Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 381: Natural Disasters

Since the person had decided to stand up, he was considered quite powerful among True Spirit Greater Devils.

In fact, Liora’s opponent had almost fully opened his True Spirit Gate, thus becoming an Archdevil.

With every inch of the True Spirit Gate opening, the Greater Devil would receive a large amount of power feedback.

By the time one reached the peak of the substage, they would be many times stronger than when they first reached it.

Because of the World Devourer ancestor’s interference, Liora had not opened her True Spirit Gate in the slightest.

Therefore, she had yet to receive any significant feedback after the initial advancement.

Her power should have been many times weaker than her opponent, no matter how extraordinary she might be.

However, reality proved otherwise.

Faced with the natural disasters rushing in his direction and threatening to engulf him, Liora’s opponent sensed a large amount of threat.

His intuition told him that he should not face her attack head-on. Otherwise, he would suffer greatly.

Unfortunately, Liora was not planning to let him do as he wished.

Sensing the opponent’s will to evade, her eyes narrowed, and she took action once again.

Manipulating the earth elements, she controlled the crumbling mountain to teleport above him, freezing the space below and preventing him from fleeing.

The enemy quickly reacted and mobilized his demonic energy, breaking the force that had been restraining him.

However, that brief pause had already decided the outcome.

The moment after he recovered, the four different natural disasters fell onto his body.

Magma flew out of the erupting volcano and burned his body, while the cold sea froze his consciousness. The tornado targeted his soul and quickly tore it apart like thousands of blades, while the mountain exploded and its pieces assaulted him.

Within a moment, the menacing Greater Devil had vanished.

Every trace of his existence had been wiped out, all besides a small golden light that fled into the distance.

Watching the golden light retreat, Liora waved her hand and suppressed the rioting elements.

She didn’t attack any further but merely stared at the golden light, which gradually began to take shape.

It didn’t take long. A second later, the Devil she had just killed reappeared.

His appearance was now completely different.

Not only had his face become pale and his aura was fluctuating, but his eyes staring at Liora contained boundless terror.

The other people in the hall would never know the reason behind his intense reaction.

For them, dying was perfectly normal since Indestructible Matter could quickly help them recover.

But only he knew the truth.

During their brief confrontation, more than ten percent of his Indestructible Matter had been consumed.

This meant that under Liora’s attacks, he would only have ten chances to be reborn.

This seemed impressive on its own, but for beings of their level, such a situation would only happen if there was a giant gap in strength between the two.

After all, Greater Devils could strike thousands of times within a split second.

Would being reborn ten times really save him in a fight?

Countless thoughts raced through the man’s mind, but less than a second passed in reality.

After staring at Liora for a while and confirming that the earlier blow had not been her trump card, the man concealed his fear and snorted coldly.

Then, without saying a word, he rushed out of the building.

Liora did not try to stop him.

Although she felt that she could kill him if she were to use all her means, there was no real reason, and doing so would bring her little benefit.

Besides securing an extra spot for Alpha, the main reason she attacked just now was to create an arrogant but powerful persona.

Now that her purpose had been achieved, there was no reason to push this guy any further.

Leaning back in her seat, Liora closed her eyes and pretended that nothing had happened under the ludicrous gazes of the Greater Devils in the hall.

Secretly, the confrontation with the Greater Devil replayed in her mind.

Although she had only used Elemental Affinity, this didn’t mean that her earlier attack had been simple.

Liora had come to comprehend certain concepts during the Snake of Time’s Thunder Tribulation.

Surprisingly, these concepts were not related to thunder or divine punishment, but to destruction.

More specifically, she gained a deeper understanding of natural disasters.

Her earlier attack was exactly the result of this comprehension.

Although it looked like a simple elemental attack, what struck the opponent was countless natural disasters.

Coupled with the Demonforce’s suppression over Indestructible Matter, her opponent was quickly suppressed.

”This combination has great future potential.”

”Moreover, the understanding of natural disasters will prove extremely beneficial once I get rid of the World Devourer ancestor and become an Archdevil.”, Liora concluded.

Her silence after the fight only made her more enigmatic in the eyes of the Greater Devils.

Even though they did not know the extent of her combat power, the fact that she forced a True Spirit Greater Devil to retreat with just an attack made her power abundantly clear.

An awkward silence shrouded the room.

Fortunately, the Universe Chamber of Commerce’s representative knew that things could not continue on like this and quickly spoke up.

”Okay. I believe that no one has an issue with this Lord occupying an extra spot.”, he stated and, seeing everyone nod, continued with a smile.

”Since that’s the case, let’s have everyone fight for the remaining three spots.”

”There are three True Spirit Greater Devils who are still here. Everyone can challenge them. If you manage to defeat them, you will obtain their spot.”

The rules of the competition had been changed out of nowhere, but no one cared. Or at the very least, no one dared to argue.

Soon after, an Indestructible Soul Devil stepped forward and pointed at Assira, obviously regarding her as the weakest among the three.

The Succubus was not angry and didn’t seem to care that people were underestimating her.

She hid her chuckle behind her hand and stepped forward with a smile, accepting his challenge.

Although Liora had her eyes closed and seemed oblivious to her surroundings, her consciousness still paid attention to what was happening.

Soon, she witnessed a surprising scene.

The beautiful and charming Assira did not strike at her opponent at all. Instead, she maintained her smile and muttered a couple of words in a whispered voice.

The eyes of her opponent were instantly clouded in confusion.

Before anyone could react, he raised his hand and attacked his own head, injuring both his physical body and his soul.

Since he didn’t put up any defense, the Greater Devil’s soul soon crumbled.

He hadn’t woken up even in his final moments. Until he took his final breath, he didn’t know what had happened.

”Hehe. I’m not very good at fighting.”, Assira chuckled and acted scared.

”Thank you for letting me win.”, she captured the remnant soul and laughed charmingly, though her laughter sounded grotesque in everyone else’s ears.
