Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 232: Eclipse

The True Heart Devil had never expected that its opponent would be so difficult.

In his opinion, Liora was stronger than True Devils who had just advanced, but she was far from reaching the peak of the stage.

This was something he had understood the moment he saw her, and it was also his biggest source of confidence in choosing to clash with her.

Otherwise, no matter how much he wished to kill her, he would not attacked so recklessly.

Instead, he would have waited for a suitable opportunity to arise.

”Damn it! Has she been hiding her strength? Is this a trap for me?”, the True Heart Devil cursed inwardly, mistakenly believing that Liora had been concealing her strength to make him lower his guard.

But ultimately, this didn’t matter at the moment.

Even if he were to learn that Liora was indeed an ”ordinary” True Devil, the situation would not change.

Knowing this, the True Heart Devil did not offer a truce.

He understood that since things had come to this point, there was no longer a way for either of them to back down.

Today, either he or his opponent would die here!

Thinking of this, his expression grew solemn as he made a difficult decision.

On the other hand, Liora immediately captured the change in her opponent’s expression.

This, coupled with the faint warnings sent out by her intuition, immediately let her know that something threatening was about to occur.

Unfortunately, despite knowing this, she had no time to stop it. Or rather, the True Heart Devil did not give her such time.

Without hesitation, he used his biggest trump card.

It surprisingly didn’t require any time for preparation, nor did it cause any earth-shattering phenomena to occur.

Instead, a deep glint flashed within his eyes, and the next moment, they grew indifferent.

At the same time, his aura increased significantly, signaling a large improvement in his strength.

Evidence of this was that the black flames surrounding him had turned even more violent, while his height had increased even further.

Standing opposite him, Liora noticed this transformation and knew that her opponent should have entered its ”all-out” state.

However, seeing that he was still a True Devil and had not suddenly become a Greater Devil, she couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

”That’s right. How could a True Devil I met at random possibly possess such a terrifying trump card?”, she thought, but it was unknown if these were her true thoughts or if she was simply trying to convince herself.

Seeing that the ”upgrade” of the True Heart Devil had succeeded and that he had shifted his focus to her, Liora’s eyes narrowed.

For the first time since the battle began, she started taking it seriously.

At the same time, for the first time since the True Heart Devil showed up, she finally moved. With a gentle push, she took a step forward.

Then, she recalled the information she had previously digested and raised her hand above her head, her palm facing towards where the sky should have been.

Instantly, a leak seemed to have occurred in the space itself.

Out of nowhere, countless gray substances began pouring out of everywhere and gathering right above her palm.

It was the power of Nothingness.

However, compared to the power of Nothingness that Liora had previously manipulated to suppress the True Heart Devil’s black flames, it was now many times stronger.

Under the effect of her ability, Nothingness descended and revolved above her palm.

At first, its movements seemed to be random and sudden.

But as time passed, its intent became clear.

The power of Nothingness merged and turned into a large gray sphere, which spun around, as if it had gone out of control.

The moment the sphere formed, the matter in a huge radius around it was affected.

Whether willing or not, it broke apart and rushed towards the gray sphere, becoming a part of it.

For a moment, a black hole seemed to have formed under Liora’s command and began affecting this dark space.

Eclipse—the final and most important ability that Liora had awakened during her transformation and advancement.

If Spear of Divine Punishment, Nothingness Manipulation, Null Step, etc., were abilities that enhanced her combat power and granted her more means, then Eclipse was the signature ability of a True Devil-level World Devourer.

It was similar to the flames wielded by a Flame Devil, the Charm of Succubi, and the Necromancy of Undead Devils.

As such, its power could be imagined.

Indeed, the moment she cast Eclipse, even the True Heart Devil, who had used his trump card and was full of confidence, froze in place.

His eyes shrank into needles as he gazed at the rapidly spinning sphere with terror, as if he could recognize its identity.

”Black hole? No! No! It’s the power of Nothingness!”, he spoke in shock, and his original confidence vanished.

Instinctively, he paid no heed to his reputation and turned around, planning to escape this dangerous place.

As a True Devil, it would of course not care about things such as meaningless reputation.

In his opinion, only survival mattered. As long as he could survive, he was willing to do anything, including escaping a battle.

The True Heart Devil’s speed was extremely fast, as if he had practiced these actions thousands of times.

In the blink of an eye, he had traveled through the Origin Sea, flashing far away and looking ready to leave.

Unfortunately for him, Liora was not planning to let him do as he wished.

Seeing that the True Heart Devil was planning to flee, she showed no panic.

If she didn’t possess the confidence to kill him before, then having cast Eclipse and sensed its power, she now was fully confident.

Casting a glance at his departing back, Liora’s mind moved.

In response, part of the spinning sphere above her head broke apart and flew out.

A gray brilliance flashed, and this broken part began to transform.

It turned into countless weapons.

Perhaps coincidentally or perhaps out of Liora’s bad taste, the weapons happened to be exactly the same as the weapons that the True Heart Devil had previously used to attack her.

Sabers, swords, spears, and other weapons shot through the air, seemingly teleporting and arriving before her opponent.

The True Heart Devil’s intuition immediately warned him of danger. Turning around and seeing the barrage of weapons rushing in his direction, his face showed pure terror.

He tried to set up a defense in a hurry, using the black flames to form a wall and hiding behind it.

Unfortunately, this wall instantly crashed under the pressure. A thunderous noise spread throughout the otherwise silent Origin Sea.

The many weapons struck the wall and shattered it instantly, forcing it to dissolve rather than simply to disappear.

Then, they continued unabated and struck at the True Heart Devil.

Having reached this stage, his physical strength was extraordinary, far surpassing any Lesser Devil that Liora had ever met before.

But faced with the weapons created through Eclipse, his defense was easily bypassed.

Weapon after weapon struck directly at his body, leaving everlasting traces of their existence behind.
