A Willow Tree rose from the center of the city, its willows, which looked like divine chains of green luminance, covered over half of the city, obscuring the sky.

It was… truly divine.

At least in this moment, the remaining Humans lost their voices, their gazes filled with astonishment as they looked upon this scene.

Furthermore, there was even an elderly man who fell to his knees with a ‘thud’ and cried out, “Oh, Divine Tree, I implore you, please save us. My grandson, he was only eight years old, only eight, and he was devoured by those cursed Mutant Beasts.”

“…”

Silence, a deathly silence ensued.

However, after a moment, a roar suddenly resounded through the skies, “Old man, that’s a Tree Monster.”

Roaring, a Superhuman brandished a machete in hand, chopping down countless mutant branches lunging at him.

“A Tree Monster!?” A bitter smile crossed the old man’s face, as if he had not heard.

Even the Humans hanging from the branches in the Tree World above pretended they had not heard anything.

“If it can avenge me, even if it’s a Tree Monster, it’s still a Divine Tree.”

With these words, the old man’s head slammed his head on the ground hard, splattering the ground with blood.

*Ha…* A sigh echoed through half the city.

Beside the old man, a root broke through the ground, entwined around him and lifted him into the air.

“Divine or Monster… It’s just a matter of perspective.” As he spoke, the entire city quivered slightly.

Following that, an overwhelming number of branches swept through the entire city.

Before long, in the entire city, there were only a dozen or so people left resisting.

Upon closer inspection, each of them was extraordinary.

One person wielded a large machete, with a face full of stubble. Although he was middle-aged, his Spiritual Energy had reached 70,000-80,000.

Another person was a young man in military uniform, his rugged face exuding a cold yet resolute demeanor.

Apart from these, there was also a brown-haired youth, holding two exquisitely crafted pistols.

What was surprising, however, was that the pistols did not fire bullets but rather something strange, akin to Spiritual Energy.

“Combining Spiritual Energy with technology, huh?” Watching the young man not far away running through the forest and even firing repeatedly at the towering buildings, Yu Zi Yu’s expression changed a little.

After a moment, with a flicker of thought…

*Boom, boom, boom…*

Accompanied by continuous tremors, a root as thick as an arm tore through the ground, advancing toward the young man.

“Damn it!” Seemingly aware of the incoming root, the young man’s face turned drastically pale.

However, in the face of the root extending from Yu Zi Yu’s main body, all his struggles were in vain.

In just a moment, a pitiful cry rang out as the root pierced through his chest, and then lifted him into the sky.

Yu Zi Yu had gained another valuable catch.

As for the pistol that shot Spiritual Energy rounds, it naturally fell into Yu Zi Yu’s possession.

However, after taking a look at it, he was a bit disappointed.

The combination of Spiritual Energy and technology was not very thorough, and it consumed quite a bit of Spiritual Energy.

It was still far from using it on a large scale.

Nevertheless, this also confirmed another one of Yu Zi Yu’s speculations.

Humanity was a race brimming with creativity, and they had already begun seeking new ways of survival.

The Spiritual Energy Guns were their starting point. In the future, Spirit Energy Cannons, Spiritual Energy Missiles would be born.

All these Spiritual Energy Weapons that were beyond their current understanding were not impossible. Even the birth of Spiritual Energy Technology was foreseeable.

However, the main question was would they manage to survive until then.

As if thinking of something, a cold smile played at the corner of Yu Zi Yu’s mouth.

Then, he shifted his gaze toward the ten or so Superhumans who were still struggling.

One had to admit that the second wave of Spiritual Energy Tide was an amazing baptism. Just after rising, it had already given birth to so many Superhumans.

And this was just the first night; they had not had the time to stabilize and temper their foundations.

Yu Zi Yu could foresee more than a dozen, or possibly hundreds of Superhumans being born.

Nonetheless, they were Tier-1 Superhumans. No matter how many of them there were, they were still ants in his eyes.

As these thoughts crossed his mind, the crown of Yu Zi Yu’s tree body shook lightly.

The next moment…

*Screech, Screech, Screech…* Sharp, piercing screeches resounded through the sky as fist-sized birds, as black as ink and emanating extremely cold, menacing aura, slowly rose into the sky.

They were none other than Peregrine Falcons, the Mutant Bird that had been following Yu Zi Yu from the very beginning.

Now, they have also reached Tier-1.

Their Innate Talent, Bullet Dive, was even more potent than before.

Of course, in addition to their Innate Talent, they had awakened a new ability.

Flash—Peregrine Falcons can burst forth with such speed that they are imperceptible to the naked eyes, akin to teleportation.
It was another terrifying ability.

It also befitted the identity of aerial overlords, Peregrine Falcons. After all, they were the most adept at speed among predatory birds, so it was understandable that they had awakened such a fearsome ability.

By now, the eight slowly ascending Peregrine Falcons had already locked onto their targets with their Eagle-like eyes, and their wings had started trembling.

The next moment…

*Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh…” Sounds of something cutting through the air at high speed filled the air as the Peregrine Falcons disappeared from sight, leaving only a barely noticeable wisp.

By the time Superhumans among the Humans finally reacted, they felt a pain in their chests, before they fell to the ground, one after another.

At this moment, there was only one person left in the entire city, leaning on a large cleaver, clutching his chest, and staring intently at Yu Zi Yu in the city.

“Tree Monster, why’re here?” Old Li roared that sounded like a howl, his eyes turning red.

In just a few breaths, one tree had almost destroyed the entire city. Moreover, not just the Humans, even countless Mutant Beasts had been taken down in one fell swoop.

Not to mention the others, its terrifying might had even frightened a veteran Superhuman like him out of his wits.

[But so what!?] As he stared at this seemingly divine yet extremely vicious Tree Monster in the distance, Old Li could not help but shout in anger.

He was unwilling, even more so, refused to accept it.

However, surprisingly, in the instant he roared…

“Why am I here?”  A light chuckle echoed throughout the city, plunging the entire city into a deathly silence.

The Beasts no longer roared, the Humans no longer screamed.

The entire city fell into an eerie silence.

Countless Humans bound by the branches looked in Yu Zi Yu’s direction in disbelief.

But, paralyzed by the toxins secreted by the branches, they could not do anything except stare in horror. Now, the only one who could express this disbelief was Old Li in the distance, who stood alone in the forest.

“How is this possible?” His pale lips quivered as Old Li stared at Yu Zi Yu’s tree body, finding it quite hard to believe.

[The Tree Monster can speak, and so clearly at that!? This, this…] Dumbfounded, Old Li looked as if he had seen a ghost.

However, at that moment, Yu Zi Yu’s voice echoed in the city once again, “I was originally in Misty Mountains, and thanks to your nuclear strike, Misty Mountains are no longer safe for habitation. Therefore, I had no choice but to come here and seek a place to reside.”

Yu Zi Yu then sneered and continued, “However, you Humans are truly ruthless. In order to eliminate me, you even destroyed Linhai Town, and even discarded Maple Leaf City… What an amazing strategy, really amazing…”

His continuous praises were filled with extreme sarcasm, causing countless people to exchange glances, perplexed. After realization finally dawned upon them, they could not help but be in total disbelief.

On another side, as if he had figured it out, Old Li gritted his teeth and stated, “So, it’s just as I suspected.”

Old Li gave out a miserable laugh, feeling helpless.

They had failed to destroy the tree, and in the end, they had invited retaliation…
