Eternal Thief

Chapter 1433: When the Powerful Fight, the Cunning Win! (8)

The Grand Wealth Lord’s vigilance didn’t go unnoticed under Ace’s perception. In fact, he even suspected the Grand Wealth Lord would react like this because of the former’s seemingly cautious and cunning nature.

The Grand Wealth Lord’s spirit Qi fluctuated ever so slightly as he coldly said, ”Enough of your nonsense. Be obedient and follow me back to confess your sins!”

Ace narrowed his eyes as he calmly stated, ”What sins? Sect Master, I think you have misunderstood the situation. Although I admit I was hiding my real power, I was doing it under the order of the Matriarch.”

The Grand Wealth Lord was startled when he heard that unexpected revelation, and he couldn’t find any trace of deceit from Ace’s words, nor did Ace’s expression change.

The Grand Wealth Lord was extremely confident in his observation abilities, not to mention the party in question was still just an Ascension Master. That’s why he didn’t think Ace could lie so easily under his presence, and now that Ace suddenly pulled his shield ’Prosperity Matriarch’, the Grand Wealth Lord was in a dilemma and hesitated.

’Was it really her instruction?’ He thought with a hint of uncertainty, ’He’s too strange and just a moment ago, even I couldn’t tell he was an Ascension Master. Not to mention that strange ability he used to escape that hateful bastard isn’t in our scripture hall. Don’t tell me mother is still hiding things from me just like the time she hid this brat’s existence from me and only told me when the other bastard showed up, and she needed my help...’

The Grand Wealth Lord’s expression was filled with indignation and a hint of fury as he started to believe Ace’s words.

Ace was also secretly surprised when he noticed the Grand Wealth Lord’s change in expression, and he wanted to snicker in disdain.

’Heh, so much for trust between mother and son. It’s pretty clear the Prosperity Matriarch doesn’t trust even her own son, and she’s too greedy to share benefits with others before devouring the best for herself.

’I did right to use her name to deter this Sect Master, who has been living under the shadow of his mother, and despite being the Sect Master, he clearly has little authority. Furthermore, he had no way to conform as long as the Prosperity Matriarch continued to hide, and knowing her personality, she wouldn’t trust anyone by revealing her vulnerable state.

’Fooling him won’t be a problem. Now it all depends on how much he fears his mother...and I might be able to use it to my advantage...’

A peculiar glint flashed past his eyes before he wore an expression of disbelief, ”It seemed the Lord Sect Master wasn’t aware of Her Highness’ orders.”

The Grand Wealth Lord was further irritated as he glared at Ace coldly, ”Are you trying to provoke me?!”

Ace quickly shook his head as he humbly spoke, ”I won’t dare even if I have a hundred guts. In fact, now that Lord Sect Master has appeared here, and you told me your identity, I should probably tell you b-but...” He appeared hesitant, as if he was making a tough decision.

The Grand Wealth Lord was instantly altered, seeing Ace’s behavior as he increased his spiritual pressure on Ace. Now that he knew Ace was ’working’ for Prosperity Matriarch, he no longer feared Ace’s retaliation.

Furthermore, Ace was also a Heaven Chosen, and his strange abilities didn’t come as a surprise after witnessing Damien’s battle with the Prosperity Matriarch. In fact, he thought that Ace was keeping a low profile under the Prosperity Matriarch’s command, and it also made sense since this meant the others won’t take notice of him. He can perform her tasks without encountering any difficulty.

”Tell me. I’m the Sect Master of the PHW King Sect! You don’t need to keep any secrets from me, and since my mother has gone into hiding, I’ll be making decisions in her absence!” The Grand Wealth Lord confidently stated with a hint of hidden elation when he mentioned that his mother had gone into hiding.

Even he knew that the Prosperity Matriarch was in her weakest state right now, and she won’t even tell him, her son, where she was at this moment. She was that selfish!

Ace knew the fish had taken the bait, and after showing a hint of hesitation, he gritted his teeth and said, ”Before I received the order from Her Highness to escape, she told me where she was going to hide and instructed me to find her as soon as possible. That’s why I dare to reveal my true cultivation and was about to look for Prosperity Elder Maxwell to take me there, since I don’t know how to get there.”

The Grand Wealth Lord’s eyes widened in astonishment as he couldn’t believe his mother would give Ace such instruction and even reveal her current location.

Despite his suspicions, he didn’t think Ace had any reason to lie to him. Not to mention, Ace was the Prosperity Matriarch’s slave, which also meant he couldn’t go against her. So, if she had really told him her location and come there, he was most likely telling the truth.

A peculiar light shone in the Grand Wealth Lord’s eyes as his expression took a completely different turn as he said solemnly, ”If that is the case, then we should hurry there! I’ll take you there personally since I’m also worried about her safety!”

Ace wanted to scoff, but his expression didn’t change as if he didn’t guess what the Grand Wealth Lord was most likely planning.

”Since Lord Sect Master is closest to Her Highness, then I think you should go and find her, since I’m not in a good state after what happened. I’ll tell you where she was going, and I hope you can help me explain this to her.” Ace stated bitterly as his expression went pale, as if really exhausted, and before pretending to be fine.

The Grand Wealth Lord’s eyes shone like twinkling stars and almost laughed in mirth after hearing Ace’s ’suggestion’.

He showed a gentle expression as he nodded kindly like an elder, ”Don’t worry, she won’t blame you, I’ll explain it to her. Just tell me where she is and leave everything else to me.”

Ace nodded with a grateful expression as he replied, ”Before she escaped, she told me to find her in the southwest of the Limitless Sky Peaks. She told me she would be on the tallest peak in that region, and her hidden cultivation mansion is there. Once I get close to it, I’ll be easily able to find her location.”

”Southwest of the Limitless Sky Peaks?” The Grand Wealth Lord frowned slightly as he knew how massive the Limitless Sky Peaks were, but he didn’t suspect anything since that place was a good place to hide.

Furthermore, knowing the Prosperity Matriarch, she’ll naturally have many such places, and as the ruler of the Great Prosperity Domain, she knew this place more than anyone else.

The Grand Wealth Lord was no different, as he also knew many remote and dangerous places within the Great Prosperity Domain. If he wanted to hide, he would also choose such regions and wouldn’t stay in the sect, especially since he wouldn’t trust others and had many enemies.

After giving Ace a deep glance as he nodded, ”Alright, you can go back and recuperate. But don’t tell anyone else what you told me or...” Dense killing intent shone in the Grand Wealth Lord’s eyes as he threatened him.

Ace promised without hesitation, ”I won’t dare!”

After giving Ace a final warning glare, the Grand Wealth Lord turned into a golden streak and vanished into the sky. However, because of his excitement and being distracted by Ace, he failed to notice the missing space ring on his finger!

Thereby, at this moment, darkness crept onto the face of the Grand Wealth Lord!
