift you gave me, don’t I?”

Avril stared at him for a few seconds, then suddenly asked, ”Really?”

”Really, no one on the Saul Continent can take my life, not even a god.”

”Awoo—” There was a wolf howl in the distance that tore through the night sky. The Thunder Wolf Leader had completed its advancement; the howling continued as it approached this location.

”Senior, hurry, don’t miss the opportunity!”

”Okay!” Avril nodded her head in agreement.

Seeing this, Zhang Mu breathed a sigh of relief, glad that Senior wasn’t the type to dwell on things. He would have to find a way to test whether he could rationalize the resurrection function later.

At least he would be able to explain it to the teacher and Senior.

Turning around, Zhang Mu prepared to intercept the Thunder Wolf Leader, using the resurrection function to drain its magic power and weaken its defense. He didn’t believe he couldn’t kill it.

He wondered how those four elves were doing; they had also come to help out of kindness, and he hoped they were still alive.

If they were still in the forest trying to shake off the wolf pack, just hang on a little longer!

Zhang Mu gripped his staff tightly and set off.

”Thump—” A sharp pain struck the back of his head, his vision went black, and his body fell straight to the ground. On the way down, he was caught by a pair of fair hands and placed gently on the ground.

Avril first touched the back of Zhang Mu’s head, where she had knocked him out, and finding a large bump, she smiled apologetically.

”Junior has never lied to me, but I think, this time you must be lying to your Senior.

People die when they are killed.”

Her right hand, radiating a chill, covered Zhang Mu’s left cheek, and her thumb, which could be described as elegant in shape, gently rubbed his skin:

”With Junior’s Mental Energy, you will wake up in ten minutes at most. When you wake up, run. Become strong enough, then come back.

The teacher thinks the same way; otherwise, why would she let me enter the forest with you?

It’s just that Senior won’t be able to take you away anymore; from now on, you have to rely on yourself.”

Avril showed a rare, playful smile, took two bottles of Divine Gift from the wide sleeves of her robe, and placed them beside Zhang Mu’s hand on the ground.

Staring at his face for a moment, she suddenly leaned down and left a trace of chill on the corner of Zhang Mu’s mouth.

Afterwards, she rose without hesitation, ran a hundred meters into the depths of the forest, raised her staff, and released an Ice Cone to pierce a large tree.

The Fourth Rank Thunder Wolf Leader was capable of sensing such close magic fluctuations.

Sure enough, the wolf howling immediately drew closer to her.

Live on, Junior.

Taking one last look at the tree behind which Zhang Mu lay unconscious, Avril turned around resolutely and ran with all her might into the depths of the forest.

Over here, Zhang Mu, in his soul form, was floating above his own prone body.

Looking at the newly appeared ”Abnormal Status—Stunned (00:08:03) until removal” behind the character panel, his expression was shocked and bizarre, complex to the point where it couldn’t be described in words.

I didn’t judge wrong; Senior really isn’t the type to dwell on things. Not only that, she is also terrifyingly decisive.
