Evolution Begins with Elemental Domination

Liao Dahai stepped forward. He had handled countless construction site disputes, so he appeared very calm. Even when he spotted the faces of the suspected car thieves among the crowd opposite him, he didn’t immediately fly into a rage.

”Everyone, please calm down.”

His expression was placid as he spoke to the burly man in the lead, ”Who decided we’re not allowed to build defensive structures here? We’re just trying to protect our personal property. Your word alone isn’t enough to stop us.”

”Yeah, seriously. Getting all worked up on someone else’s behalf,” a young man in the back kept up his commentary.

”Son of a bitch!”

Several people on the other side, seething with fury, could no longer hold back and charged forward.

But in the next instant, their bodies froze.

BANG!

As if they had slammed into an invisible wall of steel, the rebound from the impact sent the three of them staggering backward before they fell to the ground one after another.

”Huh?”

Everyone present was stunned.

Just then, a strong gust of wind swept through the camp, making the wild grass surge like waves. But like the men, the wind seemed to hit a transparent glass curtain, bizarrely deflecting and flowing around it.

”What the hell?”

Panicked, the group of troublemakers couldn’t help but take a step back.

”Stop with the smoke and mirrors!”

One man’s hand burst into flames as he flung a blazing Fireball, but when it slammed into the invisible wall, it just disintegrated into a shower of sparks, completely unable to break through.

Liao Dahai had been confused, but when he saw the tall figure approaching in the distance, he instantly understood everything.

His heart settled at once, as if he’d found his backbone. He immediately raised his hand, pointed directly at two men in the opposite group, and yelled, ”Those are the two car thieves!”

Seeing this, a middle-aged man also ran out and pointed. ”He’s the one! He stole someone’s car and drove off yesterday.”

Suddenly being identified, the expression of a skinny, monkey-like young man changed drastically as panic seized him.

He tried to take a step, but his feet suddenly felt heavy, as if bound by some force. His legs were completely immobilized from the thighs down.

”Fuck!”

He struggled, flailing his arms to move his body, but he just couldn’t break free from the restraining power. On the contrary, the invisible force tightened, squeezing his leg bones until the joints made a cringe-inducing sound.

The next moment, his arms were also bound tightly by the invisible force, pressed firmly against his sides. He couldn’t even twitch a fingertip.

Under the terrified gazes of the five troublemakers, a tall figure walked right up to the front of the camp.

His expression was calm. He didn’t even bother to glance at them, simply pulling a phone from his pocket, swiping his finger across the screen, and pulling up a few pictures from last night’s surveillance footage.

”So it really is you,” Su Chen said, his cold gaze fixed on the man.

The lanky young man’s pupils contracted. His lips trembled, and he didn’t dare meet the other’s gaze, but an irresistible Telekinetic force locked his jaw in place, forcibly turning his head to face Su Chen.

The burly man couldn’t stand being toyed with like this. Steeling himself, he suddenly accelerated and charged forward.

But before he could even build up momentum, an immense, invisible power slammed into him like a cannonball, blasting him more than ten meters away onto the grass.

As he was one of the men who’d been identified, Su Chen showed him no mercy.

This display of power left the other three men completely terrified, frozen in place, unable to advance or retreat.

”Where’s the tabby cat you were chasing?” Su Chen asked first.

”I... I don’t know.” The skinny man was on the verge of tears, his eyes pleading. He suddenly seemed to remember something and cried out, ”The cat got away yesterday! We never caught it! It’s definitely fine!”

Under the pressure of such absolute power, he completely disregarded his dignity, sobbing as he yelled, ”I’m sorry... We really shouldn’t have gone after your RV. It was all Qian Biao’s idea!”

”Yeah, it was him!”

”It had nothing to do with us! Their group was the one who stole the RVs. This skinny guy is a professional car thief! They hid the RV in the backyard of the guesthouse.”

The three men, finally getting a chance to defend themselves, all pointed their fingers at the skinny man and the brawny man who was lying on the ground, groaning in agony.

It seemed to be an issue of unfair profit-sharing; the men were even complaining that the others wouldn’t let them charge their phones.

”Big brother, the cat’s over here!”

Yang Xiaoxiao’s voice came from behind. The little girl was holding a fluffy tabby cat in her arms.

The little creature’s ears were pricked up alertly. The instant its amber pupils locked onto the skinny man, they contracted sharply. It abruptly struggled out of the girl’s arms and, with a wisp of Wind Fluff, leaped into the air.

SHING!

Its front paws lashed out like lightning, leaving three bloody gashes down the skinny man’s left cheek. A gush of fresh blood streamed out.

After landing lightly, the tabby cat raised its tail high. It walked a few steps forward and then affectionately began to rub against Su Chen’s ankle, letting out a series of docile purrs.

’It’s got plenty of Spiritual Energy...’ Su Chen figured that was thanks to absorbing Rune Essence, which had awakened its intelligence.

He paid the cat no mind and turned his gaze back to the men opposite him. ”How many vehicles did you steal? And what about the missing owner?”

”Two.”

The first question was easy enough to answer.

But as for the owner who had been searching the base with his remote key after discovering his vehicle was stolen... everyone’s eyes flickered, but no one dared to say more.

”Speak up!!” Liao Dahai roared, pressing them.

Under this threat, someone finally spoke up, trembling, ”Qian Biao... he’s the one who killed him by the RV... It had nothing to do with me, anyway! I didn’t get anything out of it!”

By now, the commotion at the RV camp had gradually attracted a crowd of onlookers.

Seeing that a crowd was gathering and things were getting complicated, Liao Dahai grew worried that the powerful Su Chen might just kill the man outright, causing them to lose the moral high ground. He immediately pointed at Qian Biao, who was trying to heal himself a short distance away, and shouted, ”There’s a murderer here! Quick, go report it to Manager Shao! Tell him to come and deliver justice!”
