Chapter 1277, Unleashing Instinct

The Soaring Purple Dragon was Yu Zi Yu’s second body, but it bore another, far more primal identity, a Void Creature.

And he was not just any Void Creature, but the oldest Void Emperor, the very first Void Creature to set foot into Tier-6.

And here, it must be noted that Void Creatures were guided not by thought, but by instinct. They did not reason, acting purely based on their instincts, they released their natural self, like wild beasts. And this was the true nature of the Void Creatures.

And now, with Yu Zi Yu in the crosshairs of his Tribulation, he had no attention to spare for controlling this second body.

Which meant that there was only one viable choice left: Let the Soaring Purple Dragon return to its nature.

This was no ordinary Void Creature. It bore the powers of Growth, Gluttony, and Conversion. A trifecta of instincts honed to devour, to evolve, and to transform.

What would happen when such a being was released from all restraint?

Yu Zi Yu smiled faintly, eyes glinting with anticipation.

*Roooar…* A long, resonant Dragon’s roar rippled through the endless Void.

Looking toward the source, far away, from the abyss of empty Void, a pair of regal eyes slowly lit up. Their crimson glow cutting through the dark like blood-soaked moonlight.

There was hunger in those eyes, and cruelty, just like the Void Worm the size of a continent that Yu Zi Yu had devoured in the past.

At this moment, that primal hunger, that primal desire had filled its mind and body.

And without its master’s will to tame it, the Soaring Purple Dragon was beginning to stir, shooting toward a corner of the Void.

It had caught a scent. The scent of something alien to the Void.

And for this, it was something edible.

…

*Rumble… Rumble…*

Its coiled body surged forth, like an unending mountain range, slithered through the Void.

Waves of Void Energy billowed outward, rolling in dark tides.

A terrifying aura rose from it, accompanied by a spine-chilling aura, the terrifying presence of a predator at the very top of the food chain.

And strangely enough, freed from Yu Zi Yu’s control, the Soaring Purple Dragon seemed even more dreadful.

Obedient to instinct… ruled by desire… its might surged beyond all expectations.

And the moment it began to act, shock rippled through the Void.

Across its many corners, powerhouses turned their eyes toward the deep abyss.

“That… That’s its aura…” The expression of Formless, the Void Emperor locked in battle with the Dwarf Warrior, turned grim.

[Even he woke up? The oldest Void Emperor, the existence at the very top of the Void!?]

Sensing the increasingly dreadful aura, Formless had an urgent desire to flee this place. Even without having ever crossed paths with him, an overwhelming dread washed over him.

Even when they were separated by thousands of kilometers, Formless found the monstrous presence still unbearable.

A bead of sweat rolled down his brow.

“Who… Who was foolish enough to awaken him…?” There was pity in his voice now, sympathy for those from the stars who had dared step into dreary Void.

And Formless was not alone.

The Void Emperor Arsenal, locked in battle with the Troll King, couldn’t help but exhale a long, deep breath.

[Who would have thought that the arrival of the powerhouses of the stars would awaken even the oldest Void Emperor. But, this is also for the better. Gone for so long, he’s faded into legend. Now that he is awake, I wonder what kind of nightmare will unfold?]

…

Just as Arsenal watched on in eager anticipation…

*Roooooaar…* A sudden, majestic Dragon Roar, seeming coming from the ancient past, tore through the fabric of space. It was a cry so primal, so thunderous, it reverberated across half the Void.

And then…

*Boooooom…* A deafening explosion shattered the stillness, and the entire Void shook violently.

Looking toward the horizon, a piercing purple light surged forth. An awe-inspiring pillar, tearing through Heaven and spanning across the cosmos.

“What kind of joke is this!?” Formless turned pale in shock.

[This… this can’t be real! That’s millions of kilometers away… and I can still see it!?]

However, before he could process it further, that devastating pillar of light shot straight toward the deepest reaches of the Void at a speed that defied imagination.

It destroyed, annihilated everything in its path, for it was merely a Dragon Breath.

…

However, what none knew was that this cataclysm was merely a casual breath from the Soaring Purple Dragon.

The true battle had only just begun.

*Roooar…* A thunderous, guttural roar rose again.

From the heart of the Void, two crimson-glowing Dragon Eyes locked on a single target, a monastery floating in the void, with golden Sanskrit text circling around the temple, radiating divine brilliance even in this pitch-dark plane.

It was the Grand Thunderclap Monastery; an Imperial Artifact of the Buddhist Sect.

And beneath it, cross-legged, sat a youthful monk, hands in mudra, and his gaze locked somewhere

“This aura… that’s the aura of a Supreme Principle…” His murmur was laced with unease, and his expression incomprehensibly complex.

[A creature of the Void, deemed chaotic, mindless, no better than beasts, has been chosen by the Supreme Principles as its bearer?! This… is very bad!]

[Worse still, that very same monster is now pulling the Supreme Chaos Sea down into the Void!]

*Haaaaa…* A long, deep breath escaped the monk’s lips, as he realized that things had spiraled out of control.

…

Meanwhile, on the other side of the Void, Yu Zi Yu stole a glance toward the battlefield, and then he simply paid it no heed.

Since the Soaring Purple Dragon had made its move, there was no longer any need for concern.

After all, the current Soaring Purple Dragon was a terrifying existence that bore the Supreme Principle of Infinity.

Even without his control, its strength had become unfathomable.

In fact, Yu Zi Yu couldn’t help but wonder: ‘Could it be… that my interference was actually limiting it?’

After all, whether it was the instinct, or the Supreme Principle, it required no wisdom.

At times, pure instinct was the most terrifying force of all.

And most important of all, there was also that mysterious Supreme Chaos Sea.

Its very existence gave rise to countless theories.

One could not simply discern which Principle it embodied by observing its surface.

Furthermore, both Yu Zi Yu and the Soaring Purple Dragon shared a single origin.

So, when Yu Zi Yu controlled the Purple Dragon to reveal the aura of the Supreme Principle, a dangerous assumption naturally emerged: That deep within the Void… the slumbering oldest Void Emperor has been chosen by the Supreme Principle. And the descent of the Supreme Chaos Sea was its work.

As for whether the powerhouses of the Universe would believe it or not? Maybe or maybe not.

However, Yu Zi Yu could not care less.

After all, Supreme Principles were beyond comprehension.

Outside of Yu Zi Yu, no one, not even the most ancient Imperial Artifacts, fully understood them.

And so, the cards were in his hands.

As long as he kept his True Body hidden, then the Soaring Purple Dragon drawing this Supreme Chaos Sea would most likely become a forgone conclusion.

After all, who would believe that there would be two existence carrying the Supreme Principles in the same Void?

As such, the Soaring Purple Dragon would take the blame and all eyes would be drawn on it.

And thus, Yu Zi Yu’s main body could vanish once more into the shadows.
