Evolution Begins with Elemental Domination

It was another werewolf.

However.

Everything had been too rushed.

When suddenly faced with the torrent’s blast, it hastily crossed its arms to block. Yet, the destructive force was impossible to resist, and its body shot backward like a cannonball, slamming into the cliff face behind it.

The rock face collapsed with a BOOM, and spiderweb-like cracks spread out for over twenty meters.

However, what surprised Su Chen was...

The creature hadn’t died.

Compared to the Thunder Element cyborg who’d been blasted into a bloody mist while trying to intercept the attack, this monster’s injuries weren’t that severe.

Its arms below the elbows had been vaporized into a bloody mist, leaving only the jagged, ghastly white stumps of its bones exposed, trembling as they steamed with intense heat. The large golden armor on its chest had cracked and peeled away, revealing the mangled flesh beneath.

And a partially exposed heart crystal.

A magnificent, golden-leaf brilliance burst from within it, and a vigorous Life Force quickly enveloped its mangled body. The torn muscles began to writhe and regenerate. Even the broken bones started to reform, gleaming with a cold light as they were tempered anew.

To some extent, even its flesh and blood were beginning to undergo a metallic transformation.

”A fine treasure!”

Another one of these Heavenly and Earthly Treasures.

Su Chen’s eyes sharpened. As he felt a powerful, oppressive force approaching from behind, he acted without a second thought. With a burst of will, he remotely unleashed a Sun Flame explosion.

BOOM!

A flash of intensely concentrated, white-hot fire instantly blew open the creature’s chest. Its armor shattered again, and even its metal-transmuted flesh was carbonized and vaporized, leaving a large, scorched-black hole torn straight through its chest cavity.

The heart crystal was left completely exposed. Though a few golden fragments had chipped off, it still flowed with golden light, containing a vast wellspring of life.

He had no time to ponder what kind of treasure it was. His Strong Will acted like a hook, forcibly tearing the heart crystal from the mangled corpse. As it fell into his hand, he felt a profound weight that strained his wrist.

After using the Weightlessness Skill to assist him by reducing its weight, Su Chen immediately vanished with his Shadow Jumping Skill, shooting high into the air in an instant.

At that moment, the canyon’s Earth Realm suddenly cracked open, and a colossal, hill-sized insectoid behemoth drilled its way out.

A deep cavity on its front slowly opened, revealing a constantly writhing, ring-shaped maw.

The maw was covered in a layer of dense serrations, along with overlapping folds of flesh and mycelia. As it opened and closed, it unconsciously spewed out a thick, vast cloud of crimson spore mist, while giant tentacles extended from within its mouth.

Wherever the spores spread, even the light was dyed blood-red.

The moment it appeared, it had already swallowed an intact incubation chamber. Immediately after, an extremely enchanting rhythm drifted out from its cavity.

”...Come, embrace new life.”

The sound waves were invisible, yet they struck directly at his Sea of Consciousness.

Bewitched by the enchanting sound from such a colossal creature, the mental barrier in Su Chen’s Sea of Consciousness instantly began to teeter on the verge of collapse. More terrifyingly, a horrifying suction force erupted, and his already-faltering Optical Camouflage field immediately dissipated into specks of light.

The air around Su Chen collapsed, and gravity inverted.

He was uncontrollably pulled toward the writhing, giant maw.

From the side, more than ten giant tentacles even whipped toward him, as if they couldn’t wait to wrap him up.

In response, he showed not a hint of panic. Silently, a triple-layered, interwoven Technique instantly took form.

He didn’t retreat. Instead, he advanced, using the momentum of the suction to slam a Molten Core Collapse straight down.

BOOM!

First, the air itself seemed to collapse inward. The approaching giant tentacles instantly snapped and shattered.

The next instant, the giant worm’s head caved in. A ring of intensely compressed, dark-golden flame spread outward. A large section of its ring-shaped maw turned to charred fragments, and the crimson spore mist was incinerated by the high temperature before it could disperse.

However, such a powerful blow was not enough to finish it off.

It felt no pain, shed no blood, and possessed no consciousness with which to wail in agony. A vigorous Life Force gushed from the severed opening of the giant worm’s neck. In the blink of an eye, the damaged, charred tissues began to regenerate frantically. Even the blasted-apart maw started to writhe and knit itself back together.

As if completely unfazed, the creature seemed to want to open its maw wide and devour him again.

Seeing this, Su Chen didn’t hesitate to follow up with another Molten Core Collapse.

This time, the impact was even more concentrated.

A portion of the giant worm’s torso was directly compressed and collapsed, its internal structures completely obliterated. A crater of cracked and molten earth formed in the surrounding ground.

The behemoth let out a low roar like the rumbling of the earth. After forcibly absorbing a large pile of flesh and bones from the ground, its still-regenerating body suddenly contracted. Like a massive tunnel-boring machine, it kicked up clouds of dust and rubble and escaped back underground.

’What is with this ridiculous regenerative ability?’

Su Chen didn’t launch another one. Unleashing two full-power Molten Core Collapses back-to-back had already made his temples throb slightly.

Even if he relied on his Vitality Burst trait to launch another one, it would be useless against a giant worm that was at least a hundred meters long.

’Is this a transporter for the Bloodthirsty Fungus?’

Su Chen considered it. Whether it was a beehive or an ant nest, both had their own worker bees and ants to act as transporters.

The Bloodthirsty Fungus, with its distributed consciousness network, didn’t seem to have a main nest. It was more like it blossomed everywhere in the forest, a prime example of a cunning rabbit having three burrows. This giant worm, which swallowed the incubation chamber and carted away flesh and bodies, was clearly playing the role of a transporter.

With its retreat, the Bloodthirsty Fungus had clearly given up on this destroyed nest.

However.
