Evolution Begins with Elemental Domination

In just a few moments, he had taken three lives.

That’s right...

The figure hit by the deflected attack didn’t die instantly. However, the clinging True Flame was impossible to extinguish. In his near-death state, even a Healing Skill—its effectiveness reduced by more than half—couldn’t prolong his life. He died soon after.

The commotion eventually drew the attention of the personnel at the bottom of the valley.

VMM!

A dazzling Light Bullet shot in from the distance, its light fully exposing the intruder’s silhouette.

He, however, looked completely unfazed, calmly collecting the Runes from the corpses.

His casual and composed air made it clear he didn’t consider them a threat at all.

”Asshole!”

A blond giant carrying a massive shield roared in anger, raising a hand to cast an Earth Prison Skill and trap the enemy.

He heard the sharp whistle of an arrow slicing through the air and reflexively raised his shield, but he never expected that neither his physical block nor his Earth Element shield would be of any use. A single Spiritual Energy Arrow pierced straight through his brain.

Just like that, the formidable giant collapsed.

RAT-TAT-TAT!

Guns roared to life, unleashing a torrent of bullets. Propelled by the Acceleration Runes embedded in their barrels, the projectiles resembled miniature laser beams as they streaked toward Su Chen.

BOOM!

As the Light Bullet slammed into the mountainside, a wave of fire erupted, followed by a shower of rubble.

But the figure was already gone.

When he reappeared, a rapidly spinning, silver-white wheel of blades materialized in his palm, pulsing with the interwoven energy of four different Elements.

’Wind Blade: Quadruple Enchantment!’

The terrifying wheel of blades shot forward with a whistle, instantly shearing through a row of lampposts along the river. It also shredded two men who failed to dodge in time, along with a Water Mirror Screen that shattered upon impact.

In the distance, the expression of the Three-Star Tide Envoy changed. He realized this terrifying power was simply unstoppable.

The water curtain exploded. The surrounding lampposts went out one after another, plunging the riverbank into a chaotic mess of light and shadow.

”It’s him! Don’t let that bastard get away!”

”Protect the Teleportation Gate!”

Many of the personnel from Dragon’s Fang Valley had been transferred here, including the Four-Star Magnetic Element Warlock, Colonel Griffin.

As a high-ranking officer in Oran City’s reserve forces, he had never seen eye-to-eye with the Conglomerate. He detested their monopoly on Rune Formulas and, even more, loathed the Demonic aura that clung to them.

Tensions had been high for some time. If it weren’t for the sake of the bigger picture, he never would have brought the small contingent of soldiers who had volunteered to guard this Teleportation Gate.

He’d long had a premonition: the thieving rat, having succeeded once, wouldn’t pass up a second chance.

And now, it had come to pass.

But he didn’t rush forward recklessly. He could only wait patiently for his opponent to come to him.

HUMMM!

Waves of spiritual energy suddenly rippled outward. Two Echo Arrows, seemingly shot astray, landed on opposite banks of the river. The moment they hit the ground, they sent out invisible spiritual ripples that spread silently like waves on water.

Instantly, the outlines of buildings hidden in the darkness and the forms of invisible Ghostly Water Phantoms were all revealed.

This Spiritual Energy imaging revealed a host of silhouettes within Yan Ruoruo’s Sea of Consciousness, which were then instantly relayed to Su Chen’s mind via Mind Transmission.

Through this synchronized information, he quickly realized that as the spiritual ripples reached the suspicious, hidden buildings, they were completely absorbed by an invisible barrier.

”Are you sure this will hold?”

Colonel Griffin’s brow was furrowed, the Electromagnetic Rifle in his hands already set to maximum power.

”Relax. Have faith in Magic Guide technology. The Crystal Pillars will block out all interference.”

A high-ranking member of the Lorentz Conglomerate was also on site. His glasses, inscribed with glowing Runes, shimmered faintly as he silently watched the distant figure weave through the chaos.

Behind him, eight dark purple Crystal Pillars stood firmly at the eight corners of the Teleportation Gate.

Streams of luminous Spiritual Energy flowed within the pillars. As the energy surged and intertwined, it formed an invisible force field in the air above.

It not only completely blocked all external scrying and warp-in attempts, but also created a high-strength, composite defensive barrier capable of withstanding any attack. The energy required to power it came from mineral crystals related to the Spirit Attribute.

”Demonic forbidden knowledge?”

Colonel Griffin said with disdain.

Even when stray bullets struck the invisible barrier, they failed to pierce it. They only left a small dent, which was instantly smoothed over by the surging energy.

”This technology was excavated from the ruins of the Elemental City from a previous era. Please don’t confuse the two.” The executive with the glasses shook his head and chuckled, revealing a mouthful of fangs.

He was clearly a rather meticulous Demon Warlock.

Nor did he deny the existence of such ”forbidden knowledge.”

”Something’s wrong.”

Colonel Griffin suddenly realized he was thinking too rigidly. The enemy was just picking them off from the perimeter; it seemed he had no intention of breaking through to the core area at all.

But just by doing this, he was steadily racking up contribution points.

”If we don’t make a move, do you expect to stay in the top five? I guarantee you, that lone wolf’s rank is high. Tell Collins and his team to forget about the Ghost Assault Team and the Water Wraiths for now. They need to focus on that young monster.”

....

’Interesting.’

Su Chen could now see that the distant Teleportation Gate was exceptionally well-protected.

His earlier scan had shown him that even the incorporeal Ghostly Water Charms couldn’t penetrate the barrier.

Of course, that didn’t matter to him.

Destroying the Teleportation Gate wasn’t his ultimate goal.

On the contrary, earning contribution points was the top priority.

”Ugh...”
