Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 507: Exit

Climbing through the Blood Arena Rankings, it didn’t take long for Liora to reach ninety consecutive victories, fulfilling the requirements for a 9-Star Rating.

As she conveyed her intention for one more battle, a phantom emerged on the opposite side of the arena.

It was the Guardian of Rank 2.

Unlike the blonde man who had guarded the Rank 1 section, this time her opponent was a woman.

With long black hair, black eyes, and a piercing, icy gaze, she stared indifferently at Liora without saying a single word.

Her personality was completely different from the blonde man Liora had faced before her.

Much like Liora’s own phantom, she was aloof, showing no intention of communicating with the challenger.

”Die!”, she let out a low shout as soon as the countdown ended, giving neither instructions nor any guidance.

Following her battle cry, a blue spear made of ice materialized in her right hand.

With a wave, a hailstorm formed and engulfed the entire arena, while with a thrust, she aimed its glowing tip at Liora’s throat.

Clearly, the phantoms mimicked the personality of their real counterparts.

While the blonde man was talkative and somewhat immature, this woman was cold and murderous.

Realizing this, Liora did not try to communicate with the enemy.

Facing the incoming spear, she calmly raised her hand, and the four elements gathered.

She didn’t rush to use her Fire Domain, much less any of her other Domains.

Rather, just like her opponent’s spear, a weapon materialized in her hand, and she swung it forward.

Soon, the two women demonstrated the power that only apex Rank 2 Awakeners could possess.

If any Devil were here, they would be left stunned.

Both Liora and her opponent were only using a portion of their total strength, while Rank 2 only corresponded to the Lesser Devil stage.

Yet if any True Devil were within the arena, they would have suffered heavily, even if they just happened to encounter the mere aftermath of their battle.

--

A few hours later, Liora smashed her Fire Domain onto the opponent as though it were a weapon.

Although the woman was surrounded by ice and the temperature around her was countless degrees below zero, she was unable to withstand the impact of the blow.

With a bang, the Guardian’s phantom exploded, disintegrating into a stream of information.

Then, the female voice spoke.

”Awakener Liora Augustus has emerged victorious! Contribution Points +10,000,000.”

”Score: Wins: 100, Defeats: 0.”

”Rank Up!”

”Overall Rating: 10 Stars.”

”...”

”The Awakener has cleared the final trial. Awakener Liora Augustus has reached 10 Stars...”

”Ding! The challenger has been deemed worthy to replace the previous Guardian!”

The moment the words fell, a phantom appeared in front of Liora.

It looked identical to the phantom she had left behind in the Rank 1 Arena.

The only difference, if one had to say, was that the phantom’s power far surpassed the previous one, reaching the very apex of Rank 2.

Even Rank 3 Awakeners would struggle to defeat it.

Seeing this, Liora nodded her head in satisfaction.

After opening the War Academy’s System and seeing the rate at which her Contribution Points were increasing, she broke into a faint smile.

”Now, there is only the Rank 3 Blood Arena remaining.”, she whispered inwardly as her consciousness returned to reality.

More specifically, to the Star Chamber.

She didn’t rush to leave.

She planned to stay for a few more days within the facility before revealing her ”advancement” and entering the Blood Arena once more.

Then, by the end of her seclusion, she would reveal her Rank 4 strength.

This was still lower than her actual strength, but it was more than enough for now.

”The status of a Rank 4 Awakener can bring me many conveniences and benefits.”

”Aside from the increase in Authority and the access to more valuable information, the more important thing is that I will be able to explain my extraordinary advancement speed.”

A student staying in the grounds of the War Academy had no reason to improve in strength at such an astonishing rate.

However, whether it was a person fighting in the extraterrestrial battlefields or venturing into any other secret realms, any progress they made was perfectly justified.

This world was vast and contained countless opportunities.

If one were lucky enough to obtain them, then, let alone making a gradual but speedy progress, even if they grew into Rank 10 Awakeners overnight, no one would be shocked.

With that thought, Liora finalized her next plans.

She closed her eyes and began to stabilize her previous advancement, familiarizing herself with her strength and comprehending the essence of the native power system.

No one knew what she was doing.

In the view of outsiders, she was merely urging her Domain to devour Cosmic Energy, thus rapidly advancing through the early Ranks.

Before she reached Rank 4, she would face no bottlenecks. All she needed to do was accumulate Cosmic Energy.

--

The situation of the War Academy was already chaotic enough.

The appearance of a freak that defied common sense had only made the situation even worse.

Although only a few days had passed, what happened in the Blood Arena had already spread widely.

Not only regarding the Rank 1 section, but also of the changes in the Rank 2 and Rank 3 Blood Arena.

Liora’s appearance and information had become known.

Learning that the new ”monster” talked about in the Information World was actually their fellow classmate, both new and old students couldn’t help but feel odd.

Liora noticed the shift in the atmosphere.

As soon as she stepped out of the Star Chamber, preparing to return to her residence, she noticed the strange gazes of the other students.

At first, only a few of them were looking at her with a mixture of emotions such as admiration and envy.

But after the first students noticed her, the rest soon followed.

By the end, the students would be stunned in place wherever Liora went, looking at her as though she were an animal in the zoo.

Liora felt speechless upon seeing their reaction.

However, she didn’t say anything or try to mingle with them.

She rushed straight toward her own residence.

A few minutes later, she had reached the building block allocated to the new Academy students. After finding her own, she was halfway through opening the door when she heard a deep voice coming from behind her.

”Student Liora! You’re finally here!”, an out-of-breath voice echoed.

”I’ve been waiting for you for a long time! Can I come inside and talk for a bit?”

Liora did not need to turn around to see the other party’s appearance.

With her World of Heart and her Awakener strength, she quickly captured it.

It was a male student.

With an ordinary appearance and average strength, he wore a respectful smile, looking at her with the same admiration as the rest of the students.

Seeing that Liora did not immediately reply, the male student did not break his facade. With a smile still etched on his face, he spoke up:

”I’m the student of Instructor Amon. You should have heard of him before. He was one of the instructors who wished to accept you as his student...”
